Passat (B6) :: 2006 VW 2.0T Won't Start

My car died in the middle of the road a week or so ago, and when we brought it home, it wasn't getting any fire. We put new cam sensor, new crank sensor, and bought a replacement ECU. The ECU was swapped out, and the car still wouldn't fire. The ECU came with another key FOB. We tried to start the car with the new FOB key. The FOB key got stuck in the ignition, and we had to wiggle the gear shifter around to get the key out. We put the old key FOB back in the ignition, now it is trying to get stuck occasionally.
We put the old ECU back in the car since the new one didn't fix the problem. Ended up replacing all four coil packs. Using the old FOB key, the car will turn over and gets fire, but will not start. Each valve was checked, and 120 PSI readings were obtained. All fuses are getting correct voltage (info on correct readings was obtained from VW tech in Louisiana who did troubleshooting over phone). Next problem...parking brake was engaged, during all this, while checking all fuses and grounding...now it is stuck and can't be disengaged unless car is running.
Had the car towed to the local dealer, and they say they checked it out and the car needs $4700 dollars worth of parts and labor. They claim it has a bent valve, and bad fuel pressure regulator. They didn't use any diagnostic tool though to read codes. They stood outside with the hood up. The mechanics could not start the motor, and they said they wouldn't be able to read any codes cause the original radio is not in the car. I think I am gonna call their bluff. Is it possible that the immobilizer could have been activated, as a result of us using two different key FOBs, thus prevent the car from starting? I have read that the immobilizer can shut off the fuel supply and prevent the car from starting.

My '06 will not start. Jump it and it will run but turn it off and it is done. Not the battery it's 2 years old. Seems to be some electrical issue.

Bought a 2006 (later production) with 25,000 miles over the weekend. Couldn't pass up the price and the warranty (1 year left + CPO). Picked up the car Saturday at noon..... had to drive to DC for business and the CEL came on when I turned on the car this morning. I researched at lunch that it could be a cold start misfire but I am already pretty heated about this. When I get home tonight I am going to plug it in to my OBDII scanner and see what I can pull. If it is something bad.... I am giving it back to the dealership.

Cold start issues that my 2006 2.0T Passat is having. A few weeks ago, during a stretch of cold weather (10-20F), my Passat would sputter when I tried starting it up. It would either start and immediately shut off, would attempt to turn over, and generally on the 3rd attempt would turn over and run fine. I was only having this issue in the morning, and it would start fine when I would leave work (9 hour shifts).
I got my battery tested, and it proved to be failing. Replaced it. A few days later cylinder 4 started to misfire. I replaced all spark plugs and coil packs (85k on the car). During this service discovered that my oil had gotten some moisture in it and have off-white residue, flushed oil, replaced with new filter. A few days go by and I get code P2181 (cooling system performance). I cleared this out earlier today and it hasn't come back (50 miles later).
Are things just starting to go at the same time, or might there be another underlying issue? I have plans to flush the tranny and do the timing belt/coolant/water pump in the next month.

After a long hour working day, B6 could not start in company's parking lot. The temperature is not cold, the battery is not dead, has plenty gas in the tank. The starter cranked but couldn't start the engine. What should I try? Change the starter? if i need parts, I will grab from store and try to fix it in parking lot. if not, I have to tow it to dealer tomorrow.

I currently noticed something today, that my euro LED taillights (HELLA smoked) are strobing when i start up my car, only the LEDs (Amber and the brake light). It strobes for a couple of seconds. know for a fact, that it never happened before. After the start up and the strobing for a couple of seconds everything gets back to normal. What could the problem be ?

2.0t 2006 auto Passat: Push key in, car turns over, rpms settle out, then drop out and battery light comes on. When this happens it will do it several times then fire up normal. I tryed starting it with the gas mashed and it fired up revs went up then dropped out and died. This has only started happening today. Also about a year ago had a problem with battery draining after car sits over night or for long periods of time. After VW replaced a few relays and assorted parts they changed out a window motor and that seems to have fixed that issue. No problems till now.

I have a 06 Passat with a V6 with 80K on it. Recently I have been getting intermittent stalling at start up, only when the engine is warm(but once on a really hot day). The car will rev slightly and stall. After several attempts, it will start, and then it runs fine. VW service said no error codes and didn't offer much more.

I drove my 2006 Passat 2.0T at night a few days ago. And I forgot to shut off the light. It came out that my battery was drained completely. After doing a jump start under my friend's assistance, I was able to run it again. But my radio remains dead, meaning it won't turn on by all means.

Car dumbie back again with another question.The diagnostic for my check engine light indicates numerous cold start misfire codes. The cylinders are OK. That was checked during the diagnostic.The fuel intake is carboned up. It is recommended that I clean the intake manifold. Does this mean cleaning the fuel injectors, the throttle body or both? 2006 Passat VW....

It seems that I'm having issues with playing my IPod through my stereo on my '09 Sonata. I'm using the factory radio with the IPod connection in the console. I bought the cable from EBay. Sometimes the IPod will just pause and stop playing. Sometimes I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work, other times I can just switch sources and switch back and it will work again. Also, isn't it supposed to charge the IPod also? I have left it for overnight a few times without unplugging it and when I came back in the morning, it would not play because it was dead. It did not even start to charge once I started the car up.

So my Passat won't start. Last night I went to turn it on, and half way through the start up sequence it quit. Now when I turn the key I get nothing. There's power to the headlights and everything, and the mechanic I've talked to said it's probably the battery anyways. When I do turn the key, you can hear the clicking under the hood, so I'm semi-optimistic that it's not the starter.

I just Installed a RTX HID Kit for my Passat 2014. I followed this guide.
The Lights work perfectly when the Engine is off but when I start the car, the lights start flashing like its missing the 12V required to run. Did I miss something? Do I need to Install a resistance?

So I picked up a 2002 passat 1.8T autotragic from a guy because a shop said it had a bad computer. After bringing it home and talking to some local volkswagen mechanics they said it couldn't be the computer because the car would still crank. I jumped the trigger wires and the car starts right up no problems and runs perfect for sitting for a year. My question is what could be the problem? I changed the ignition switch and replaced the 40amp fuse by the computer. I am trying to flip the car so I am hoping its not a big problem and have to part the car out.

My 06 azera will not crank or start some times. I put the Key in and nothing happens. The lights and radio all the bells and whistles work but the car wont start or crank. I turn the key and nothing, just silence. I take the key out and wait for 2 to 5 minutes at most then the car starts. I have taken it to the dealer and because the problem will not replicate itself for them, they can not fix it.

OK, so I just installed an iPod/iPhone interface on my 2006 VW Passat 3.6. This plugs into the factory stereo and lets you charge your phone or listen to music.
So once it was all done, I could not shift out of park. Then I get a message for parking brake fault and airbag fault. Also, I see the icon for something with the steering wheel and the ESP is off. I have disconnected the battery several times and still no change. I also have a check engine light on.
The ESP will not turn back on no matter how long I hold the button. I have replaced the brake switch but that did not work.

More times than not lately when I try to start the car, it will turn over then die out right away. Sometimes stay running for 2 seconds, rpms go up to about 1200 then shuts right off. It is sparatic, but can take 20-30 times of starting to happen then. Car has 44k on it.

So I'm on my 3rd B6, First was a 2006 2.0t Komfort w/ convenience (one of the first off the line!), the second was a 2008 2.0t Lux and now I've got a 2008 VR6 w/ Sport 2. ALL 3 have had the analog speedo (dash) be off by between 3 and 5 mph. Both '08's have the climatronic and when you put them into the diag mode and look at the speed readout, you can plainly see that they are off by approx. 5mph.
t's really annoying having to explain who drives the car that the speeds reads 5mph fast... Or continue to remind my wife that because the cruise is set to 80 means I'm going 75...

Since I've had a GPS, I have noticed that my speedometer on my '06 Passat is 3mph off. Is a GPS something I can take to the dealer to have my speeds fixed? I always wondered why people seemed to blow by me.
