Took a little road trip this weekend and now my ESP light won't turn off. I was on the highway in cruise control doing about 70mph, the light flashed, however i was not slipping or losing traction. It has stayed on since even after I shut the car off. No CEL. its a 1.8t FWD
View 7 RepliesWhile I was driving this morning, I noticed that my turn signal was not staying on. Basically it would blink once and then go out. No ticking either. Seems like some kind of short. The hazard light blinks but with an irregular pattern.

At the dealer now. I have 600 miles on it so I'm assuming it will be warranty covered.
I have a 2001 Volkswagen passat 4motion. Why does my brake lights stay on without me pushing the brakes? it only does it when I have my running lights on but as soon as I turn them off they work.
View 2 RepliesMy emissions workshop light is staying on now in my passat. I don't have a Vag-Com cable for my laptop yet so I scanned for codes with the generic code scanner at Advance Auto. It came up with something about the downstream 02's low voltage or something close to that. It has just over 100k on it now... is this a common issue with these cars? Is it usually the o2's that are the culprit or is it usually a Cat problem? I replaced the PCV hoses (those crappy wire loom looking pieces that fall apart under the engine covers) with much nicer fuel hose and barb fittings thinking that they might have been the culprit, but that was before I scanned it, it obviously didn't work. 2000 LX 4-Motion...
View 9 RepliesI thought nothing of the ESP light when I was driving home since it just snowed another foot and it was slippery. But, just got home and when I turned the car off I noticed the displays are staying illuminated with the keys out and doors shut. Not the center info display in red the small ones to the sides .. One is the odo/km display. Are these related ? I disconnected the battery since I have to sleep and don't want to wake up to a dead battery.

However, today I found out (after someone told me several hours later) that my headlights were still on. As far as I know, if I leave the lights on, turn the car off, and lock it, it should turn off within a few minutes, correct (previous experiences seem to indicate this is right)?
View 14 RepliesI have 2007 Hyundai Sonata SE V6, 72k. Out of warranty. Problem is parking lights does not turn off when I turn off the car and take the key out. I have to play with the switch from On to Auto many times in order to turn them off. Sounds like stuck relay. I also have "auto switch off" feature which is supposed to turn off everything when I open the driver’s door AND the key is out. This does not turn off the lights as well. Lately it is very difficult to turn them off, especially when the car has been running for some time. Brake switch as per the recall has been changed in the past.
I went to the dealership, paid $110 for diagnostics and they said I need to replace the junction fuse box in the engine compartment - I found such a box for less and replaced it myself. Problem still exist. After reading some more online, the forums said that the parking relay is integrated in the other junction/fuse box – the one under the left front dash (91950-3K560).
Can this box be opened and fixed? Is there another solution other than replacing the fuse box?
Had an issue arise today where out of the blue my turn signal decided to turn on and stay on... and i do not mean it was blinking as if i was going to turn i mean solid on, no clue what caused the issue, the stalk is still in the middle position, and when i turn the other side on (passenger/right) it blinks normally, now if I turn the hazards on they both come on and stay on solid, this problem does not even stop when i pull the key out of the ignition, I have to remove the negative battery strap for it to turn off completely.

View 1 RepliesI just bought a 2001 1.8t passat and the emergency brake the other day stopped working. The button is pushed in all the way and will not come back out, so it does not click when the brake lever is pulled up and will come back down when let go of. The brakes do work when the lever is pulled however. Also, keeping the car in 1st gear while parked is alright? Even on a hill?
View 2 RepliesHappened to pop into my garage tonight and notice my brake lights on my 04 GLX won't turn off. I checked to make sure I didn't leave the main lights on or anything else I can think of. The only way I could get the lights to stay of was to pull fuse 13.
View 8 RepliesI would like to buy a 99 B5, with a 2.8 V6 30V 5 speed GLX. The car is running smooth, accelerates well, but there is a fault with the ABS/BRAKE system. When the car starts up, the ABS and the BRAKE warning lamps are staying on, and the central display says "STOP", "BREMSEN FEHLER", "BERTIEBS ANLEITUNG".
Can I find out the system fault from these messages, or should I get the codes? Does it mean that not just the ABS system is faulty but there is something wrong with the brakes too? I did a test drive, and put on the brakes hardly, and the car stopped well.
And there is an other question..the cluster shows the info in "euro mode" (km, l/100km, german language, etc). I would like to see the info in english, and MPG's and miles, so how can I set back to "US mode"?
Alright so noticed the other day that my temp gauge was staying pinned at cold. every once in a while it will jump up to the normal range but not for more than a few seconds to a minute before it drops back to cold. I just bought the car so I've still got a warranty from the dealer and im fairly convinced that I don't have to bee too concerned with it over heating because when the gauge DOES register its saying normal. just thought id ask here before i drive the 2 hours back to where i bought the car.
View 11 RepliesYesterday i was on my way to fill 100oct, on my way i encountered heavy rains and big puddles. After 15-20min drive to the gas station i filled her up and setup the 100oct tune, after i noticed the check engine light was on and epc light too.
So i set her back to stock tune and back to 100oct tune and the CEL went away but the epc light wont go away. Why it stayed on? The car still runs good.
I was driving to work this morning and my ESP light came on, but wouldn't turn off... I just finished getting my window regulator fixed, so I am really not ready for another repair just yet. Can I continue to drive the car with the light on?

What do I need to fix this I am tired of leaning way over and tryind to open that door every time I turn the truck off. I have been told to spray wd-40 into the door catch are i used a whole can an it still isn't working...

View 2 RepliesI have a 2011 Sonata Limited, and have had no problems with it until now - the low gas light came on while I drove to work with the fuel gauge showing more than half a tank just before that.
I stopped at a gas station and put $10 of gas in just to be sure it wasn't wrong, but started it up again and the light stayed on.
