I had the steering rack replaced on my 1999 B5 over the past 2 days. Upon leaving the shop...I noticed the air-bag light is on. I also noticed the auto-up on the front windows were not working and the horn doesn't work. What they unplugged/unhooked and how to re-connect it?

Last week I got the airbag light up on my dash board. Then, my horn stopped working along with the radio controls. Now they are telling me its not being covered because of my aftermarket modifications. Now my aftermarket modifications are the following done through Vag-Com: DRLs disabled for HIDs, Remote up/down for windows.
So they are telling me they can not communicate with the module. Correct me if I'm wrong here, and I most likely am since I don't know much about this, but aren't they unable to connect to the module because.... it's defective?
I have a 99.5 Passat...the power windows will only click inside the doors. I checked all the fuses and specifically the ones that say on the fuse card are fuses for the windows? ...its not a fuse...is there a relay for the power windows that I need to replace?
View 1 RepliesI am currently having a problem with the power windows on my 2001 Passat V6 4Motion. While driving the windows will barely work, go down or up a few millimeters at a time. This happens on all windows, fronts and rears. The odd thing is when the car is stopped there is no issue. I have replaced the window switch twice, and took out the CCM (Comfort Control Module) to see if it had gotten any water damage/ loose connections.

I'm having trouble with my '99 F-350 7.3L 4X4. One day, my power windows, cruise, dome light, horn, wipers, and 4 wheel drive stopped working. After checking all of the fuses, I have found no bad ones.

View 4 RepliesOdd thing happened this evening, I took the truck for a short drive, rolled down the drivers power window, and then needed to turn on the map light, but realized it didn't work, same with the radio. The clock on the radio works, and now none of the window switches do anything.. I tested every fuse under the dash, even swapped around all of the relays that have the same part number, to no avail.. Is there something simple I'm missing that is a common problem with these trucks? I'd hate to have to leave my window down for awhile till I figure it out on my own..
View 14 RepliesI am having strange problem with my alarm horn. Some days ago alarm went off midnight and I had to leave the trunk open to stop it. Later in morning I found that when I lock the car with remote it doesn't sound but on pressing panic button it sounds well. I have checked water leaks, damp carpet, re-programmed remote, re-connected battery, got new FOB batteries and all door and trunk latches; all are fine. I ran OBD II and VAG COM but no codes found. On locking it locks all doors and hazard light blinks but horn do not sound.

I have checked all the fuses and they appear to be good.

I own an '07 Wolfsburg with steering wheel controls. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. When I'm in the car are they're not working, they eventually activate on and stay on.

View 1 Replies I was driving my truck and my power windows quite working I figured it was a fuse so I wasn't to excited about it I stopped and unloaded some scrap metal and then when I started my truck back up I couldn't shift it out of park unless I unplugged the brake pedal sensor or turned the key just out of the off position then shifted to neutral then started then I could put it in gear and go so I got home and started looking checked all my fuses all good then I realize the windshield wipers are not working either and the door beeper, if you have your keys in the ignition also isn't working the horn, isn't working the lights on the window and lock switches isn't working either so I'm kinda lost now gonna barrow a relay tester in the am but I'm kinda thinking maybe the computer ?? For all this to happen at one to,e doesn't make any sense to me that's a lot to all go in one shot it makes more sense to me
No horn
No power windows
No accessory lights on the window and lock switches
No wipers
No buzzer/beeper (like when you open the door and leave the keys in the ignition
Won't shift out of park without doing it with the engine off or the brake pedal position sensor unplugged
I've gone thru with a test light and got power to the fuses for everything but still nothing
About two days before, my auto windows won't work from inside the car, my auto locks won't work from inside the car, the trunk release won't work from inside the car, the seat belt reminder has suddenly become silent, and worst of all, the fuel door release won't work. Checked the fuses - none blown. Dealer said on the b6 no other way to open the fuel door than with the release. needless to say, took the car to the dealer before I ran out of gas!
I don't think that pushing the "reset" button on the wiper column (which seemed to solve the computer dilemma) would have disabled everything else - especially the fuel door.
I have a 2006 Prius. For some reason I've noticed that the buttons on the steering wheel Do NOT glow and they do NOT work...
Horn doesn't work either! And the light on the driver side door (for windows/lock/unlock) are NOT lit up either...?? It's all black and dark @ night..
Is there a fuse/relay for these type of things? If so...where do I start looking?
I took off the Airbag from Steering wheel and removed steering wheel to double check everything...and everything looks good. No damage. Wires are all connected well etc.
Every time I start the truck, the Passenger Side Airbag light is on, which is saying the airbag is turned "OFF." I have to push the button to turn the light off, which turns the airbag "ON." How do I reset this to where the airbag is "ON" until I turn it "OFF?"
View 8 RepliesIt's my turn, while out site seeing my back seat power window don't work , the control from drivers seat or from the back seat door control, I popped both covers on the control switch and both are firmly plugged in, I don't have my meter with me to see if power is running back to the switch , this morning I'll try to switch out the two back seat controls to see if I can get at least that window to go down , 04 350 , would there be a fuse for each or is it in the switch in the door that the harness plugs into , that's the only window that won't go down...
View 8 RepliesI've had my 2010 for three years. It has 55K miles, generally is well kept with no problems or accidents. Early on, the windows would not roll down when it was below 40 degrees or so until the car had run for several minutes.
Recently, the windows have become much more cranky. Sometimes they will not roll down at all, sometimes they will not roll up at all, at all temperatures. The problem has always applied to all four windows. I've been careful to make sure the problem was not originating from the window lock. This will be a real problem some rainy day....
The car is a July 2009 production model.
