View 2 RepliesMy wife has arthritis problems in her hips and knees, so we always buy cars with leather seats so she can slide in and out easily. This 2013 Prius v Five has the Softex imitation leather seats, which just don't slide very well. I complained at the dealer and asked if I could use something like saddle soap. They said not to use anything on them, and contacted an upholstery shop they have dealt with in the past. They will replace the seat bottoms with real leather (but not a perfect color match)
View 8 RepliesI am tall 6'5" and was curious if is possible to move the seat rails back to create a bit more leg room.
View 3 RepliesRemoving the back seat to allow the front seats to be reclined more? at 6'4'' I need more leg room! Or any other way on getting more leg room in the front seats?
View 1 RepliesFor some reason my heated seats arnt working in the front, why?
View 4 RepliesMy 2006 (with conti contacts, still in good shape) seems to behave differently from my 2004 (pirelli scorpions).
When accelerating and turning together (doesn't need to be a sharp turn, can be gradual), occasionally I feel my back seem to "slide" a bit. It's a strange sensation and I can't seem to really place it. It doesn't feel like I'm fishtailing, more like the outer rear wheel in the turn is accelerating a little too fast and pushing my rear end a bit too far too fast.
It only happens for a second and then everything is normal again. I haven't had any troubles with my 2006 beyond this (besides the DVD nav issue). But it does give me a bit of concern, as if the AWD system is a little "off".
I have a 2007 Azera with a sunroof problem. Went to open the sunroof and found out it would not slide back, it would only lift up in the back. Went to close it and it would lower some, but not all the way. It goes to lower but then there is a click in the mechanism and it won't close completely. Tried the manual close to no avail.
View 3 RepliesSo.. I recently bought a VW Passat Variant 1.8T 2003 and it seems like the heating in the front seats isn't working, well it's dead on the passenger side but takes forever ( 45-55min ) on the driver seat to get warm. And it seems to be a normal problem, but how should I solve it?
View 4 RepliesI was noticing that the shade for the sunroof does not slide back 100%. It seems like they could have made it go back another inch or 2.
View 16 RepliesI was installing my fk streetlines yesterday and when I was taking the strut out I must of let the knuckle sag to close to the ground. This caused the outer cv boot to stretch and pop out. Do I need an entire new cv boot? Or can I just slide it back on?
View 4 RepliesWhen I bought my 2004 Passat three months ago, I was told that the clutch was brand new. Lately when I take a corner in second gear, I get a "whole car seizure" if I am hitting the gas a little hard while not letting up the clutch enough. I've never had this happen before in ANY of the other standards I have owned / driven.
View 1 RepliesWhen lowering your vehicle one side has to be adjusted alot more. I was lowering my vehicle to make the rear even. Notice that the passenger rear had to be lowered more than the driver side.
View 20 RepliesI just installed the Nav system in my B6 but can't seem to get the volume adjusted correctly for the Nav. I have an Avura previously and the radio would mute down when the navi instructions where on. I found the audio adjustments for the nav systems but can't find anyplace to tell me what the adj are for.
View 4 RepliesAs stated in the title, my feet stay cold for a long time after the car fully warms up, and I can't feel much if any airflow under the dash. I tried going from auto to directing all flow to the floor, zero change, even with the fan on high.
View 11 RepliesDriving home from school today i went to put my shifter into tip mode to get on the highway and it just slid over way too easily. after that it just slides back and forth from tip to drive with the slightest tap or when im goin around a turn. Am I just too rough on my car?
View 1 RepliesMy wife and I both have our seating configuration programmer into memory seats 1 and 2). I notice, however, that in order to switch to the other person's setting, we have to hold down the 1 or 2 and keep it pressed while the seat adjusts itself. However, at some point the seat stops moving. If you then release the button and hold it again, the seat continues to adjust itself further. Is this a feature or is this a problem? I wouldn't expect that you have to keep holding multiple times in order to get the seat in it's final configuration.
View 18 RepliesI was rear-ended this morning, and can't get into my trunk. Is there anyway to lower the seats from the inside of the cab to get my stuff out? It will probably be at least a week before it gets repaired, and I don't want to have to tie down my trunk.
I am impressed on how my vehicle handled the accident. It doesn't look bad, and I didn't feel much, but it tore up the whole rear end. At least $5k damage.
Silly question but what are the 2 round plastic buttons on the back seat for? They're located on the back support near the lower lumbar regions on each side.
View 1 RepliesReplacing remaining three calipers on my 2006 F-350 2wd as a preventative measure after I had a drag on the left front. Passenger side front being difficult. Caliper won't slide off pads. I believe pins are stuck but it doesn't seem they've got the caliper stuck - appears that I can't get pistons to stay compressed enough to clear pads. Caliper has some wiggle on pads - just not enough.
I tried multiple C-clamp iterations but can't get there just yet. I'd rather not fool with the bracket and removal won't fix my problem, just allow me to work it on the bench. I do have a replacement caliper, so damaging it to get it off is an option. I have sprayed Kroil into the piston seals in a Hail Mary when I pick this up tomorrow.
I literally bought my Santa Fe 8 days ago, it has 207 miles on it as it sits in my driveway. The back seat has some sort of squeak noise. I just paid 41k for this vehicle and I really like it. But there is no way this thing should already be shaking and vibrating things to the point they are squeaking and coming loose.
View 11 RepliesNot sure if this was already posted but I did a search and nothing came up. I have a HORRIBLE screeching, squeaking noise coming from my back seats. It's like nails on a chalkboard. Anyway, I feel like it's coming from the right passenger back seat, but I don't know the exact spot. It's so bad I have to turn the music up so I can't hear it. It happens especially when I drive over bumps. I folded the seat down and sprayed the metal part with WD-40 where the bottom of the seat connects to the back of the seat, but I don't think this is the problem area.
