Golf/GTI VI :: Powering Amp From Battery With Relay Switch?
So I've found a lot of guides around here on how to install an amp/sub in my gti (golf) but I'm having some trouble understanding how to run the power from the battery to the amp without the amp constantly being turned on and draining my battery.
Currently, i have everything but the power itself setup and ready to go, i have my 4 gauge power cable running from the engine bay through the firewall and to the back of my car where the amp will be. The amp came with a fuse to put near the battery, but I think I would need some sort of on/off switch to actually kill the power to the amp. I read that this is called a relay switch or something, but exactly how to install this into my current setup.

my 2001 cavalier overheats only when it idles, overheats in 3 to 5 minutes & the ac blows hot. As soon as you get moving again the car runs at normal temp and the ac blows ice cold. We changed the thermostat, coolant and belts, i'm not loosing any coolant. Looks like the fans are not coming on, I can not find a location for a fan relay switch, thought maybe we should change that before changing out the fans..Is there a relay switch?

In an attempt to bleed my drivers side caliper today I noticed clicking coming from the #2 relay switch under the dash. The clicking stopped once I pulled out the relay. I continued to bleed my caliper which I've been having issues doing so. It was kinda odd how I was able to bleed the caliper after pulling the relay. I noticed my A/C hasn't been up to par. It's not bad when driving but just ok when idling. So today I changed the orfice tube and the accumulator. Vacuumed the sys. down and charged it up, 2 lbs 10 oz. It is worse! the compressor kicks on and off constantly only cooling to 80 degrees.
I noticed the high goes right up to 350 then the compressor shuts off .... 7 seconds later, back on and up to 350lbs and off again. I think the high-pressure switch is shutting the compressor off before anything goes kaboom but why isn't my fan cooling the condenser down? my FSS shows no increase in fan speed. Sitting at 450.
I think I'm going to cool the condenser down with a hose now to see if that works. If so, That would be telling me the fan isn't doing it's job correct?

Is the A/C condenser pretty simple to replace on the 2006 F350? Replaced the compressor but then noticed the condenser was leaking. Looks simple just wondering if there are any quirks to it.

I need to understand if the lost of power when accelerating the car can be directly related to the O2 sensor or something else. As the title states, I need to know where that damn switch/sensor that tells the car that the rear hatch is open. Since I got the car, the hatch has been wonky at best when trying to close that hatch via the button. I figured it was going to need a new switch, however I just noticed something today.
I opened the hatch and the rear dome light came on. Pressed the button and it closed no problem. I opened it again a few minutes later and the light never came on. Tried to close it with the button again and it didn't work. And then it all made sense. The sensor that tells the car that the hatch is open is either gummed up or just needs replacing. So where exactly is this thing?

We bought a 2012 Passat from a VW dealer on Thursday, and my wife took it out of town that day. After sitting outside in a hotel parking lot for 2 days, the car would not start. This is Wisconsin, so air temp -10f and windchill -30. When you turn the key, there was a "click", but the engine did not turn over. The battery was not dead (lights, accessories worked), but the tow truck driver did attempt to jump it just in case. He ended up towing it to the shop, and parking it inside. After 2 hours, it started just fine. Needless to say... not the best way to start life with a new car.

Ihave a 2008 E 350 6.0 , while driving i hit a small pothole no big deal the van stops running and coasts to the side of the road. get her towed. The dash lights show the PATS is engaged so it is no start no crank.
The 30 amp fuse PCM power relay is blown. when i replace it it blows as soon as i turn the key. im checking for wire chafing but so far have found none.

Turn on blinker , turn, blinker shuts off.. But the relay keeps clicking for a 20 seconds. It's kinda annoying... Sounds like it coming from behind the stereo..

Looking at figuring out why my a/c isn't working. Has a full charge but just doesn't come on. Trying to check the relay (384), but my car seems to be missing it (2000 V6 fwd w/ climatronic). It appears I have two slots open, although I think one of the slots is where I took the DRL relay from. I have a slot open on top next to relay 267 or one on the bottom row next to relay 370. Or because of the climatronic, is it a different relay?

This has been driving me crazy for the last few weeks. I think my car is making a relay sound, but what it's for. Somewhere in the dash, behind the steering wheel and bezel, on the left hand side, there is a relay clicking on and off every 5-6 seconds. I'm thinking it's for my rear wiper, which I believe my wiper motor is busted. However, I don't know for sure.
So, two things here.
1. I want to figure out which relay it is. Looking for electronic schematic for a 03 w8 wagon?
2. How can I determine if my rear wiper motor is blown?
To be honest, I can't even figure out how to turn it on because the on/off switch for the rear wiper is locked in place. I only hear the noise when I'm not cruisen' with my windows down or when the stereo isn't bumping.
Passat (B5) :: Turn Signal Relay Stuttering And Clicking
My turn signal relay clicking and stuttering randomly. When turn or warning signal used it operates normally with absolutely no problem and sounds healthy. But when not used and supposed to be quite - it goes again. When stuttering - there is absolutely no indication other than clicking sound that something is wrong.

Passat (B5) :: 2002 GLX Stalled - Small Click Inside Relay Panel But No Crank
B5.5. Here is what happened: Was driving as usual, running low on gas. Cluster was showing zero miles left for last 10 miles. I successfully made it to the gas station. Trying to open lid - maybe on third press it popped. I thought I'm just imagining things. Drove home another 5 miles. Trying to open trunk - same as gas lid, eventually opened. I turn engine off. No dome light. None of the dome lights working. Everything else appeared still has power. Trying to open trunk again - it's dead. Trying to start the car - does not start. Trying to go home and lock with remote - not working. Lock manually and went home.
Next morning went to check fuses - all OK. Everything still not working just the way I left it. When ignition key turned - cluster comes up. When starter should crank I can hear small click inside relay panel and lighter power turned off momentarily as usual, but no crank. No messages on cluster. Dome lights, door locks by remote and starter/engine don't work. Gas lid and trunk don't work even from driver's door. If I press power lock on driver's door it will lock and immediately unlock all doors.
I did check power on fuses. Three engine related fuses don't have 12V on them. The fuses are 28, 29 and 34, or second and third up from bottom left and fourth up in second column from bottom left. Fuses itself are good.
Here I Got my first suspect: power for all 3 fuses above coming from same relay. I thought if I jump these fuses to live 12 Volts I might be able to start engine. I did jump one fuse at the time. I've heard fuel pump came up but nothing else happened. I understand that it can also be Motronic control for this relay. I pull my OBD reader, but found no codes or freeze frames. I don't have WAG reader.
But Motronic should not affect doors and dome lights (I think so but not sure), unless CAN bus shorted or something. Lights and doors can be related to Central Control and Convenience module, which supposed to be under driver seat. I had rear driver side carped wet few times when I just bought the car, but not lately, not in 6 months. I still think water damage can occur much later after exposure.
So here are mu suspects: Engine power relay, Motronic or Convenience module. It might be something else.
