Feb 15, 2006
I think the battery is dead, so I need to replace it.

View 10 RepliesI've searched and it seems this is only possible if you open the drivers door and hold down the window switches, but I just want to check...
Is there a way to open the windows from the key fob/remote? This would be really nice since the remote start function is so poorly implemented.
My BMW opens the windows if I hold down the unlock button on the remote or if I put the key in the door lock cylinder and turn and hold (can also close the windows with the key in lock, but not the remote). I've tried and didn't get it to work, but my remote start also gives me fits, so I'm not sure that I'm actually holding the button down right or long enough.
I installed a non-auto euro switch. I tried scandinavian drls and that left all my exterior lights on at all switch positions, even off and when the key is off. I switched no drls and the switch works as it is supposed to. I tried enabling some of the comfort stuff. I want the remote to be able to open and close the windows, but I can't get it to do it. I think i have the right boxes checked in vag com, but no luck.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2008 Passat Komfort. About 2 weeks ago I went to open the trunk and nothing happened. Tried using the button next to the gas door open and still nothing, remote doesn't work, button doesn't work neither does pushing the emblem. I have tried both sets of keys and nothing.
View 4 RepliesThe remote trunk release as well as the trunk release lever inside my 2001.5 GLS V6 do not pop the trunk anymore so I suspect the motor is gone. I took the trunk cover off and got to the motor. I can't tell from looking at the motor if it is bad or not but I suspect it is. How I can test this to see if it is bad?
View 1 RepliesCan I replace the battery in my 06 Passat myself? I've been told that I must take it in to the dealer to have it done, so they can reprogram the car. Doesn't sound right to me.
View 2 RepliesOkay so yesterday I had to replace my battery because it died just when I was trying to leave for work. Got back on the road it everything was fine. Coming home last night I got a CEL, I figured it was my normal p2177 because of my Forge WINTake that I can't seem to find a fix for. I went to clear the code because I have a fulling loaded APR Stage 1 ECU. Now it won't clear. So this morning I attempted to change programs and it won't change. Should I just go have it reflashed?
View 4 RepliesI'm unable to open my trunk door with the remote, using the key, or with the switch on the drivers side door. I am also pretty sure it is not frozen shut. Will I need to switch out the complete latch assembly or just need to wd-40 something? This is for a 2000 Passat 1.8T Sedan.
View 4 RepliesSo my sisters Passats battery died this weekend. She had jumper cables, but they were buried in the trunk amongst all her other crap in there. We ended up folding the back seats and crawling into the trunk to release it using the trap lever, but it was a PITA.
Is there no keyhole, or is it hidden like the door key holes? The trunk release button on the driver door is electrical switch, so that did not work either.
I have an 04 f250 diesel and i am wondering whatst are the minimum cca's i need to be able start my truck. Both of my batteries are no good anymore and i need to replace them both but not sure on the cca's the truck needs
View 4 RepliesI just bought a 04 s60 and the remote won't open the trunk. How to resolve this?
View 19 RepliesWhen you press your remote, trunk will stay closed and won't open. Must use the lever under the seat for opening it. What can cause this issue.
Battery is new. Also there is some another issue, didn't look it yet, one of the plate lamp is not working while trunk is closed. When you lift up your trunk it will begin work, when you close - no work.I assume there is some wire connection problem, but how it might affect the opening a trunk?
The lights on the knob which selects the where to push the blower air have gone out. I took the dash fucia out and took the that piece that controls the heat and fan speed out. But I don't understand how to open it up to replace the bulb. There are little tabs around the piece which I tried to open but the knobs are connected to something inside so I didn't want to pull too hard and risk breaking something.
How I can change the light bulb? I attached a picture to the post and circled in red the area I'm referring to where the light bulb has gone out.
just tradred my IS for an LS and cant seem to open the trunk with the oem remote , even while pressing the button and holding it? i tried the override switch in glove box, no luck. if i open with key and press button on trunk lid, it will close!
View 3 RepliesThe PRIUS Remote Start turns off as soon as you open the car door. Then you have to turn on the car again.
View 19 Replies My Phaeton has been parked in my garage locked for about 10 days and the remote will not open the doors. Additionally the key will not go in the key slot in the door. Not sure why that would be an issue. I can open the trunk but the Alarm goes off when I do that!
What can I do to get in the car. The remote shows a green light so I know that battery is good but and the flashing door lights flash.
My key fob remote wouldn't open the doors, so I used the key. Then when I went to start the car it said key not detected. Called Lexus and they said to hold the remote in front of the start button for 30 seconds, but that didn't work.
I realize the battery might be dead, but the funny thing is both of my fobs don't work. Also, last night I noticed the light inside my car didn't turn on as usual when I exited. What might be going on?
I have a 2006 Sonata. The trunk will not open with remote, latch or key. What do I do? There isnt a vallet switch.
View 1 RepliesBought a used 2007 Azera Limited last week. Yesterday, the car was parked outside and there were thunderstorms but I didn't hear the car alarm go off. Today, I was unable to get into my car. The locks wont open from the remote or using the key. Wonder whats wrong !
Even the emergency alarm (red button on the remote) won't work. I can see a red blinking light from the top of the dash that indicates that the car is locked.
I have Sonata 06 3.3L V6, vacuum getting confirmed code p0171 system too lean bank 1,and pending faults are both lean and rich on both banks and also at idle. i check vacuum leaks but no luck, one thing I observed when I drove car at high speed only 3000 rpm or above LTFT 1 corrected to 0. I am using torque app.
I can not open my trunk through remote key, it is opening with driver side switch, trunk lid latch is unlocked position, remote key is working fine with doors.?
I tried the manual and search here but did not find how to switch this feature on and off. When I bought the car, I could use the remote to lock the doors while a door is open, such as when I am stepping out of the car. Then when the door shuts, it beeps to confirm a lock. This feature went away, and now it won't do anything while a door is open; presumably to keep me from locking my keys in the car. I can't stand this feature, it's like a damn Honda, protecting me from myself! How to switch this back?
