View 9 RepliesMy 2007 Camry has developed a loud popping noise when sliding the sunroof open. It's as though the sunroof is getting caught under the vehicle roof before it moves to slide open. The motor labors pushing the sunroof past vehicle roof. I see no obvious obstruction. The sunroof makes no noise when going to the tilt position. I have tried the initialize process, but the problem persists.

View 5 RepliesNot sure what's up with my car at the moment guys, but it seems. Whenever I go above about 55mph it feels as if the car is sliding back and forth. Its most noticeable at about 65mph where you can see the speedometer nudge backwards and forwards maybe 2/3mph at a time. I'm not sure if the engine is doing this but it does feel like it stops the starts then stop and starts etc. I'd say its also more noticeable in cruise control also. Car is an automatic 2.0L engine ...
View 2 RepliesThe middle sliding seat has jammed and I cannot get it back into the regular sitting position. I don't see any obvious obstructions, but there are a couple of springs not attached, and I may be missing a connecting rod.
Any pictures of how a "normal" mechanism should look like?
My driver seat has started moving on its own, sliding back and reclining. 1 have a 2008 Azera, 45,000 mi
View 4 RepliesOne of my Aerostar pet peeves is to do with the sliding door alignment, or should I say slight misalignment.
Some of the alignment problems can be attributed to worn out nylon roller bearings. Make sure the roller guide ways are clean of any foreign debris. When you car wash your Aero, make sure to also clean the interior roller guide way (open the sliding door and thoroughly clean around the area where the bottom sliding door wheel travels).
After 20 years of usage, the sliding door will eventually drop down and back a few millimeters. Some of the symptoms associated with this will be a sporadic loss of electrical contact with those that are outfitted with electrical door locks. Also, the sliding door may also require some manual assistance at back edge to open the door. It can become somewhat frustrating, and perhaps a little embarrassing when parked beside a newer vehicle outfitted with automatic door opening/closing mechanisms.
I am not sure if the elevation of the sliding door can be adjusted at the rear or in the middle, but I do know that the horizontal position of the sliding door can be adjusted to a certain degree. The vertical position can be only adjusted by a very tiny amount.
1) Remove all of screws on the sliding door interior panel, and as well as the torx screw on the open/close barbaric door handle.
2) The bottom panel, other than the screws, has 2 plastic/nylon semi-resuble flat headed holder fittings.
3) Remove the two interior rubber grommets at the rear edge of the door. This will reveal 3 adjustment bolts.
4) Loosen the bolts, then push the door a bit forward while holding the middle hinge. Don't push too much! Just a little.
5) Re-tighten the middle handle bolts, and subsequently re-adjust the striker bolt. This is a PITA to align properly.
It seems my sunroof will open all the way and close but it will NOT raise up in the back those couple of inches it used. it just doesn't respond to the pressure on the switch....
View 7 RepliesI noticed that the back of my sunroof is not perfectly aligned with the roof line. When i push on it from the inside it goes up and aligns properly so i was wondering if there is an "easy" way to adjust it so that it stays flushed permanently .
View 7 RepliesI have a 2007 Azera with a sunroof problem. Went to open the sunroof and found out it would not slide back, it would only lift up in the back. Went to close it and it would lower some, but not all the way. It goes to lower but then there is a click in the mechanism and it won't close completely. Tried the manual close to no avail.
View 3 RepliesI was trying to close my sunroof just now and it starts to close but it stops just before the end and opens back up again!! What do i do about it?
View 10 RepliesI have a 2007 nissan Altima and the sun roof is not working. It does not go back when you press the button. The vent will go up when you press the vent button on the sunroof but the sunroof itself will not go back. I have checked fuses and it's not that. Also it seems that the top of the sunroof on the outside of the car seems to be dropping down slightly on the left side. Could it be off track?
View 2 RepliesI was noticing that the shade for the sunroof does not slide back 100%. It seems like they could have made it go back another inch or 2.
View 16 Replies2014 Elantra GLS ... Upon closing, and just as it reaches the wind defector, the Sunroof will " kick back" no apparent reason. This may happen once, twice in a row or not at all. I have checked the sunroof path and the wind defector, but no obstructions are visible.
View 2 RepliesMy 2008 has about 49k miles on her and my Moonroof started acting up the other day. The tilt function works perfectly. It even slides out to max open, however when I attempt to close it, it closes about 2/3 of the way then it acts as if it senses something in the way and opens all the way back up. I didn't take anything apart, but didn't notice anything in the rails. I also didn't hear any sort of grinding or stalling on the motor. If the motor is going bad?
View 2 RepliesI'm looking for directions on how to disassemble the sun roof to figure out which part is broken. It slides open and closed but will not tilt up. (It will tilt by pushing up on it from inside but won't stay open; it just falls back in place).
View 1 RepliesI did a search on this and have read a few issues.
- possible bad welds
- Creaking needing lubrication/readjusting
I have had my tiguan 1 month.. bought preowned and it creaks where appears to be the meeting point to the sunroof/back glass when closed.
VW doesn't seem to care as its a rattle, but there must be something i can do. Which areas do people lubricate? and if it is indeed metal/metal rattling at the meet point, how to adjust this? I tried letting the sunroof reset itself but to no improvement.
I've had every lexus model (besides the LFA) and I just purchased another GS 350. Now I know I know....dealership can set the settings for my unlock button to automatically set my windows down and sunroof back. But as we all know going to the dealership for anything is so annoying. That being said.... How to set/program it?

The power Tailgate window works but the sunroof doesn't and i noticed tonight that the button for the tailgate window is illuminated green signifying it has power but the sunroof button right next to it is not illuminated. I just bought the truck yesterday and knew that the sunroof didn't work. i figured i could fix it i just am not sure where to start yet.
It looks like the sunroof might have leaked before and so the previous owner sealed it with silicone from the roof of the truck. i removed the silicone and made the sunroof free to open and close but i still have the issue that there is no power to the sunroof. i was thinking maybe the motor burned out because it couldn't move and that someone had tried to open it while it was glued shut, but that still doesn't explain the light not coming on.
Came in on a cool cloudy morning to work. I listened to the torrential downpours all morning, then it cleared out. When I went out to the lot at quitting time, I was horrified to see the sunroof open. When I got in the car, it was dry, so sometime after the storms moved out, it got opened. I do leave the car unlocked, but can't imagine someone opened it, in fact I think you can't after the key has been removed for a while. Should I pull the fuse to it???
View 7 RepliesMy girlfriend drives a 99 Passat and while driving the other day the sun roof opened on it's own. moving the switch did nothing. We had to manually close the sunroof. a few minutes later it did it again. Usually I'd tell her she's nuts and imagining things but i was in the car while it happened.
