On a 2006 VW Passat 3.6l engine, where is the battery located
- In the engine compartment.
- Under the front seat.
- In trunk on the right side.
- In the trunk on the left side
I just got my 2009 Hyundai elantra GLS and realized that I can't tell when the car is heated, I usually like to watch my thermostat before I start driving, how do I know if its over hearing?
View 1 RepliesI searched the archives a bit but didn't come up with much. This is also called a "convenience module", on B5 Audis at least. Basically I'm searching around for one to use as parts and fix an A4 one (can't find any right now). There are some people parting B5 Passats but they were asking me where it's located and I'm not sure if it's in the same spot as it is on the Audis (next to right side frame rail in the trunk).

View 4 RepliesWell yesterday i installed the Neuspeed Intake and had no trouble what so ever until 30 min ago when i pull out of the parking lot abit harsh but nothing extreme no wheel spining or anything like that just a bit quicker exit.
That's when my check engine lit up and i pulled over and checked what was going on and heard a air leak, which is located to the left of the intake filter.
Can I replace the battery in my 06 Passat myself? I've been told that I must take it in to the dealer to have it done, so they can reprogram the car. Doesn't sound right to me.

View 3 RepliesMy 2006 2.0T Passat is starting to give me the steering column errors. I've seen a couple people saying that the problem was rectified by a new battery. Seeing the car is out of warranty and this would be the 6th winter for the battery, I think it's probably good idea to try a new battery to see if it does the trick before going to the dealer. I've never changed a battery before, so what does it all involve? I have a 12V battery from my back up sump pump that I can use to keep the power up when I change the battery. I imagine that I'll just connect the back up battery to the leads, then disconnect the old battery, pull it out, put in the new battery, connect the leads to the new battery, and disconnect the back up battery. Does this sound reasonable? Is there a bolt(s) securing the battery in place that needs to be loosened before I can pull the old battery out of the bay?
View 4 Replies2.0t 2006 auto Passat: Push key in, car turns over, rpms settle out, then drop out and battery light comes on. When this happens it will do it several times then fire up normal. I tryed starting it with the gas mashed and it fired up revs went up then dropped out and died. This has only started happening today. Also about a year ago had a problem with battery draining after car sits over night or for long periods of time. After VW replaced a few relays and assorted parts they changed out a window motor and that seems to have fixed that issue. No problems till now.
View 24 RepliesI drove my 2006 Passat 2.0T at night a few days ago. And I forgot to shut off the light. It came out that my battery was drained completely. After doing a jump start under my friend's assistance, I was able to run it again. But my radio remains dead, meaning it won't turn on by all means.

View 8 RepliesI have a 2013 Jetta se with connectivity and it has the 8 speaker premium. I'm wondering where the speakers are located. 2 tweeters in the pillar and a speaker in each door. So that's 6, and then there are cutouts for tweeters in the rear doors but I don't see a tweeter in the cutout? That would've made 8 (lovely math skill I know).

View 2 RepliesWhere is this located on an '87 Celica GT with the 3SFE? I'm having nothing but problems with the headlights and illumination. Schematics show all these wires going through the retractor relay. It shows in my book that it's supposed to be located in some ridiculous location behind the stereo. I've looked on both sides with a flashlight and see a very large black box that looks like the ECU and not the retractor relay... I see some exploded views of it located under the hood on other websites. I still have yet to spot where it's located. There's about 200 different fuse/relay panels on this car. I would like to fix my lights but I can't with the terrible information in my book and lack of it on the web.
View 2 RepliesThe horn on my 2010 golf recently went out, so I'm thinking that one of two things happened. Before the horn went out completely, one tone died, then about two months later it stopped working completely. When I press the horn, I hear a click coming from the dash. So, I think it's either a bad relay or both horns went out. How likely is it that both horns go out within a few months of each other?
Anyway, I bought a new horn relay, but how to access the relay panel located in the dash. How to remove the dash sections, or is there a good write up?
Not the sensors themselves, but the actual control module in the car?
