Passat (B6) :: 2006 - Clock Changes One Hour Every Time When Get In Car?

The clock on my wife's '06 2.0T changes one hour every time I get in it. Basically, it's either an hour fast or an hour slow every day.

View 9 RepliesI have a 2007 Passat Wolfsburg. It has less than 3,000 miles on it. The clock keeps jumping forward one hour all by itself. If I don't touch it eventually after a few starts it will correct itself and go back an hour. The minutes never change. I called the dealer and they said they never heard of this, but I could bring it in. What was the cause?
View 4 RepliesAs others have mentioned, changes you make to the time don't stick. My clock is always off an hour. Someone suggested changing the time zone setting to compensate for this. I've tried multiple time zones and the clock is always off an hour (either fast or slow).
View 5 RepliesSo I have this recurring problem where my passat will die while driving, and fail to start. Usually I know it will die because the accel. is sluggish and the power steering is dead (but no light) when i start it, but today that did not happen. It just died completely out of the blue.
When it dies, it cranks for a second, then stops and the dash screen/lights fade out. The most annoying part is that everytime, I get it towed, then it starts.
The first time it happened the dealer said nothing was wrong. It started for them fine. Kept it overnight, and was good next day. Died a month later from same thing.
Second time the dealer said the alternator and battery were bad, got both replaced. (about 6 months ago).
Today it died again, with no symptoms beforehand. Tried for a while to start it, no go. Nothing engine related worked. Auxiliary did though. Had AC / Radio / Hazards just fine, i only used hazards though.
Got it towed, and I myself went and started it right after it got off the truck, it started. Had to give it gas to get it stable, but it started. I had the dealer check it out, and they said they found 3 fault codes that they have never seen, then later told me they did not know, and didn't want to blame anything unless they were sure.
This was right in the middle of a vacation trip 2 hours from home, and I decided i should just turn back. On the way back I noticed that the AC, Cig Lighter, and Heated Seats were not working. On top of that the car felt like it would die at any moment. Almost no throttle, sounded very weak / quiet. And about 25min in the car started stuttering, like it was about to give up. I pulled into a parking lot and tried it 20min later, started completely fine. No sluggishness, but AC etc still out. After that I got it home fine.
Noticed that the clock speeds up all on its own. I will set it correctly and then within a weeks time it will be minutes faster.
View 14 RepliesIs the overhead console clock supposed to be on all the time?
View 15 RepliesSo everything in my car has no memory issues but my clock always says 1:00 ... when I start the car....
I have tried another control unit (the climate control, nav screen, etc buttons) where the clock is located to see if I had a bad unit and it still did the same thing.
I have a brand new battery from Lexus and everything else in the car seems to be fine....this was an issue before I bought the new battery.
The battery has not been disconnected. Any answers?
View 4 RepliesI have an 2000 lexus RX 300 AWD with an intermittent abs light and clock that will not keep the correct time, a bad ground? No codes.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero 4 cylinder with 127K miles. After driving for a period of 30 to 45 minutes, it will cut off and it takes 30 minutes to an hour before it will restart. I have had the fuel pump, crankshaft position sensor, ignition control module, coil pack and computer replaced and I am still having the same problem. What might be causing this?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius base model. The dash clock loses almost 3-4 minutes a day. Its still under warranty so I'll likely take it into the dealer and get it checked out..
The only thing "different" is I have a Garmin HD Bluetooth connector (which streams engine stats like the Scanguage does to my GPS unit) hooked up to the OBDII port..but that *should* not cause any issues I think.
I have a 2011 xle camry with navigation that I cannot change the clock with daylight savings time. It is still an hour off.
1) I have already configured it for daylight savings time.
2) Tried to earlier time zone
3) I have adjust time zone by an hour
Is there a firmware update to make this happen? What am I missing?
Everyday when I start my car the time is 3-5 minutes behind. I reset it each time and I'm still having the same problem. I have a 2013 and it's the original battery if that might have anything to do with. I just tested the voltage and that's good.
View 6 RepliesRecently purchased a certified 2010 Prius III. The clock was set in military time, I am able to change the time but not get it out of the military mode. I only have the quick start and nav manuals and they are not useful.
View 1 RepliesI noticed on a few occasions this weekend that the clock is not changing when the time does. It will go 10 -12 minutes usually and then change. However one time it went almost an hour and a half before it changed. I am lost. I've looked for a setting that my son or I may have changed, and read the manual, but still can not find anything about it. At first, I thought it was because I didn't have anything on in the truck. No radio, navi, anything. But after turning it on, still does it.
View 14 RepliesMy '15 sonata Limited w/ Tech package has been having some issues appear with the clock on the Navigation unit.
A few weeks back, I noticed that the Date/time display across the top of the navigation screen was showing May 28. When I dug down into the clock settings, it was pulling the date May 28, year 2035 from the GPS signal. Each day it would increment to the next day.
Then last week, the date and time would not load across the screen at all. Only the normal blue bar appears across the screen without any text or numbers.
With the Daylight Savings time change over the weekend, I tried to change the time on the LCD clock in the middle of the dashboard, the clock settings are grayed out and I can not change anything.
I already hit the reset button next to the knob on the dash, and also pulled the 15A fuse but neither one worked to reset anything.
I have a 97 toyota avalon. I just had the battery and alternator changed. Now my clock does not keep correct time (I believe this is only when the car is not running). Also my dome light will not work any longer. My car auto lock does does not lock on its own any more, and if I use the power locks and turn on the dome light, the car unlocks, but the dome light still does not come on. This all started about a week or two ago after installing the alternator.
View 7 Replies9000 Miles latter: The driver side heated seat has given up the ghost. Also, the digital clock on the dash keep gaining time. VW says there is nothing wrong with the computer and they have thrown up there hands.
The clock has probably gained an hour in the last month. I know the car is German not Swiss but a digital clock should not do this and causes me concern that there might be other ECU issues.
Does this look like a bulb may be burnt out?
It is dark between 5 o'clock on the speedo and 8 o'clock on the tach.
Where are the dash lights and what type are they?
OK, so I was gone for about a week and my Sonata's been sitting in the basement the whole time. When I went to start it this morning, the starter spins for about two fires then stops. I release the key, try again and it's fine. Once I got to work, I killed it then started it again and it was fine. I'll be heading home in about 30 minutes to see if it does it once again. It shouldn't be due to the cold; it's about 50-60*F in the basement. It turned over just fine, so it wasn't battery or power related. I'm hoping it was just some kind of fluke, but I'm also paranoid after seeing the recent surge of Sonata problems.
Oh yeah, and last time I went on a trip both my cars had problems. The Sonata had a leaking tire and the Jeep had a failing alternator. Now my jeep gets backed into while at the parking lot and my Sonata doesn't start the first try.
I have a 2006 Camry with a steering vibration at 60-65 miles per hour. I have looked at all of the Threads for similar problems but everyone is guessing at the cause....stating "Check the alignment, check tire pressures, check the wheel balance, check the wheel bearings."
I have checked all of these things to the best of my ability and there does not seem to be a problem there. I bought new tires and had the front end aligned. Vibration still there. Had tires balanced 3 different times. VIBRATION STILL THERE. Removed wheels and inspected all suspension parts. No obvious problem seen. Switched tires front to back then left to right then front to back again. VIBRATION STILL THERE.
Forgot to mention that the right front is wearing on the inside but the alignment checks out. I had the alignment re-checked at the tire dealer and then checked it myself later in the month using toe plates that we have in the shop for our SCCA ITB Club Racer. Is there a Recall that I am not aware of ?????
