So my left front dipped beam hasn't been working for a couple weeks and I finally went and got a couple replacement bulbs, put them in no problem (replaced both just so they would match) and it still doesn't work! The passenger side works fine, but the driver's side just tells me that it isn't working.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2011 tiguan 2.0tdi 4motion, around 3 days ago the left headlight dipped beam stopped working, I replaced the bulb with no avail, the sidelights, and high beam work, just nothing on dipped beam, at first the warning lamp illuminated with the message on the screen, of check left dipped beam, I've checked and have no voltage going to the connection the bulb connects to, now the warming light and message have dissapeared but still no headlight. Where to locate the fuse for the headlight...
View 4 RepliesI just put hid fogs in the B6 passat, everything is up and running fine. However, i keep getting "fog light defective front/right" in the info panel. I'm assuming its because they are HID. Any other coding needed to be done with Vag-com?
View 5 RepliesI recently took my Passat to the dealer because I got a message on the MFD saying that the steering column lock was defective. The car is still under warranty so I wasn't worry about the cost but I was expecting the dealer to have to change the entire steering column since I had read that the column lock is integral to the steering column.
When I picked up the car they told me that they only had to change the column lock. It appears that they have found a way to change the column lock only rather than the entire steering column. However what really through me for a loop was that they asked me for my second key and told me that they had to reprogram it.
Now I am wondering how the whole immobilizer, ECU, steering column lock and keys work when it comes to the programming. I want to understand this in the event that it happens again after the warranty expires so I can repair it myself. How the SKC code works and how to go about it if I need to swap the immobilizer or column lock module again in the future or even adapt a new key?
Just had this error come up in the MFD sat nite. Steering column locked up, had to pull key out and re-start. Everything was fine after that. I did have the same error about 2 years ago when I first bought it. Should I bring it up to the dealer, or just forget about it since it hadn't come back.
View 11 RepliesReplaced both bulbs (left and right even though only left was out) with fresh H7s and my left headlight still doesn't work. so i thought, maybe fuses, but manual only references fuse #5 on both left and right fuse boxes as headlight control - but for XENONs only. Since i don't have HIDs, there is no fuse in spot #5 in either fuse box. Any other fuses i should check that i may be overlooking in the manual?
View 3 RepliesSo today I got in my car and my mfd said dipped beam failure, so i checked and my passengers headlight was out. Is this a simple replacing the bulb job or something more serious?
View 8 RepliesMy passenger dipped beam headlamp has been out the last few days. VW said to replace the bulb. The one single bulb. That seems ridiculous to me. Is there something I'm missing?
View 2 RepliesBeen about 3 months now trying to figure out my issue in my 2006 passat 2.0t the front passenger low beam bulb keeps going out no matter what kind of bulb I use. They last for a week or two then burn out .When the do burn out they actually blow into pieces the only thing left are the wires in the bulb checked into everything I could think of looked at the plug of where the bulb plugs in checked the wires that connect to it ran as far as I could follow in the engine compartment all the wires seemed fine. And there's no moisture getting into the headlamp assembly.
View 9 RepliesSo I have MFD display errors for "main beam not working" on both sides but both of my headlights, lows and highs both work fine. this has been like this for a few months now. I can clear the codes with my VAGCOM and after a day or two they come right back. I do have LED license plate lights but for at least a year i only got the error code on startup for the plate lights but never headlights. A little confused as to what is tripping the headlight codes
View 3 RepliesI started my T-Reg this morning and got a "defective wheel on board" message in the MFI. It when away after about 10 minutes of driving. It was 16 degrees outside. I think that the cold weather does something weird to the wheel sensors. I've been getting tire pressure faults also, but they go away after a few minutes.
View 8 RepliesWhen I was in the touareg a few minutes before everything was fine. Then I unlocked it got in and inserted key and the steering will not unlock, ignition will not turn on, or starter crank. The battery voltage is fine all accessories work. I tried to disconnect the ground strap and reconnected, no change. When I closed the door I saw the red message come on stating "Steering Defective Workshop". The message doesn't always reappear.
View 11 RepliesCame back from car wash (probably no significance) pulled in garage turned off ignition and the title message came up in the center display. Car will not start. At this point I have no Vag Com and the car will not start.
View 2 RepliesThe summer has come and the ADR's radar overheats. I receive a massage : DEFECTIVE! . All cruise control functions are disabled. That means I don't have cruise control in the summer, Too bad. I just want to know if it is possible to deactivate ADR while keeping the regular cruise control on using VAG-COM without any hardware change.
View 24 RepliesI have a 2003 1.8L Volkswagen Passat which I hate to say I've been lax on taking care of. In the past year I've been good about getting the oil changed and using fully synthetic oil. I am now getting an error message that says STOP Check Oil Press. Stop Motor. I took the car to my mechanic who can't tell me exactly what's wrong. From what I'm reading here, it looks like I'm dealing with "sludge."
My car is at a little over 60,000 miles and I'm wondering what to do. I don't mind spending the money to fix the car, but I really don't know how to figure out exactly what's going on, and what I should do. The mechanic I took the car to is going to completely empty the oil and then get a gage of the true oil level...
I have an 2009 hyundai sonata.i just recently upgraded my phone from an android to apple. I had my other phone and I was using the usb drive to play my music. Now today i just got a new iphone and I tried to hook it up the same way via usb but it will not work. It wont read and a error message came up on the display saying usb driver not found.
View 1 RepliesI have an OBDII reader which works for every vehicle I have tested except for my 2007 Accent H/B and my wife's 2012 Elantra sedan. In both cases I get a " linking error" message. Do Hyundai vehicles require a special code reader?
View 3 RepliesThis morning on my way to work my 2006 2.5T XC90 engine lost major horsepower. I barely could creep ahead once the traffic light turned green. The exclamation point on the dash was lit and the error message said "Engine performance affected". I sputtered to the curb and put the vehicle in park. I depressed the gas pedal several times all the way to the floor with little reaction in engine rpms. I then shut off the engine and restarted. After this the warning lights went out and the engine ran fine. The outside temperature was -7F and my vehicle had been running for about 5 minutes.
View 4 RepliesWell, I recently had the "Airbag Fault" error message (along with the wonderful amber airbag light) both appear on my dash, and oddly enough, I haven't hit anything or bumped anything or done anything that could cause this error. I drive a 2001 VW 1.8T and she only has 48,000 miles on her.
View 1 RepliesMy DRL's are working. My lows are working, I think, but are dipped. Highs are working. What would make both sides dip? When I turn on the car, I don't think they are cycling.I just bought this car and need to get this fixed.
I have an Audi A4 cabriolet, and a Beetle Tdi. Love my Vdubs but they need some tlc!
