ok my passat is makes noise going over bumps. it sounds just like clankly raddle. i checked under neath there appears to be nothing loose. but idk, the shocks seem to be fine. it just started to happen after i had the pads and rotors replaced. oh it is in the back.

View 7 RepliesMy LS is making a noise in the front when riding over bumps. Its hard to explain. Its kind of a hollow sounding noise. I took it to the dealership last week and they replaced the sway bars and sway bar bushings. That was not the problem. Its still making the noise. Could it be a spring or strut? I had a '93 Maximan that kind of did the same thing and it ended up being the struts.
View 14 RepliesHad drivegear springs installed about 7 months ago or so and recently the front started making a swoosh sound when going over bumps. Took it into the dealership and they told me they tightened some chassis bolts. So I take it home. Problem is still there. So I go back and let them know. I go for a ride along with the manager and he tells me the noise is normal. So now it's not a matter of it being covered under warranty but more of is it a problem at all?
I remember someone telling me it might of been the control arm bushings. I need rubber ones or something. How I should approach this so my car doesn't sound like a 1980's chevy.
Having brake pads making noise while driving on war zone like roads? Sounds like the front end is falling off. It started after a front brake job. Dealer then replaced all the clips and it was fine for six months. Now starting to make noise again.

I also told them the rear spoiler is loose and making noise over bumps, they ordered a new one under warranty. I also wanted a new driver side wiper blade, they also are ordering a new one under warranty. So so far they are doing a good job. I have been there one time before.
View 4 RepliesMy car's rear suspension bushes are getting torn and are making squeaking noise in bumps. I am able to get bush for trailing arm and stabiliser bar. My dealer says that i have to replace the whole knuckle assembly as the bush for that part are not available separately. Is this true or the dealer is trying to earn some quick bucks?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Sonata Ltd (63000 miles) and had a clunk in the front suspension. I had the front upper control arms replaced (which were visually badly worn) and that fixed the problem. But now, a several months later another similar clunking noise has developed when I go over those small speed bumps in parking lots.

Secondly, have some weird boost issue, boost gauge use to read 5 psi with front mount now its at 2 psi and their are no leaks in the IC system.. can't figure out what it is (turbo only has 3k miles on it) final question what causes a clunking noise every time i go over bumps and curbs?
View 4 RepliesI'm new to vw and I have a passat 3.6 sel premium and I have been hearing a noise coming from my rear suspension when I have a full car or going over speed bumps and such. It took it to the dealer and they said that they couldn't replicate the problem, could it be the control arms or it's bushings? The car is only 6 months old smh.

View 5 RepliesI am having problems with suspension noice in the early mornings going over small obstacles or bumps on the road. I have complained to VW dealer and they changed something in my rear suspension, but the noice is still here. I think it is coming from the front suspension. 2006 Passat. It is usually in the am when i start the car and than goes away later.
I think this is what they did for me, but it did not fix the noice.

So on the 16th I had my Koni FSD kit installed with a set of Driver Gear springs (30mm drop) and used the ECS Tuning install kit for both front and rear.
The issue I'm trying to troubleshoot is a 'thunk' noise coming from the rear but only when going over speed bumps or any other major bumps/dips.
2010 VW Passat - Sedan
See the attached videos. The first one (night time) was made before I took the car to the dealer the first time. Dealer said that I was going too fast over the speed bumps, so I made another video (daytime) showing the speed (10-13 mph). Both times you can hear a squeaking noise coming from the front that I just started hearing last week. The car has only 23,000 miles on it. I bought it brand new back in September of 2010. I don't know what to do because the dealer (of course) says that they checked everything and there is nothing wrong with the car.
What was the cause of it. I can take it to a mechanic and check it myself and then bring it to VW for repairs and telling them exactly what's wrong and why.

I'm getting ready to do some maintenance such as flushing the brake fluid, new air filter, and changing spark plugs. I've noticed lately a noise from what I'm assuming is my front suspension that can be heard when going over small bumps on roads at low speeds. It sound like a squeaky spring, almost like something needs to be oiled. I'm still on stock suspension with close to 80k on the clock, so I was wondering if there is anything in particular I should look for when I'm messing around the wheels bleeding brakes, or if there is a common procedure to lubricate something so the noise stops. I can hear it from inside the cabin so I imagine you can hear it from outside the car.

View 2 RepliesMy wife's 2000 Passat 2.8 V6 has been making a clunking noise when you hit the gas for quite a while. I finally got the time to look under the hood and noticed that the engine (when the car is in drive) is rearing back and making a loud clunk noise. I thought at first it was a motor mount but this picture is what I found. It is a mount that comes off a spindle that is directly in the center of the engine and right under the radiator... I have been told it is a "snub mount", "front engine mount", "torque rod mount", etc.
The problem is, when I call around to the local parts places no one has a clue what I am asking for. So what I need is for someone to ID the mount and then point me in the right direction on were to purchase it. Also if there is a write up on how to change it, that would be very useful too. I noticed that it looks a lot like the APR "snub mount" I am looking at for my 1.8T A4 and they have very detailed directions on how to change it. Is this the same thing? Can I buy it at a VW dealership?
my P/S is making whining weird noises i checked the reservoir and there it is low fluid. question is there a nipple somewhere that i can bleed the air i'm not sure if i am right on this one but i have a feeling that when i ran low on fluid i created an aeration in my pump,reservoir?
View 2 RepliesIt makes a noise as if I have my turn signal on, although when the turn signal aren't on, the ticking sound continues. I replaced the whole unit, and it did not fix it. My Dad says it has to be a bad Turn Signal Relay, but where do I find one in my car? How will i know that it's that? Is there a diagram of relays anywhere online?
View 2 RepliesMy climatic A/C system is making a buzzing noise when I press the recirc button. After I press the button it sounds like the recirc flaps are trying to actuate but are broken or the motor is not working. It makes two different distinct noises when going into recirc and out of recirc. How hard this is to fix since I'm sure it is located in the dash.
