I'm pretty sure I have a faulting coolant sensor. Light comes on with a message in the MFI indicating coolant is low, but when I check, its at the maximum line on the overflow reservoir. So I assume the sensor is not accurate/faulting.
Spoke to my service advisor who said the sensor is attached to the reservoir and you buy it all as one item, sensor and reservoir combined.
I've also seen threads that indicate it's a stand alone sensor toward the back of the engine compartment.
Need to confirm either of these as being accurate locations for the sensor? Is there more than one?
Where the coolant sensor is on a 2003 vw passat 3.0 V6 ...
View 2 RepliesI was driving today when the CEL came on, I scanned the car which gave me 1 code: P1296.
I googled it and said it is possibly the coolant temp sensor?
The Engine temp was normal at 190' or just below even after quite a bit of driving today.
Would the problem just be the sensor or should I be looking for other problems as well?
The car is a 2002 B5.5 AWM 1.8T Tiptronic.
I need to replace my coolant temp sensor, but can seem for find where it goes. Bentley says it's on the rear coolant line, but that eludes me as well.
View 6 RepliesI have a B5.5 with the 2.8. I'm changing the coolant temperature sensor, but cannot get the thing out of the harness. With as tight as the working area is, I really don't want to screw-up the harness. How to get this out? I have the sensor out of the pipe the crosses between the heads and only need to remove it from the harness.
View 2 RepliesP3081. What the hell is this code. I think it is a coolant temp. sensor issue.
View 3 RepliesWhere is the ambiant outside air temp sensor located on the Phaeton? I know it is located under the outside left or right mirror (based on model year) on a Volvo but not sure where it is on the Phaeton. No problems, just curious.

View 5 Replies1992 3.0L aero crancks but won't start. Gives codes 114 and 116, these are about IAT and ECT sensors. Where is the ECT exactly located? I see 3 or 4 sensors that are screwed to intake manifold over there. I would like to find the sensor for dash cooling meter too, because it is moving only a fraction of the distance that it should. Thermosthat is checked, it seems to work.
View 2 RepliesI need a replacement driver side door, towing mirror for a 2011 Ford F250 SuperDuty with turn signal, heated, electrically adjustable manual-extend and manual fold options. The truck VIN number is 1FT7X2B67BEC96261. The truck also has an Outside-Air-Temperature indication which is what I'm not sure about. It is my understanding that the Outside-Air-Temperature sensor may be in the side mirror. Looking for any info on the temperature sensor located on this truck? I found an aftermarket mirror while I can not afford Ford. However, the aftermarket mirror ad says it does not have Outside-Air-Temperature and I would like to keep that working.

View 2 RepliesMy 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe V6 is giving out a P0118 code, and the "freeze-frame" data reports a -40F for the coolant temperature. That doesn't make sense so perhaps the sensor is faulty or perhaps the sensor connector is loose?
I'd like to take a look at the coolant temperature sensor but I cannot find it. I have scoured hmaservice, hyunda-forums but all the various pics are still not clear enough for me to actually find the sensor. I have seen all the online pics from Hyundai but I can't get my head around exactly where the sensor is - the pics are either too zoomed in or so many things have been disconnected for the purposes of taking the picture I can't get my bearings.
