So while driving my mom's 99 passat, after a few miles it gives six loud beeps, the BRAKE light comes on, the oil pressure warning light starts flashing, the ABS light flashes, and the tach sits at zero.
Brakes still work, havent tested ABS. there's no noticeable change in performance. I'm assuming this is the CCM and ABS modules on their last breaths.
Yesterday while driving my B5 Passat suddenly I heard 2 beeps and a STOP is displayed together with the ABS and brake warning lights just for a few seconds then turned to normal. I took the car to the VW service they've connected the car to the diagnostic system and said no fault. Since yesterday I saw this warning 1 more time. They recommended me to replace the break fluid tank where the fluid level sensor is mounted on, just for replacing the sensor since the fluid level is ok.
Today while the engine is running at idle I pulled out the break fluid sensor cable for 1 or 2 minutes but nothing is displayed and saw no break indication. What will be reason for this?
My friends 2006 Escape has the ( low pressure warning light) flashing on for about 10 seconds after starting the engine. All tires are at correct pressure. What is causing this?

Two days after I pick up the car, the ABS light and brake warning lights start flashing intermittently. They'd come on at random times, and then turn back off. After about 2 weeks of this, the warning lights are now on all the time.
I've read elsewhere on these forums that the ABS module on our cars can go bad and might need to be rebuilt. But is it possible that the mechanic caused this problem when he was working on the brakes to replace my caliper? Could it be something more minor than the ABS module? I now have reason to believe this mechanic is shady, so I'm hesitant to bring it back there.
2004 v8 phaeton. I have the brake warning light flashing, and the message

I have a 1999 vw passat and i have the abs light on all the time ( was told its the abs module)? Brake light flashing too but i am really only concerned about the beeping sound i get 80% of the time after i come to a stop and accelerate then oil pressure light comes on and it beeps 3 times and goes away til i stop again????? What is making the car beep?
View 1 RepliesI got a loud beep and MFI warning "Brake Light Failure" indicating my bulb was out in the right rear brake light. A friend was behind me, I called his cell phone and he said, yup, its out. Then after a few mins of driving, the warning went off and the brake light was again functioning. This has then happened to me twice more over the course of about a week. The brake light still works, but I get a failure and warning sporadically.

View 7 RepliesI let my car sit for about a month and about a quart of oil leaked out of it. I drove the car and got the "low oil pressure" light and the STOP warning!. I refilled the engine with oil but now every 5 minutes or so i get the stop warning and then i turn the engine off. If I wait I can drive the car another 5 minutes or so before the warning light goes on. What could be wrong?

View 3 RepliesMy in-laws have a Passat with an errant oil sensor that throws warnings even though the engine is "fine" oil-wise. My information on the car is incomplete but I'll do my best - it is is 1999 or a 2000 with about 175k miles, it has the 1.8L turbo engine, the transmission is Tiptronic, the factory radio is installed and has never been removed, and there is nothing actually "wrong" regarding engine oil (it is the correct type, checking it several times shows correct level, no weird non-lubricating sounds from the engine nor anything like overheating, etc).
Every once in a while during all kinds of driving (not related to RPMs, weather, etc.) the oil warning light comes on and a subset of those times is accompanied by a LOUD three beep alarm. Is there any way to tell the car to chill out with the audio alarm and just blink the light? Unfortunately "replace the sensor" isn't an option the owners seem willing to consider, so I'm looking for alternatives.
This has been verified by multiple mechanics over time as being a sensor issue, and there is no oil issue, I just want to attempt to stop the annoying reactions people have when the car constantly beeps at them (ridicule all you like, I am only asking about disabling the beep not both the beep and the light and ONLY in the case of warnings caused by this specific failed sensor, which will never be replaced).
I have a 2000 Passat 1.8t I was driving along when suddenly it felt like I lost 3 cylinders and the engine light was flashing. I nursed it a couple miles to a gas station and it was making a loud noise and smoking ALOT I shut it off and had it towed home.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2007 Passat Wlfsburg Edition with 4,300 miles on it. In the message center it stated "Tire Pressure Too Low!" There is also a tire yellow warning light lit. I checked the tire pressure. They were all at 30 psi. I inflated them to 33 psi as stated on the door jamb. The light and message are still there. I checked the owners manual and it doesn't say how to reset it or anything. What should I do?
View 24 RepliesSo tonight I'm driving on I-80 and all of a sudden I hear a thud, the TPMS light comes on and a warning of low tire pressure. I get out to take a lot and the rear left tire is practically flat. Changing the tire was pretty easy once I figured out where everything was in the tray.
So now I'm in the market for a replacement tire as there was a huge hole in tread. I have a about 3000 miles on the car. Would you get a replacement tire that is the same make/model as the rest of the tires, or would you simply get a cheaper replacement? Once I am ready to replace the rest of the tires, I'm not sure if I would replace them with the OEM make/model anyway. At the same time I'm not sure how long the OEM's will last.
2001 01 1.8t... Hoping this isn't a bad ABS module. When I bought the car, I was told it was a bad wheel sensor in the drivers side. But, the funny part about this is its not on all the time, sometimes it doesn't even come on and the dash is normal.
View 3 RepliesI own a 2002 Passat 1.8T. The oil pressure light came on a few weeks ago and I took it in to be looked at. The oil pressure at idle and at 2000 rpm's was fine so they thought it might be the Oil Pressure Sender. Picked up the car and lo and behold, the light continued to come on. Took it back for service. This time the oil pressure levels were lower than spec so, they changed the Oil Pump, tested the pressure and all checked out to be within spec. 15 miles into my drive home, the light was on again. Not sure what to look at now. What to do next?
View 3 RepliesI currently have a MK5 Jetta and my wife's van lease is up. I'm looking at picking up a 2001 Wagon 1.8t and giving her the Jetta. It checks out real well, the only issue is the oil pressure warning comes on after about 5-10 minutes of driving. Turn the car off and back on it goes away. He changed the oil when he got it a couple weeks ago, and didn't change the filter, he's taking it to his shop to have it re-done, and he was going to drop the pan and check the screen and pick-up and such. Has this been an issue or what may cause this?
