One of the rear doors on my Passat is jammed shut. If you lift the locking button it pulls itself back down and if you try to open the door from either inside or outside nothing happens, except lift the locking button up and down. I've taken the inside panel off as much as I can but don't know what to do now to open the door.

View 4 RepliesMy wife and I were rear ended over a year ago. Although the damage was mainly cosmetic to the bumper covering, it did cause a slight bend in the frame enough to prevent the rear door from opening. How to get this straightened enough to at least get the door to open and close.
My thoughts, the bend is not that severe it turns out, but I was thinking a torch at the point where the frame is bent and leverage pulling up on the bumper at each side.
I have a strange problem with my front left (driver door) doorlock. I've changed the speaker, so i hade to remove the door panel. When I try to reassemble the door panel and the door lock I have some problems. I get everything in place, but the problem is that the door lock gets jammed. When I only close the door (not locking the door) I can open the door. But when I lock the door, then unlock it, I don't manage to open the door. I then have to fast pull the outside two times real hard, and then the door opens. I have discovered the problem. The door seems fine when I remove this cable: But if I remove the cable, I can't open the door from the outside.

I have a 2007 golf 1.4, the rear door handle doesn't seem to be working and the child lock is enabled. I have been looking online and have struggled to find an answer for the mk6 golf.
- Tried so far- Standing there for about 5-10 minutes locking and unlocking the car while trying the handle
- Tried putting something down the side of the handle but either the coat hanger end is too fat or there isn't a gap like the mk 4/5's
- Tried hitting the handle bit where your thumb would be and just below there with a rubber mallet
Still no joy. The handle feels different from the other side which works so i am guessing the cables not attached to the catch behind.
My wife tried to close the hatchback door on our 2010 Prius I, something was in the way, she forced it and now I can't get the door to unlock. I tried the manual door release which is small metal lever on the lock assembly (as covered in the user manual); however, the lock won't release the striker. I've unbolted the lock assembly to see if the striker was jammed in the lock mechanism. I can now rock the lock assembly back and forth and I don't see any foreign objects in the locking mechanism, but still cannot open the lock. How to manually open the lock mechanism (is there somewhere I can apply pressure to force the mechanism to open and release the striker)? Again, the metal lever discussed in the user guide does not work.
View 3 RepliesMy MK4 golf has the rear passenger door shut, cannot be opened from inside or out. The outside handle has no tension, just floppy.
I managed to take the card off, even though I cannot open the door.
So my issue is if I keep dismantling til I get to the door lock, is there any simple way to open the door ? I've seen lots where people can change the lock if the door opens but can it be opened if the door is closed or do I somehow have to smash the lock ?
At least 3 times in the last 8 months of ownership I have shut the rear door on the passenger side and the car locked it's doors and armed the alarm.
View 7 RepliesThe drivers side rear door on our 2004 T'reg is stuck shut. Neither the interior or exterior door handle will open the door. I tried locking/unlocking it a few times, both with the remote and with the interior button. Is this a simple fix, or is it off to the dealership with me?

View 9 RepliesI have a 2010 Elantra where the rear driver door randomly won't shut. The lock intermittently won't engage and the door just swings back at you. Happened twice and I just thought nothing of it and played around until it closed. I was at my dealership (for another problem) and I opened that door to get something out of the backseat and the door just swung back at me when I shut it. They kept the car and lubed it up and said it was working fine. 2 weeks later it happened again when I was running errands and it took me half an hour to get it to close again.
This particular thing apparently isn't covered under warranty so my solution was don't open the door. Now my trunk is doing it too! The trunk has always sporadically opened on its own every now and then and I always thought maybe I was pushing the button on the transmitter... Nope! My car went back to the dealership for the trunk and the door. They got my trunk to close by "fiddling around" and couldn't recreate the door not closing and both APPEARED to be working fine. The next day the trunk wouldn't close again. I got it to close by playing around with the lock and the transmitter. It opened again while I was driving.
I've just bought a 2005 XC90 and one of the rear (3rd row) seats is jammed in the uprigh position and will not fold down. The problem is that the lever does not release the base of the seat to slide back.
I have tried poking my fingers in and have examined the side that is working to see how the mechanism works. It would appear that the catches at each side that hold the base of the seat in position do not swivel around enough when the lever is lifted up. I have tried lifting the lever as far as I dare but I'm worried that if I try any harder something will break.
The inside lights on my 00 Passat does not go off when i shut the door and so i keep getting the buzzing sound as if door still open. Because of that I can't use the remote to lock the door. I don't see anything around the hinges or the side of the lock on the door that makes the lights turn off when the door is shut. What this could be? This is on the passenger side. I cant even lock all the doors with the key, i have to press the lock button inside the door first before i can lock the driver door.
View 4 RepliesI have a 99 Passat 1.9 Automatic with door lock problems .The LR door is stuck in the shut position and the passenger doors front and rear can not be closed the latch doesn't hold the door close ,I have to tie them up with a rope to drive.The only one that works normally is the driver's door luckily. Where to start ?. If I force the lock knob on the Left rear door from inside goes back in and I can't open that door at all.
View 4 Replies2003 Ex rwd 6.0l 125,000 miles. The complete rear left side door is stuck shut and has been for about 6 months. This is not a side door, but the very back where the lift gate is. I sprayed wd40 in there, nothing. It won't budge. If its a broken cable inside, how to I take off the interior door panel to get to the access holes and actuator on that door or both doors on the tailgate?

I pull over to the side of the road and none of the tires are flat. I look under the car and a piece of the rear suspension has come loose and jamed itself in front of the tire. Its a long peice of metal with a hook on the end.

View 1 RepliesSo on my 2001 passat v6 the trunk wont open with the switch on the driver door for some reason and it seems the previous owner wanted to fix it and instead messed up and now the rear driver side door wont open even when its "unlocked".
