I have always seemed to have a moderate amount of water condensation on the glass inside the driver's side headlight. How does it get started and how do I rid myself of this small problem?

View 3 RepliesMy father recently bought a used 2014 IS250. After washing the vehicle there was a significant amount of condensation (water) in the passenger side headlight. After visiting the dealership for window tints the dealership denied to fix it warranty due to the fact that it was involved in a accident with the previous owner which is completely understandable. I recently bought a replacement new oem headlight to replace it. Would it be too difficult to install myself, is it just plug and play?
View 3 RepliesAfter detailing my car and prepping for winter I noticed moisture in the driver's side headlight. I know this is a common problem with many makes and models besides Lexus and I've done quite a bit of research to re-seal the light. I want to start with the basics first such as checking the vent tube for clogs. Need to point out that vent tube in a photo? I've looked all over and cannot seem to find this tube.
When I was detailing I was using a high-pressure washer. There was quite a bit of moisture and it dried within a few days. I was hoping it was from the high-pressure washer but now it came back. It seems to have come back just from using the headlight washer when I used my windshield washer.
I double checked the dust cap and o-ring seems to be fine. My next task is to remove the headlight assembly and reseal. I've read that some people have luck with just applying a bead along the seal without completely disassembling the lens and resealing (baking method). I'd rather not have to do the entire baking method although I know that can be more thorough.
Am I missing anything here in terms of other known causes? And would a clogged vent tube really cause this?
I don't suppose there is any easy way to clean this. I was going to remove a black cover directly above the bulbs but there is a notice on the black cover right behind it warning of tampering with air bag sensor. I assume its not in the front cover but looking further it doesn't look like I will have any access to the area I want to clean by removing it. 68k on 07 azera. Too soon for this,no?
View 1 RepliesI have a Subaru Forester 2006. This year, noticed condensation in driver's side headlight after a heavy rain. Not too long after, the headlight blew. (My headlights have been blowing at a frightening rate, but that might be a different thread for another time.). We changed the light and did our best to dry out the inside of the housing. We also checked for leaks by blowing air into the housing, with no luck at finding anything obvious. We put a little flashing on the inside, thinking there might be a problem with the rubber gasket.
Next rain, same problem. We also noticed in a parking lot another Forester, similar vintage, with condensation in both of its headlights. Is this a known problem...
I had the headlight replaced in my 2008 Toyota Prius and now after the first rain condensation is building up inside.

View 8 RepliesThere is water condensation (not much) behind the section of my drivers side headlight assembly where the turn signal is located and it REALLY bugs the hell out of me. The only way I could think it got there was when I was washing under the hood. The good news is the turn signal socket is easy to access and remove.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 Prius and there is water coming into the drivers side floor. We believe this may have been going on for awhile and didn't realize it. My son drove the car and there was a "smell" that started about a year ago and I thought he spilled something inside the car.
View 7 RepliesWhen it rains I get puddles inside on the passenger side. I haven't seen where it enters but it doesn't appear to be from the moon roof, or the windows (doors seem dry) so I assume it's from one of the doors but the weatherstripping looks to be intact. It looks like there's a rubber outlet in the hinge area of the front door - could it be from there?
View 9 RepliesLike the title says I have some pretty bad condensation in my passenger side headlight, i have the LED headlamps. I'm bringing the car in for its 6 month service next week so the problem should be fixed then. I'm interested to see what happened, You'd expect headlights that cost over a thousand dollars a piece not to be having problems like this after only 6 months.

View 14 RepliesI have the Chinese LED-stripe headlights, and I've been getting condensation in them lately. The weather hasn't been particularly warm, cold, or humid lately, but it happens every time I use them. It does evaporate over time, but it is quite a bit of moisture when it occurs (definitely noticeable, and dripping down the entire front inside the housing). With winter coming, I'm worried about this continuing to happen and freezing, etc. Is there something I might have done wrong when I installed them? This is not a case of water getting into the light housings--it almost seems like I need to do something to vent them, however, to see if that prevents the issue.

View 14 RepliesI dropped off my 2012 Passat to the dealer this morning because the driver's DRL was out and the passenger headlight was out. Normally I'd change bulbs myself and be on my way but since this is new and under warranty, I let them do the work.
Anyway, fixed the DRL (bad bulb). But the passenger headlight assembly needs replacing. Seems I have fallen victim to a melted housing causing a failure. I've read about the situation somewhere here on the forums and suspected it might be the case. So VW is 2-3 days out on getting a new part and I'm in a loaner for the time being.
I'm guessing this happens a lot with this part. I wonder if VW will issue a recall in the future.
How to get rid of humidity in headlight to stop condensation? I was installing LDRs and needed to hook up a wire to the side markers, when i put back the rubber on the back of the headlight i must of done it wrong because its not there anymore so i guess its sitting somewhere on the bottom of the engine bay.

After my last car wash this happened and it's been like this a few days now, how to get rid of it. I can't really afford to drop $1000 on a new headlight. I've heard of the baking method but not sure I would trust myself to do that. Any tricks?
View 10 RepliesA few weeks back I started noticing the driver's side headlight would go out when I started up the car after work. If I drove it around & restarted about 10 mins later, the headlight would come back on, got sick of that after a week so I replaced the bulb and the same thing happens. It happens only when I leave work, any other time it's fine, even went on vacation for a week w/out any probs. The only thing I can think of is the heat from sitting out on the parking lot all day does something, what might be going on?
