View 1 RepliesSo this is my problem. So my driver's running boards lights weren't working, but my passenger side was, I had ordered brand new lights and bulbs so I decided to start with my driver side. After I had taken out the light itself and the bulb I found out that the connector was corroded and the new bulbs when I put them in wouldn't work, so I cut the wires and sliced new wires together probably very amateurly. I started with the backlight and that one went well then move to the front driver side running board light and after I had plugged in the light they all stopped working along with my power windows, my power seats, the interior dome lights, my mileage on my instrument cluster doesn't show anymore. By the way when I was checking this fuse box I noticed that 35 was blown which is a 10 amp fuse which goes to the instrument cluster, so I replaced it with a new 10 amp and it blew immediately what could be going on.
View 11 RepliesThe rear driver side running lights don't work, brakes blinker and reverse lights work fine, I tried the panel from the pass side on the right side and the same thing happened everything else but running lights. Where do I start ?
View 2 Repliesdriver side headlight doesn't work on my 2000 volvo s40. mechanic says its not getting power and the computer chip needs to be replaced. How to fix it without replacing computer chip.
View 1 RepliesOn Tuesday I discovered that my drivers side headlight wasn't working, so I bought a light-bulb and went to replace the light. It turns none of the wires are still attached to the light holder and so the light is obviously not attached to the car. Is it likely that they all broke off at once or that someone cut them? (I have some nasty neighbors). Is it going to be really expensive to get this fixed? Can I buy the part that attaches to the light-bulb that has the wires attached and attach the wires to the car myself? If so, what is the part called so that I can order it?
View 6 RepliesSo sometimes my front drivers headlight and drivers taillight decides not to work. Sometimes one will work and the other wont and other times they all will be working fine. I've checked the fuses and the bulbs and they both are fine.
View 10 RepliesMy driverside headlight randomly stopped working last night after i came out from a restaurant. the driverside was off the most of the ride home until it flickered on. now it randomly will only turn on for a split second then shut off.
i recently had my headlight / front bumper replaced and i was wondering what could cause this? normally if it was hid instead of led i would say its a weak ballast or so but i do not know how the LED headlights work. also the car is too new to have a weak ballast.
i do not believe its a fuse because the headlight will not turn on at all if it was a fuse. i also checked the box and all the fuses look intact.
So about a 2 weeks ago my drivers side headlight went out. I figured it was the bulb (even though I had just replaced them about a month prior). Got new bulbs and nothing. I checked the fuse and it was not blown. I made sure the electrical connections to the bulb weren't dirty and were connected properly.
Then last night my passenger low beam went out. I had changed the bulb when the other side went out 2 weeks ago. Its still brand new and not blown. I did the same thing, the fuse is not blown and the electrical connectors are clean and secure.
I just took my car into the dealer about a week before the driver's light went out and did their "Major Service". They did tell me that I would need to replace my battery soon. Could this be the cause?
I drive a 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE 2.4L
I dropped off my 2012 Passat to the dealer this morning because the driver's DRL was out and the passenger headlight was out. Normally I'd change bulbs myself and be on my way but since this is new and under warranty, I let them do the work.
Anyway, fixed the DRL (bad bulb). But the passenger headlight assembly needs replacing. Seems I have fallen victim to a melted housing causing a failure. I've read about the situation somewhere here on the forums and suspected it might be the case. So VW is 2-3 days out on getting a new part and I'm in a loaner for the time being.
I'm guessing this happens a lot with this part. I wonder if VW will issue a recall in the future.
A few weeks back I started noticing the driver's side headlight would go out when I started up the car after work. If I drove it around & restarted about 10 mins later, the headlight would come back on, got sick of that after a week so I replaced the bulb and the same thing happens. It happens only when I leave work, any other time it's fine, even went on vacation for a week w/out any probs. The only thing I can think of is the heat from sitting out on the parking lot all day does something, what might be going on?
View 5 RepliesI have condensation inside my driver's side headlight on my 06 Passat. fix? New seal? Etc....
View 3 RepliesI just got a set of OEM headlights put in my car. The first time i drove it at night, i noticed that the driver's side headlight dropped short of the coverage that the passenger side headlight did (distance wise). How can i adjust this?
View 1 RepliesEncountered a problem with the headlights. I had to replace my driver side headlight. It worked great for a few weeks until the low beam just died out. It seemed as if the connector that holds the bulb got fried. I took it to the dealership and they replaced it for free. I believe they changed the socket inside the headlight piece because it was burnt. It worked great for two weeks until it just started acting up again. If I try to nudge the socket that holds the bulb i can get it back on, but once I let go it just dies out again. What can cause this? I even switched the bulbs and bulb holders between the two headlights. It worked briefly but once I hit a large bump it moved around and just died again. Now I cant even get it to click back in place. It only lights up if I shake the socket around but doesn't stay lit without support.
View 24 RepliesMy driver side low beam is not working. I checked the bulb and it's fine. I also checked the fuse and it's fine. Took it to the dealer and they said could be a few hours of labour to determine where the problem is in the wiring.
View 8 RepliesI'm on my way out and someone on the road just told me that my brake lights are both out. My rear running lights do work. Is this a fuse problem? What is the number where this fuse is located?
View 1 RepliesSo on my 06 passat, the headlight on the driver's side is crooked like severally to the point I have to use my brights at night. Do these cars come with motion headlights? How would I go about fixing this or do I need a new headlamp???
View 5 RepliesI did the search for this and there seems to be a link that details how to remove the driver's side headlight bulb housing which is different than the passenger side. I got that side replaced with no problem but the driver's side seems to be a pain to remove.
View 4 RepliesI had a low beam bulb go out a month ago on the driver side. I bought some silvania silverstars to install on both sides. The drivers side went fine but as I installed the passenger side the inside reflector housing came loose, apparently popping off some spring clips inside the headlight housing. The passenger side headlight assembly now pointed towards the ground 10 feet in front of the car... I tried to adjust the screws to bring the light pattern back up. No joy.
Anyway I messed and messed trying to get the reflector housing to fit back on the spring clips. I ended up having to pull the bumper apart and the whole front side of the car to totally remove the headlight assembly. Once I got it out I found these little ball/socket spring clips and was able to put the assembly back together.
Now my issue is I have lost track of the adjustment screws and where the headlights should point. Any formula such as, "park your car 10ft from the garage door on the flat level. The low beam should be 30 inches off the ground on the bottom and the 40 inches at the top. The beam should be 50 inches from the center line of the car" Something like that so that I can get my headlights back to factory settings.
I have always seemed to have a moderate amount of water condensation on the glass inside the driver's side headlight. How does it get started and how do I rid myself of this small problem?
View 6 RepliesI need to replace the low beam headlight on the drivers side. Any quick way to do this, and how much and what type is the bulb?
