My drivers side window slide (crashed, but didn't break) into the door panel. When I try to put the window up, I hear clicking noises. All other windows work fine.

View 1 RepliesCame off it's track and has fallen into the door. Is there a thread on a rescue attempt that includes removing the inner door panels?
View 3 RepliesMy driver's side window on my 2001.5 GLS V6 recently seems like it slipped off the track and won't go back up. When I push the window button, it's making a grinding noise. It sounds like the motor still works but either something is stuck in there or the window is off the track. My issue is how do I take the door panel apart so I can look at what is going on? Also, I'm fairly good at mechanical stuff but is this something I should leave to VW to fix?

View 6 RepliesHow do I remove the passenger side rear door panel to gain access to the bottom of the window to jam it in the closed position, 2004 Jeep GC. Window regulator cable broke, window slid down, I pushed the window up & shimmed it with a door stop to keep it up. Replacing the regulator & cable is very expensive & I don't care if the window works or not. I removed a screw from behind the inside door handle & from the grip cup (used to close the door) & pulled the top of the panel about 2 inches away from the door. It appears that something beside the snap-in clips is preventing the rest of the panel from popping off.

How can i remove the door panel while the door is locked? replacing the actuator assembly is no big deal as I have done it to the passenger front door, but I was able to get the door open to remove the panel. i don't believe I can remove the rear panel without getting the door open...

View 1 RepliesI took off the door panel of the passenger side door because i needed the serial number for my speaker which is going out, well once iI got everything i needed i replaced the door panel back on it was actually quite simple and took less that 10 mins I didn't even unplug ANYTHING, but then when i get into my car to start it up and go to my mom's house it wont start, nor will it unlock with the key, the lights and everything come on but the engine wont start!

View 1 RepliesHere's a video of how to remove the interior drivers' side door panel.
You'll need a t30 torx driver, trim/pry tools and a pair of needle nose pliers. It's really easy and the parts are pretty durable.
As I pull off the panel you can see that something falls out of the bottom. It's one of the t30 torx screws that gets rotated 90 degrees. It simply pops back into the hole.
I had to wrap it up quickly at the end...a bee flew in the shot and I'm allergic. I think you can see the panic in me even though I'm not actually facing the camera.
How to remove the rear door panels I made a thread for that awhile ago. Here's the link to that one: [URL] .....

View 14 RepliesMy 1999 Passat has the common "power window goes up, but won't go down" problem in the right rear door. I followed the advice in this forum and re-inserted the plastic pin. A few weeks later it popped out. I re-inserted it again this time with some glue. It held for a few months before popping out again. I bought a new pin from the dealer but the new pin fits so tight it is impossible to insert it into the hole at the base of the window. Maybe I don't have enough experience jamming things into tight holes, but I suspect there is a special trick needed to insert the pin. I can see why the old pin kept popping out since it wasn't tight enough to keep it secure. How to Insert brand new Plastic Pin in Regulator?
View 6 RepliesI just got home tonight from work and was rolling up the windows and I heard a pop noise and my window fell inside the door. So after some time I got the panel off to the metal plate and took out the two rubber circles pieces and I can see that the front track had a broken plastic clip, after I touched it, it fell inside the door. So after looking into this it seems to be common. So where can I get a replacement piece and how do I install it. I can't seem to get the metal panel off, does it even need to come off or do I install the clip through the little circle hole.
View 12 RepliesJust noticed my front drivers side door hinges are loose.. looks like the sleeves are cactus. Just wondering if these can be re-sleeved or is it preferable to just order new hinges?
