Passat (B5) :: Loud Crack Noise When Stepping On Gas After Hard Braking

Passat Front End Noises? Loud "crack" noise when stepping on gas after hard braking....I thought...control arms gone again (replace em @ 55K miles)...so I replaced all the control arms... NOISE LESS but still there! I've replaced motor mounts and just checked them..no leaks, so engine shifting cant be it... I replaced the "stretch torqued" subframe bolts when I did lower rear control arms..so they're tight...What can it be??

I bought a new 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe this past August and this is my first car.
My first concern was that Hyundai advertises 27mpg in city and around 37(?) for highway. I acknowledge the fact that Hyundai recently had to lower their mpg estimates for some of their cars and provide reimbursements but however, these reimbursements are for 1-2mpg difference. My car after more than 6 months is still only getting about 14-15 miles on a casual drive in the city and only about 19-20mpg combined and about 24-25 on the highway! I am only getting about half the estimate for in city! I do not drive aggressively. In fact I am a pretty safe driver since I am a new driver and cautious about everything. I am also using premium gas on my car. I called the dealership I got the car from and they were trying to tell me about the reimbursement program which I already knew of... The reimbursement based of the 1-2 mileage difference is not what I want. I want to fix it and get close to the estimated mileage as I can. What is the best way to go about doing this?
The other issue is that sometimes when I hard brake, my car makes a loud grinding noise. My dealership's service center said they could take a look at this. I was mainly wondering if there is anything I should be concerned about for this?

What this could be? Doesn't happen every time but when you start the car I can hear something like "pssh psssh pssh psssssssssss...." below the car like some hose has a hole in it or disconnected etc.. but it comes from under/back of the car... fuel lines? fuel pump? No CEL or anything, car drives. Normally... mpg is good...

I posted last month that I have hard steering when stopped while stepping on the brake. Feels like there is no power steering boost at all. The dealer claimed it was a failure in the steering box due to a leaking seal. Replaced the box. Not fixed. Dealer now says it is normal; there is not enough pumping capacity or pressure at idle to operate both the brake booster and the power steering booster. Its true that when I ease off on the brake a little and let the truck roll even just a little bit, I get steering boost.
I need a handful of guys with trucks like mine (02, 250, PSD) to go check their trucks, and let me know if they behave the same way. Mine turns with steering boost as soon as I ease off the brake and let it roll a little, but at full stop is feels like no power steering; very hard to turn wheels, and pump makes a slight growl (more like a grinch) just as if it was at a full turn stop.

I have a weird problem with my 2008 Elantra GLS 86K Miles on it. I did a couple of searches on this problem but didn't find any threads. About a month ago I noticed that when I braked hard at highway speeds 65 to 70 Mph I would get a noise that sounded like I was driving over the rumble strips on the side of the road. The rumble was the same frequency no matter what speed you are going, it doesn't get faster or slower. The problem slowly got worse to the point that it would happen at 25 to 30 Mph. The noise sounds like it is coming from the front but I can't tell which side. I figured that it was probably rotors and time for a brake overhaul so I replaced the rotors, pads and hardware on the front and the back. I used synthetic brake grease on the slides and guides. I also replaced the brake fluid with synthetic DOT 3.
When I did the back brakes I found that the wheel bearing on the passenger side was leaking lots of grease so I replaced it with a Timken bearing. (I live over an hour away from the nearest dealer so I did the repairs myself.) While I was working on the bearing I pushed the rear shock up and out of the way and it stayed in the up position for quite a while, aren't the shocks under pressure and usually push right back down? (Just an off subject thought) Well after replacing the bearing the rumble strip noise went back to just happening at speeds from 45 Mph and up. I was also thinking of pulling the fuse on the ABS and seeing if the problem goes away but will pulling the fuse hurt the car in any way or trip a code? I know what the ABS sounds like and this is not the same noise you get when sliding on ice.

I have noticed the last 3 times I hit the brakes really hard above 100 mph ( even 120 mph) I hear a whirling noise coming from either the front brakes or tires. Kind of sounds like when you have really old summer tires on the car and you make a stop on the street . I have heard this on the track the last 2 track days I had. I know my front tires (Michelin PSS) are about 40% worn but are still in pretty good shape.
My rotors are the same that carried me through 6 track days in 10 months and was recently told by the dealership that my front pads need to be replaced sooner than later ( they were installed 10 months ago before all the track work ) and I am assuming the rotors are beat up pretty goo . I will be getting new tires in the next few months and will most likely be replacing pads and rotors at the next scheduled service. The car has 34k on it. Is this normal with Brembos or aggressive brakes?

Just bought this van used last fall. Had an occasion, a few months ago, to brake quite hard (to avoid hitting a bird in the road--yeah, I know...) and felt a clattering vibration/noise in my brake pedal. It's happened a few times since then. Is this a problem that needs to be looked at or a normal reaction to quick, hard braking? (Braking noise in 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan)

I bought a 2006 Sebring convertible in Florida last winter. The driver's car door made a loud crack sound every time I opened it, so I had it fixed in May and returned up north. I have returned to Florida and after a couple of times opening the door with no problems, the loud crack sound started again. Is there another, connecting part, they should have looked at, or replaced, or does it need yet another replacement part?

I just noticed that when I am taking a hard right turn such as getting on the freeway or exiting, I hear random clicking noises in rapid successions in random intervals. the traction control alarm also lights up when this happens. is this normal? it sounds like relays are going crazy. I have not tried left turn yet since there isn't many opportunities around.
Clicking happens under hard cornering which in turn causes TC light to come on and when still under acceleration.

I have another issue. I just started having problems when braking. Every time I brake there is thing loud grinding noise that sounds like it coming from the back tires but there isn't a squeaking noise like there is where you need new brakes what else could this be??

So I had my car at the dealer today. still is at the dealer. They say that they cant hear a loud pop when backing out and pulling into spots while cutting the wheel hard. I need to go back and show them tomorrow.
The noise occurs when stopping very hard it will pop about 3 times then if you pick up hard or step on it it also pops. then it pops when pulling in and out of parking spots and you cut the wheel hard.
Suspension popping in the front. I told them strut bearings but they said they were fine.....

My son just bought a 09 Corolla LE and he gets this clicking noise every time the brakes are applied. The clicking noise comes from the Shifter.
I know that about the Shift Lock Solenoid, but this clicking sound is loud. I have been told that this is normal. So, I thought if this is what 10th Gen owners here is experiencing the same.

I get a clunk noise when stepping on and releasing the brakes occasionally but not always. This occurs even with the engine off and the vehicle stationary. I also hear some other noise like some sort of vacuum servo thing is happening.

I recently purchased a 2014 Prius with the package 5 trim. I'm completely loving the car, but noticed when stepping on the brake pedal I hear a soft "swoosh" noise from under the dash. Almost like a short vacuum or sucking sound. The car has 500 miles, and I don't recall hearing that noise initially.

when i am stopped and turn my steering wheel a lot to either left or right, and i accelerate, there is a loud thumping hammering noise coming from the front of the car.
it also happens when i am turned a lot to the left or right, and i reverse. it sounds like a hammer hitting cement. it only happens when i turn almost all the way to the left or right...?

So 2 weeks ago I noticed that after 30 minutes of driving on the highway my steering wheel started making a loud growling noise and vibrating really hard! When I hit the brakes it got worse but got better as I slowed to 30 mph. It doesn't happen all the time and not right away, only after a while of driving and the dealership says without codes they can do nothing...
