I have 06 passat 2.0L. When I turn on my cabin fan its making a noise like when a piece of paper is hitting a fan or something but a heavier sound. How do I get to the blower motor to see if something is stuck in there or something came loose?
View 2 RepliesI have had my car at the dealership once before for fixing some rattling noise in the cabin. That was a couple of months or so ago. The rattling is back again, this time from the front doors area and from the front speakers or dash area near the speakers.

View 1 RepliesI bought the car with it a bit over 3 months ago, that was the only problem and simply couldn't pass the deal. Even used car dealer didn't know what it was.
You can only hear it when you go over 50-55+ mph and it comes from cabin air filter area.
I already changed cabin air filter, the other day I replaced filter tray as well due to broken clips. Cleaned the whole area real good and still can't get it to stop whining.
I have bought a new 2008 Passat about 4 months ago. about 2 months ago, this weird pressure could be felt from the inside similar to having the sunroof opened or the rear windows opened. I took it to my dealer twice and they say that they don't feel/hear anything. I went on a 200 mile trip and regretted taking the passat only 20 miles into it. the pressure/noise thing is unbearable! I seriously am thinking of crashing this thing and making my insurance switch cars. it was never like this when i got it. I would never buy a car like that! I checked to see if the tires were the problem but found nothing. i am so frustrated at the dealer and with this car that it just sits there not being driven because i can not stand driving it. Again, it makes a weird pressure/noise feeling as if the windows are opened but they aren't!
View 13 RepliesI have 06 gs300 AWD and recently it started to make that noise. At first I thought my shock/struts went bad and i had it inspect and they are good, ball joint and control arms also good. However, I do not know if strut mount is bad or not. When I go over small cracks i can hear rattles inside but when i let my windows down I hear less. I do not know if the window or door has to do something with it. It seems like coming from passenger side. Btw sometimes i do feel even dashboard rattles a bit.
View 10 Repliesok my passat is makes noise going over bumps. it sounds just like clankly raddle. i checked under neath there appears to be nothing loose. but idk, the shocks seem to be fine. it just started to happen after i had the pads and rotors replaced. oh it is in the back.
View 8 RepliesTook my car to the garage needed new back rotors and brakes on my 2010 sonata. I have about 27000 miles on the car. Car is now making a funny noise when I back up ,took it back to shop and he said I needed to break in the brakes. Okay a week and a half later still making that noise!
Nervous because I found out after sitting for two hours in the shop that they were short handed and had to wait for a delivery because they ordered the wrong brakes from the auto parts store. Yes I know ..but I did not want to go to the dealer so I gave firestone a shot.
Weird noise coming out from under their hood after about 15-30 seconds of shutting off their car? it's like something mechanical is pumping/draining outta the brake system area .....

View 3 RepliesMy wife's 2000 Passat 2.8 V6 has been making a clunking noise when you hit the gas for quite a while. I finally got the time to look under the hood and noticed that the engine (when the car is in drive) is rearing back and making a loud clunk noise. I thought at first it was a motor mount but this picture is what I found. It is a mount that comes off a spindle that is directly in the center of the engine and right under the radiator... I have been told it is a "snub mount", "front engine mount", "torque rod mount", etc.
The problem is, when I call around to the local parts places no one has a clue what I am asking for. So what I need is for someone to ID the mount and then point me in the right direction on were to purchase it. Also if there is a write up on how to change it, that would be very useful too. I noticed that it looks a lot like the APR "snub mount" I am looking at for my 1.8T A4 and they have very detailed directions on how to change it. Is this the same thing? Can I buy it at a VW dealership?
my P/S is making whining weird noises i checked the reservoir and there it is low fluid. question is there a nipple somewhere that i can bleed the air i'm not sure if i am right on this one but i have a feeling that when i ran low on fluid i created an aeration in my pump,reservoir?
View 2 RepliesIt makes a noise as if I have my turn signal on, although when the turn signal aren't on, the ticking sound continues. I replaced the whole unit, and it did not fix it. My Dad says it has to be a bad Turn Signal Relay, but where do I find one in my car? How will i know that it's that? Is there a diagram of relays anywhere online?

View 12 RepliesAccidently ejected my map dvd...located just under my Nav screen under a piece that has Lexus on it. It slides right up and the dvd came out. Cant get it to stay in now. Only makes clicking sound! So frustrated. How do I get the dvd player out? Removing the dashboard? My dvd player isn't in the dashboard though!

After I press the button it sounds like the recirc flaps are trying to actuate but are broken or the motor is not working. It makes two different distinct noises when going into recirc and out of recirc. How hard this is to fix since I'm sure it is located in the dash.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2000 Passat V6 with about 75k miles. This week, my car has been making these piercing/whistling noises regardless of whether or not I'm pressing the gas. It usually occurs from 20-50 mph. Above 50 mph, there is no noise. The noise eminates from under the car, mostly on the right hand side. My brakes screech too, but they've been doing that for about 2 months now. And that screeching is a different noise.

I have done a search on power tail gate issues on 07 Passat wagons. I have not found many. The issue that I have, when the tail gate is fully open to the top and then go to close it, it make a snap noise. In my mine it sounds like a detent lock releasing. It use to do this on in the past on odd occasions. It appears to be more frequent. It does do it if you go to close it right away. My wife even mention yesterday that she noticed it. The operation works just fine.
