The rear driver side running lights don't work, brakes blinker and reverse lights work fine, I tried the panel from the pass side on the right side and the same thing happened everything else but running lights. Where do I start ?

View 3 Replies1998 passat. the drivers side rear door functions don't work; the power window does not work and the power door lock does not operate in the door. the other 3 doors work fine- power windows and locks. I do not have the bentley for this car so I am working at a disadvantage; where does the power for the door come from? any kind of control box? relay? fuse?

1 week ago $2 tire pressure gauge fell through the slots on the left side of the trunk inside, I have tried to reach it, but to no avail(touched wires, which goes to the rear/stops driver's side several times).
Today I noticed one of my side markers was not working, I turned on lights, tried to change bulb in it and as of now neither marker nor left front light(that small upper bulb in bigger bulb slot) nor rear lights work.
Low and high beam are ok on both sides.
All my lights on the driver side don't work, replaced brake light and then nothing. Would it be a fuse? if so which one or wiring and how would I go about finding the fault.

After using the search function, it seems replacing the door lock actuator/solenoid solves this problem, but I could only find a diagram showing how to get at it on the drivers front door, not a rear door.
Looking for a diagram on how to do this, or info on it?
Just noticed this that my passenger side works perfect but drivers side running board lights (both) do not light up---Is there a fuse to each side, I looked and didn't see anything unless I'm missing something.

I'll take my car to the body shop next week, but I'm wondering what is causing this problem. Basically, I want to know how the door touch lock operates. Does it have any sensors attached to the door handle?
View 4 RepliesSo this is my problem. So my driver's running boards lights weren't working, but my passenger side was, I had ordered brand new lights and bulbs so I decided to start with my driver side. After I had taken out the light itself and the bulb I found out that the connector was corroded and the new bulbs when I put them in wouldn't work, so I cut the wires and sliced new wires together probably very amateurly. I started with the backlight and that one went well then move to the front driver side running board light and after I had plugged in the light they all stopped working along with my power windows, my power seats, the interior dome lights, my mileage on my instrument cluster doesn't show anymore. By the way when I was checking this fuse box I noticed that 35 was blown which is a 10 amp fuse which goes to the instrument cluster, so I replaced it with a new 10 amp and it blew immediately what could be going on.

View 6 RepliesSo my battery had died and just got a new one. But i noticed that my automatic up/down on the drivers side window doesn't work, I have to keep pressing the button for it to go up or down.... the other 3 windows are working perfectly. Is there a way to fix this?
View 3 RepliesI had the heater core flushed, inspection done, a tie rod end replaced, and both low beams replaced to pass inspection in January. The driver's side low beam stopped working after a week.
When I would hit a bump in the road, it would start working for a while till I hit another bump and then it would go off. Now the driver's side low beam never works.
I could have gone back to the mechanic, but it's an 80 mile round trip(they used to be a lot cheaper than the dealership). Now that the weather is starting to get better, do you think it's a simple problem that I can fix myself? I don't want to waste 80 miles worth of gas just to have them charge me for something that they already charged me to fix. The next time I'm due an oil change I may go there and demand that they fix the light too, but I'm not going to waste 80 miles of gas just for the light.
Just a few days ago I noticed a new rattling sound from the rear shelf (2012 SEL). Showed it to the dealership a few days. They are going to have a look at it next week.
I tried pressing at various placed with my hand but could not pinpoint where it was coming from but it appeared to be somewhere from within the rear shelf on the driver side. Sounding like some loose plastic clanking against some metal.
Thought I'd share this since the car appears to have this recurring issue of rattling from various places.

In addition, they are going to investigate my touchscreen, as I've been having some red/white flickering issues when it is?
My brake lights on the drivers side do not come on when braking, however, the regular nighttime lights are fine. Does this mean the probem is the brake light switch? The right side brake lights are fine. Where is the brake light switch and how do I access it?
View 2 RepliesIn April of this year I had a large amount of water in the rear passenger area..Long story short it was the pollen filter..Dealership got it covered with my extended warranty, but yet I had to pay 1200.00 to replace the carpet..They also replaced the Control unit?? Wiring harness and housing...So, now fast forward to 2 days ago. I had a FLOOD in the rear DRIVER seat this time.I called to let them know and they said to bring it in Monday for emergency appt..My plan was to drop it off Sunday evening..during the night of rain we had Saturday I hear a god awful noise at 4 Am..My car is all lit up in orange lights.We had to disc the battery to stop the noise and lights..later that morning we got the wet-vac and hooked up the battery again. It started fine, but then all the lights went crazy and everything got all whacked out.
My trunk no longer closes...so we disc the battery and call AAA to tow to dealer..They just called me now..of course they need it for a day or 2 to determine the problem and see if it is covered! it damn well better be..they got it covered last time. I am beyond irate at this point. No doubt the car is in the same condition as before...main computer is obviously screwed up again..If they think I am paying 1 penny they are sadly mistaken..twice in 2 months?? Something is definitely hinky here..last time before they determined it was the pollen filter, they told me they cleared all drainage area and ruled out all that so they can't tell me that was the problem this time..They can't get clogged in 2 months when for the past 5 years I have NEVER had this issue.
Driver side rear seat speakers are not working. Are they on a fuse? Haven't had time to look over the owner's manual. If not fused what else could be happening?
View 4 RepliesI've been noticing a tapping sound coming from the rear driver's side of the car recently, and it's only when idling after the car has warmed up. Someone has said that it may be the Leak Detection Pump located above the wheel well in the rear driver's side of the car. My question is does the tapping sound mean that it's going bad?

My Coming Home and Leaving Home functions are turned off due to the HID Headlights, but the interior lights worked fine since the HID installation in 11/13. It is a 2013 Passat SE 2.5. Is there a setting in VCDS for the interior light function.
