View 3 RepliesI have the car door apart, how to remove the panel on my camry. I got all the way to where I have to remove the outside handle to completely take out the part that has the actuator built in. Everything is all good until I got to this part. How to finish getting the handle off so the part that goes into the electrical mechanism where the actuator can be removed is done. I got the mechanism basically hanging there. I got the two bolts to what I thought was holding the outside handle on. One bolt is on the side of the door covered by a rubber grommit and the there inside the door in the middle of the handle.
View 3 Replies2013 Prius 4 ... A deer was trying to hitch hike but didn't give me warning before lunging into the passenger door. I found a salvage door that will work. I have switched all the wiring, speaker, locking mechanism and mirror but I need removing the door handle(outside). I suppose the sensor that matches my key fab needs to be transferred to the new door but I can't see how this is done. Looking for the instructions on removing the door handle?
View 2 RepliesHow do I remove the trim that's around the pull handle and the lock/unlock button? Not the trim by your belly that has window buttons but the ones that are near your side mirrors. Mine are scuffed to poop and I would like to replace the trim and the lock/unlock buttons.
View 1 RepliesSo I am replacing all the pull handles, switches and basically anything that has that soft tuch crap peeling. I did the driver side fine. When I go over to the passenger side, I popped off that little side piece, but when i go to use the torx driver, one has a nut. How the hell do I get a socket down there??
View 3 RepliesI had my '09 F-150 Super Crew lock punched out on driver side door. To prevent this from happening again, I am replacing that handle with a handle for the rear door that has NO lock. I will no longer have key access to the truck. I am also ordering a spare remote. Is there anything I should consider before following through with this decision? Why I shouldn't do this? Is this a common thing to do?
View 14 RepliesWent to get into my B7 this AM and the outside door handle won't open the car. You pull on the handle, and nothing. It pulls out like normal, but acts as though it's not connected to anything. After getting in the passengers door and crawling over the console , the inside door handle moves maybe an inch, and then stops, feeling like something is jammed. Just made an appointment with the dealer, and he said they've had a few problems with the cables inside the door that controls the handles and latch.
View 12 RepliesThe drivers door won't open from the outside but works fine from the inside. Are the door handles all electric in the Passat?
View 15 RepliesThe outside door handle on the front passenger door has stopped working. You can pull it out but it won't open the door. You can still open the door from the inside.
View 3 RepliesOn my passat, the right passenger door handle does not work from the inside. I recently had the window replaced on that door because window slipped.. But since i got the window fixed, the handle inside does not work properly. It opens the door, but you really have pull and push the door open. I only found one screw at the bottom of the panel inside to take it off, but the rest of the panel feels pretty tight, and i dont want to break anything either.
View 4 RepliesI have earlier had problems with my driver's outside door handle which now and then doesn't open the door for a week or two, but then suddenly starts to work as normal again for long periods.
Yesterday one of my children had grabbed the outside door handle while I was operating the remote to unlock the car. After that the outside door handle doesn't work any more. I find it unbelieveable that VW designs a system which doesn't gracefully handle a grabbed handle while operating the central lock.
Anyhow, I took off the outer bottom window seal of the door and immediately saw the brown wire coming from the lock assembly. It is supposed to be straight, but this was loose. Look at this image (wire mirrored from the window):

Most internet tips tells me to slam the door a number of times until the wire returns to its position and all is well - probably until the next time the same thing happens...
I have two scenarios, my driver's door handle which doesn't work now and then, and the rear side door which immediately stopped working after the handle was pulled while I unlocked the car.
In the first scenario I aussume that it would be ok to lube or clean the wire? But what is the cure for the second scenario? Also can I somehow access the other end of the wire (at the lock mechanism end) without completely dismantle the door?
Got the common problem of the door handles and windows switches peeling in my 2006 Passat. I wanted to buy replacements, but only if I could buy parts that won't peel again. For the window switches, I was looking into these:

Would non-VW parts be a problem? As for the door handles, I heard the new versions of the B6 have door handles that won't peel, but I haven't been able to confirm. If so, how can I recognize the newer parts from online stores? How to completely peel them? I don't mind the look of the plastic underneath.
Tons of people have had their radios, lock buttons, etc replaced under warranty due to peeling. My driver's side door handle is starting to peel now.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2007 Passat. The driver's side door handle has failed. With the locks in "unlocked" when i pull the handle it comes out but with no effort and it does not trip the dork lock mechanism and the door does not open. I can however open the door via the inside handle.
View 4 RepliesSo yesterday I come out of a store and hit the button on my remote and pull my handle and nothing.. I hit the button a few more times i and i hear it clicking but its not unlocking..
So I climb in and unlock it from the inside and start locking and unlocking it and finally it starts working again.. I get home car sits for a few hours and i head out to walmart door opens fine when I leave walmart it is fine.. this mourning taking my son to the sitters it was fine and leaving there to go to work it was fine..
At lunch at work it wouldn't open again no matter what i tried i couldn't get it to work.. i call the dealer and have an appointment in the AM for them to check it out..
On a side not one of my drivers side front speaker in the same door is cutting in and out and hisses every now and then..
Saw the 2013 Jetta commercial with the dog and in the last scene the owner closes all windows via the exterior driver door handle.
Is this a function available on the Passat? I tried it with no success.
So, I'll put my Passat away for the winter and I want to repair some rust that appeared on the windows moldings, and to do a nice job, I want to remove those. I checked out a little bit, removed moldings but I was not able to remove those.
View 2 RepliesLooking for a DIY about removing exterior door handles? I am referring strictly on the handle, not the mechanism inside the door.
View 1 RepliesHow do I remove the interior rear door panels?
My passenger side rear door handle does not work. My mechanic fixed it once, said the cable had jumped off the pulley. I figured it can't be that difficult to fix if I can get the door panel off.
i need to get my door panel off to try to pop out a dent.. are there any write ups on removing the panel..
