Okay first i will start with the driver side window... it doesnt want to go up or down but it creates a clicking noise, and then the blower doesnt blow anymore.
View 4 RepliesIts a fairly quiet clicking noise. Not constant and starts randomly. I can really hear it when i am in the fast lane next to a barrier or crub? I recently started autoxing. So maybe i beat up something - what it would be though. I checked all my fender liners and splash guard. Everything looks good, but this noise is driving me nuts.
View 4 RepliesI have an 03 ranger and my driver side window will not roll down... My pass side rolls down just fine...when I push the down button all I get is a clicking noise out of what seems to be a little black box underneath the driver side dash and I can actually physically feel the clicking along with hearing it... When I push up on the button I get no noise or anything... this might be the motor...the regulator...or the actual switch?

View 2 RepliesI have an issue with Prius 2005 driver side power window constantly making clicking sound even after turning off the Prius. All other power windows works, just the driver side is having this issue. This started happening after I changed the 12V battery for my Prius.
The window still rolls down and up but it's very slow and making even louder clicking sound while rolling down and up. Also an other thing that I noticed is that windows keep going down slowly by itself after it's been closed. Any clue as to what went wrong with my driver side power window ?
Driver side window wont go down anymore on my passat 02 checked the regulator and clips they are fine to make matters worse the motor is also working? but the window still wont go down... Also i get a lot wind noise coming through once on the motorway is this because the seals are worn out?
View 3 RepliesYesterday, the driver side window in my Passat (1.8T, year 1999) kind of "dropped", and wouldn't close now. When I try to close using the switch, I can hear as if a motor is rotating for a few seconds, but nothing happens. What might be the cause? Can it be fixed relatively easily without making a trip to the dealer?
View 1 RepliesJust dropped the car off at the dealership with the driver's side rear window stuck down. My local dealer here was pretty good, had the car inside (is expected to rain today) and put me in a rental.
In addition, they are going to investigate my touchscreen, as I've been having some red/white flickering issues when it is?
I have an 02 Passat with a passenger side window motor problem. The window works fine from the drivers side and will go up using the pass. side switch, but it will not go down. It makes a clicking noise each time I press the switch and the window sort of acts like it wants to move down. I took the door panel off and checked the switch and the wires going to the motor and every thing looked ok. I checked the switch with a multimeter and it appears to be ok. What else I can check?
View 6 RepliesSo my battery had died and just got a new one. But i noticed that my automatic up/down on the drivers side window doesn't work, I have to keep pressing the button for it to go up or down.... the other 3 windows are working perfectly. Is there a way to fix this?
View 3 RepliesRolling up windows last night and all my windows go up except for drivers side. I can hear the motor so that's not the problem, I believe the window got taken out of its 'tracks' and is loose in the door. I can hear it moving around in there when I am driving and opening and closing the door. I am trying to be very fragile with it, how to take the door off so I can see the interior of that door.
View 8 RepliesAlright i got a 1999 Passat 1.8t, that I just did a new head gasket, turbo swap on and FMIC, the problem is that the heat only comes in at high revs and at speeds of 35+ and it's getting really annoying now with it being winter and I leave my car for 10 minutes in the cold and come back to see the whole interior side of the glass is frozen..
Also, my driver's side window will not go down, theirs a clicking noise you can hear when I press down on the switch?
It looks like I am going to have to replace my front driver's side power window regulator soon - it is making a bad sound when I power the window down and also the window glass seems to be loose and clunking when I close the door with the window partially or all the way down. These may be two separate issues. I think the motor itself is fine.
In looking at replacement window regulators I see two options. The lower cost option ($50-70) is to just by the regulator cable/pulley/gear assembly.

But I also see options to buy that assembly pre-installed on the metal door plate that it attaches to: [URL]
So, my question is, once I have the door apart and the glass out, is it relatively easy to install a new cable/pulley/gear regulator assembly, or would I be better off buying a pre-installed regulator on a new metal plate?
I know how to take the door apart as I have done this before to change out the door lock/latch module.
I recently bought a 2005 Elantra. At about 45 mph I start noticing air noise from the Driver side window. It peaks at about 70 mph. Not super loud but sounds almost like the window is very slightly cracked open. There is no air intrusion or water during rains.
I had the dealer check it and they test drove and said that it was normal and probably caused by the mirrors.
I have had mirrors like this before on other cars and never had air noise.
My question to you all is; Is this normal or should I pursue it further.
I'm at a complete loss, My drivers side back door has stopped working, Alarm, window and lock, I've checked my fuses, and it seems i only have 3 doors in the fuse box, what are the numbers to the door fuses in the box.
View 9 Repliesrecently my friends driver window in her 2002 passat has stopped working. her car has automatic windows and im hoping its something simple. she doesnt know much about cars, but she says that the window was making a weird noise and her friends dad thought maybe it came off of the track. the window was rolling down halfway than bumping its self back up. than one day it got stuck down at halfway so her friends dad pulled it shut. And now the window is completely stuck up. all of the other windows are working fine.

They say they are ordering a new window guide or something to fix it.
From day 1, my car's been making this wind noise from driver's side window. It sounds like window is very slightly open and wind is sipping through at high speed, 60mph+.
I've read posts about our side mirror shape that might be at fault. I've also seen people mentioning how GS does not have "window fin" thing by side mirror when ES and LS have it.
So today while driving on highway when there was significant wind sipping noise, I folded my side mirror to see if that made any difference. Nope, no difference, not louder, not quieter. So I started to feel my hand along the window from inside, pushing different parts to if that made a difference. And there was one place that made the wind noise go away.
I found out that rubber/plastic guide on the door, top portion, right by the b-pillar, somewhat triangular shape part was loose. On passenger side, it was fitted tight but on driver's side, it was a bit loose. I fixed it tight and test drove, pretty windy weather, no wind noise now!!!
So I have this clicking noise driving me crazy. I just spent the past hour tightening every bolt of the subframe, the front and rear swaybar endlinks, the strut tower bolts, and every other bolt I could see that looked like it could make noise. I also verified that the exhaust wasn't hitting anything. I've had ST coilovers on for the past 17000 miles, so I'm almost positive it has nothing to do with these. I also have the BSH torque arm insert and re-torqued that bolt also.
I'm pretty sure the noise has been there for a while, but I thought it was just rocks kicking up. It has seemed to get louder lately though. Like I said I've looked over everything and the noise is still there. It seems to be from the driver side, but it could just be because I sit there. I can reproduce it when going forward, but not reverse (I don't think anyway). And it is more prevalent at low speed...and going over low speed bumps it makes the noise also.
So I've been having some extra wind-noise from my driver side window when I am driving 50+ m[h. So at my oil change this past week, I noted this with my advisor and she said they would look into it.
Long story short I get my car back Wednesday and everything is taken care of, Windnoise is gone, aluminum side plates fixed and they even filled my tank. from 1/4 to full.
Flash forward to today, Friday. I noticed that my driver and passenger front windows had some stickers on them, noting that they were made in japan and only the car owner can remove them, I also notice there is a haze. I drove about 100miles in the last 2 days, mostly right at the crack of dawn and just before dusk. But today Friday it was ultra bright and I realized there was no tint on my front windows.
Lexus had actually replaced both the driver and passenger windows due to the excess windnoise, which to me is crazy, cause it really wasn't that bad. I called my service advisor about this issue, before I had releaized they replaced the windows and she said they should of re-tinted them and that they forgot too, so bring my car back in next week.
Long story short, Lexus is pretty awesome and I cant believe they replaced the windows for some wind noise. I honestly wouldn't of had them do that and spend all that money for something so insignificant, but kudos to them.
