My fog lights were working on second then all of a sudden both of them stopped working. And the switch on the inside isn't turning green when you pull out to turn them on. What the deal with that and how I can fix it. I just switched the bulbs today but they were working but just stopped.
View 3 RepliesI own a 2001 Hyundai Accent. For some reason my front fogs lights have stopped working, i am suspecting the switch is dead because the green led does not come on when the switch is depressed, i have checked the fuse and all ok however on the fuse box/relay cover in the engine bay it says that there should be a relay (see attachment) but i don't have a relay there and never have had even when the lights worked, well at least i have never taken it out. Back to the switch, how to remove the switch from the panel so i can test the circuit with one of the other switches.

When I reached home I also noticed that the car was not responding the remote lock either. This morning, I tried to start the car but there was no response from the engine although all the panel lights were on!
View 10 RepliesMy sister has 03 wagon GLX and her a/c just stopped working one day. It was a few months ago and I remember when it happened that I scanned w/ VAG-COM and it gave some sort of pressure switch code - can't remember if it was low or high, but at time she wasn't concerned w/ it ($$ was tight). Unfortunately, I saved info on my laptop and can't find the document now and the car isn't throwing the code any more (I tried turning a/c on several times).
It sounds like a pressure switch to me, but not sure what the part would be (or where it is located on car). Any tests I can perform to confirm this? Also, I see two listed on ECS and they're nothing alike

I took the car in for 10,000 service. Drove it home and discovered I lost headlights, taillights and instrument lights. Checked interior driver side fuse box and all are good.

I've had a look thought the manual and cannot find a fuse for this, how to sort this.
The last week or so i been having problems when I go to start my car. The car wont turn over unless the battery is boosted. Seems pretty straight forward I know, DEAD BATTERY..but I have tried 2 batteries, one I know for sure is good. And again same things. Recently my interior lights stopped working. I read that is could be the courtesy control module, could this also be causing the battery to be drained? It only happens over night, when I go to school and its parked for 7-8 hours its fine, but over night it dies.

The courtesy lights also no longer work (the lights worked last night as I approached the car but not tonight. The locking chirp/beep worked 3 hours ago but not now. Also headlights no longer go out after double clicking lock on either of the 2 fob.)
View 13 RepliesI have a 06 GX470, and the lf window master switch has stopped working. The only items it will still control are the window lock, and the up and down movement of the lf window. It will not operate the other three Windows or the door locks. I did try to re-sync all of the Windows first. I know the master switch is good, since I was able to swap it with a known good one. I checked all fuses and they are also good. I removed of door panel and was going to start checking grounds and continuity between the harness from the lf master switch to the junction block.
View 6 RepliesSo my car is just under 2 weeks old. I had the car tinted today and now the drivers side window switch will not operate the passenger side window. The switch on the passenger side works fine and the window operates perfect. The drivers side window operates perfect.
The tint guys are still out there trying to fix this. There isn't some locking mechanism that could be preventing this correct? Or did they somehow short the switch out only on the passenger side switch? So aggravating.
My passenger window switch has stopped working. At first it did not want to open and close using the main switch on the driver door . (2008 1.6 3 door hatch). Then it also stopped operating on the single switch by the passenger door. Luckily its in a closed position. Is there any possible fixes, bar having to buy a new switch, as its proving hard to locate. Mostly main switches for the sedans available.
View 2 RepliesMy father in-law gave us a 1996 explorer AWD with a 5.0 for my son who is 16. A couple of weeks later he's out learning with my wife and a very strong electrical smell took over the cabin. They came right home and when I got in I found all of the gauges not working. The instrument lights work, blinkers work, but all gauges do nothing. Pulled cluster and wires look O.K. behind it from what I can see. They saw no smoke, just smell, fuses look O.K.. What could cook on this vehicle that would wipe out just the gauges?

After long search found the button which switched ECO mode off in multi information display BUT the green ECO word still kept displaying on Hybrid system Indicator. So now I am confused, do I still have ECO mode on or not? And how can i get that green ECO message of my hybrid meter?
View 3 RepliesMy AC is no longer running. Last summer it would struggle to get cold, but when in motion it did pretty well - just not freezing cold. Last few weeks it seemed like the compressor would switch off when stopped. Then past week, I hit the AC button (light comes on, fan switches to low, and the relay clicks) but it sounds like the AC compressor isn't engaging. The dryer is frosty to the touch, but the low and high ports in the bay are warm/hot. I checked the pressure and it was through the roof. I vented some (I know I know) out, but all that came out mostly was air with a bit of the refrigerant squirt once or twice during the vent. Still no success. Should there be air coming out of the low pressure port?

I just bought a Euro Headlight switch from ECS, it doesn't turn off the day time running lights, they come on when I release the e-brake just like the oem switch allows..
View 7 RepliesI'd like to turn off my drl's.....getting new front bulbs and going to install some led's to use as drl's. Up to now, I've only read about using VAG-COM to turn off. I just came across a YouTube demo about turning off drl's by pulling out switch on dash, disconnecting switch from connector and bending down a prong inside the connector. Sounds and looks simple. I haven't seen this method written up on Vortex before....
View 3 RepliesThe switch for turning overdrive off that's located on the auto trans shifter stopped working. I've taken off the column cover to see if the wires have been severed from the tilt wheel, but nothing wrong there. I also checked the fuses, and all is well. Is it possible that the switch is bad at the end of the shifter, or somewhere farther down the column?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2005 excursion with about 112,000 miles and last week all 5 doors decided to stop working on me when trying to lock or unlock with the remote or the door switch. I do hear a sound like something is happening just right of the fuse box. I did a little research and found that this is a wide spread problem. I did order 4 of the 5 actuators and I replaced the drivers door but nothing yet. Do they all have to be replaced in order to work? Or is it most likely something else causing this? Just trying to figure it out before I install the other actuators or take it in to a shop.
View 1 RepliesSo all but the driver door window switch stopped working including the lock and unlock buttons. The windows still go up and down but from the other door switches.
My best guess is the master switch is gone bad. And at over 65k I'm sure it's no longer under warranty. I called the local dealer today and quoted me over $500 and would not give me the part number.
After parking the car for 15mins and turned the car back on, decided to try again. Everything works now I haven't taken anything apart yet but now I'm curious what caused it to temporarily fail.
After 30 mins of the car being on I decided to roll the windows up but the switch was dead again.
Having a problem with my truck and I'm stuck. About 9 months ago my 4wd stopped working. Turn the switch and no light or noise. I took a look at fuses and everything was good there. I let it go but now I need 4wd. Today I checked every fuse and all of them were good. I moved to the relays checked them and they were good but for the heck of it replaced them. Checked for power at the pins. The one that needed power had power. Next I went to the switch had 12 volts there. Pulled switch and test with a multimeter and ohms were good. Went. Down to the motor and tested for power there not power to the motor. Is there anything else I'm missing Esof not working. 2002 f350 7.3 auto....
