I have no clue what is wrong but I have an exhaust leak and when I am accelerating I can hear the loud shhh sound like the turbo is leaking but I still have power like normal.

View 1 RepliesSo I have MFD display errors for "main beam not working" on both sides but both of my headlights, lows and highs both work fine. this has been like this for a few months now. I can clear the codes with my VAGCOM and after a day or two they come right back. I do have LED license plate lights but for at least a year i only got the error code on startup for the plate lights but never headlights. A little confused as to what is tripping the headlight codes
View 3 RepliesI have a 2001 Passat GLS 4 cylinder. At Idle the car surges from about 800-1200 Rpms. seems to run fine while on the gas. but always surges while not on the gas. The check engine light is on, and autozone gave the following codes :

Shop said o2 sensor and they just want to replace one. I can get universals for around 80 each, will they work if this is in fact the problem?

Then I noticed that connection between Fuel pressure regulator and Intake monifold is broken. Fixed , now after 200 km no errors. Could it be the reason for above errors?

Got an error for tire pressure monitoring. Is it just a bad switch?
Error for parking brake. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
When I turn on the car, I let it idle for about 2-3 minutes and then I drive off. When I do, I notice that there is a clicking noise for about the first 10-15 minutes while i am pushing the gas pedal. After that it seems like it has been warmed up. My dealer said it could be the drivetrain or the exhaust....I dunno who or what to believe.
View 14 RepliesI have a 06 2.0T and noticed last night when stopped at a light, a loud whistling noise was heard. When I would accelerate, the noise would go away but when coasting, it could be heard again. Is this the diverter valve? Is it easy to change?
View 12 RepliesFor a week now, my car whistle pretty loudly (I can hear it windows closed) when accelerating. After reading about 2.0t problems, I thought it was either a bad DV or PCV. I tried to diagnose if my problem was related to a bad pcv. So I disconnect the tube going from the intake to the pcv and plug the hole on the intake. Then I went for a ride and it whistle like before...so does this test confirm that my pcv isn't my problem?
As of now, I never saw traces of oil around the oil filler cap. When the engine is running, as soon as I press on the accelerator(even lightly), the whistle begin. As soon as I remove my foot, it whistle for a second then it stop. At a stop, if I press on the accelerator, the whistle will begin at only 5500 rpm and up.
No CEL so far related to lost of boost(I had a cel last week and they change fuel sensors and regulator). Also, the car pull pretty constantly but seem less powerful than before.
I've been hearing a slight clunk when accelerating from a stop, a very faint split second clunk between in 1st year.
Last week, I pointed the noise to a technician at my dealer and he diagnosed it as the cam adjuster lurching backward as the car moves forward.
He replaced the cam adjuster and the gasket set (058-109-088-E, 058-198-217, and 058-198-025-A). When I got the car back, it seemed like he had fixed the problem. However a week later, the noise is back.
My car stared to make this horrible screaming noise like a bad belt when I was on the freeway. When I would accelerate the slightest it would go away. Take my foot off of the accelerator, the noise would start again. I pulled over then the check engine light came on. I had it towed home.
View 9 RepliesGf's 01 B5 Wagon(tip) has the clunking noise only on accelerating from a stop,does not do it any other time,does it in tip mode as well,tie rod ends,rotors and front brakes were replaced about 2 months ago,could this be a ball joint/control arm issue,I read as much on this in the other threads when I searched,no noise on turning or braking,possible mount issue?
View 2 RepliesI had both fronts replaced about a month or so ago. Now it feels like my driver side is still making a vibrating noise when accelerating. My mechanic told me he thinks its making noise between gears. The only reason I don't think that's what it is, is because it never made this noise before I had them replaced. They were replaced with Empi axles. Should i just have it replaced and see if it still makes noise.
View 5 RepliesOK, I recently purchased a 2009 Passat 2.0 & love the car with the exception of one thing that's driving me crazy. When slowly accelerating & the RPM's are between 2-3000 rpm there's a loud buzzing noise from the engine. (Sounds like a kazoo) Again, it only happens when accelerating slowly & will happen at all speeds.
View 8 RepliesNot sure if normal or a malfunction. Twice over the winter here in MN I have been accelerating and when I hit a icy patch the car made a loud thump/clunk noise loud enough to make be think something broke or that I ran over something like an ice block.
I had it looked at by the dealer and everything is suppose to be working normal. I tried to replicate ite on some ice but the traction control kicks in like normal with the flashing and all. I don't normally accelerate hard so it's rare I get traction control to activate.

I just has a gen 2 haldex and wireless controller installed. 10 minutes of driving around getting on it in sport mode, I feel a thunk from the back and when slowing down a few odd shudders. Drove it cautiously a bit more and felt fine, then harder and harder. Felt better, no understeer, seemed ok.
Got home and scanned with Vagcom, got the errors below, cleared DTC and scanned again, same errors.

Ok, It doesn't start, it tries to but doesn't get there, its not the battery the alternator, the starter or the battery terminals which goes to my second question...for error codes do I just pop them in google to see what they mean or is there a better site??....reason why I'm removing the lip its because its being towed to the mechanic, its at my job's parking lot right now, first time ever my VW leaves me stranded but I guess it happens:

My fuel consumption in town is around 12 mpg, so a bit higher than what others report. The cats were removed because they were in bad condition. I suspect excess fuel was sent to the cats. That would also explain the bad mpg ?
I'm reaching out to see if any other MQB platform owners who had DCC/Magride are experiencing suspension errors after upgrading to coilovers while employing a delete kit. Some of us S3 owners have been running into this issue after such an upgrade and using this kit by KW. I can throw a suspension error on demand in my S3 by taking a turn/curve at 40mph+ (highway on/off ramps work perfectly for this). A bumpy road or hard braking can also cause an error to be thrown.
Aside from the error being annoying sounding and looking it also re-enabled traction control. You cannot turn traction control back off until you've power cycled the car. This is a pretty annoying side effect that could also be pretty dangerous under the right circumstances. KW seems to think their kit is operating correctly and that the height sensors are out of range due to lowering the car. Currently there's no way to adjust where the height sensors sit so in my personal opinion this seems like a massive oversight on KWs part and their product is not working correctly.
