Started the car on Saturday and drove about 2 miles. Chime came on and display read something like "check gas cap" or "tighten gas cap". Went off about 10 seconds later and never came on again. Cap was tight. Might weather have something to do with this? Beastly hot that day (98) and tank was half full. Never saw that display before.

View 7 RepliesI have a 2005 Prius with around 115,000 miles.
I have the following warning lights on:
1) Check Engine
2) Yellow Indicator, looks like exclamation point inside a circle inside parenthesis.
3) Red Multi-information display (exclamation point inside a triangle)
4) Hybrid System Warning Light on display screen, looks like exclamation point through a car
The engine cranks up just fine and drives forward and backward in the driveway fine. Battery level indicator is blue (see image). I checked for turbulence in the inverter reservoir with the engine off and fluid was flowing.
I checked the 12V battery (using the car's measurements by holding Display and turning lights on and off 3 times) and its value was 12.1 volts without engine and A/C on and 11.8 volts with them on.
The fan in the back right passenger seat is always on now though (I don't remember ever hearing this fan noise before), regardless of engine on or not, even though it's only about 80 degrees outside and it's been sitting idle all day and all last night. It comes on pretty much immediately when the power button is pushed.
My 2015 F350 6.7 has 13,400 miles and displayed the check coolant additive warning as I pulled into town from an 850-mile round trip this weekend. If the radiator in 2015 is still the same as the one used in 2012 etc discussed in another thread?
I will call my local dealer tomorrow. I do not see any obvious leak at this point. I had the oil changed before taking the trip and assume all fluid levels were checked.
I have a 2004 B5 130BHP and the display occasionally reads Emissions Workshop.
View 6 RepliesI have added a quart of recommended oil per the manual (the dipstick is now reading optimal oil). The warning is still on. What actions can be taken and what was the outcome? I am assuming that if the warning is not gone in the morning the sensor is bad.

View 7 RepliesWhen I start up the car in the morning, the infamous "STOP!! CHECK COOLANT LEVEL" warning will come on, and then shortly thereafter it will go away. I topped off the coolant level (with the pink stuff of course) and yet this light will come on occasionally. It mostly comes on first thing in the morning when the car is started up and cold, and *sometimes* come on when the car is warm. Fluid level is all topped off. What gives?
I was reading that there is a fluid level sensor that sometimes goes bad? could this be it? I changed the coolant temp sensor back in the summer of this year. (not sure if that has anything to do with it?) Not sure if I have a leak, cause I look under the car in the morning and I have no spots of coolant anywhere.
I was cleaning my passat the other day and I took my air filter out, however I didn't disconnect the wires and hoses on top of the box, I just raised the top cover up and pulled the filter out and cleaned it and checked it and put it back in, I also took out the cabin filter out and cleaned it and put it back in too, then I started the car and took it for a ride and the car started over heating, it keeps giving me STOP CHECK COOLANT warning and the temperature rises all the way to max RED.
I check the coolant level is at level and the radiator fans are spinning, however I noticed the lower hose that goes from reservoir to the radiator is cooler than the other hoses, what could be the problem? The water in the reservoir is hot too, could this be from a faulty thermostat? a sensor? or somewhere I read there is a fuse somewhere in the engine bay? I'm not too familiar with these 1.8t engines, the temp sensor was acting funny before too like sometimes it would go all the way to zero and stay there and go up and go down to zero and then raise, which I think there might be a bad connection or bad sensor.
I forgot to add the car is a 2003 1.8T.
I Just did a little work on my 2013, lowering springs, BBS rims and Kuhmo tires....
I now get a Check Tires warning every-time at start up.... Clearly it has to do w/ the lack of tire pressure monitors...
Can this error be whipped/cleared? OR do I need to get TPM's? OR do I live w/ it?
My A/C dropped out, which alerted me to the temp gauge which was high, then to the "overheating" warning in the display.
I parked it to allow it to cool, then drove on with the heat cranked to shed some heat, only to have to park it again. After only a 3.5 hr wait (what a joke), VW's roadside sub-contractor showed up with a flat-bed to bring it to Rod East VW in San Antonio.
I am still waiting for their diagnosis. I did take some time this weekend to test drive a truck and look at some other vehicles, but nothing in this price range is appealing to me.
Despite the grief I go through with this thing, it's still the best value. I've got 52k miles on my loaded '04 V8.
I just got the Air Bag Fault light and warning on my display for my 2006 Phaeton. I have not seen any posts on this topic doing a keyword search. This happened the day after I got back to my car at the airport parking and found a cracked windshield that is $825 for the glass alone. Not a good week so far.

View 20 RepliesOver the weekend when starting up my '04 Treg I noticed on the dashboard display the following warning sign "WHEEL FAILURE". Does any one have a clue what that may be? Once started moving the display only showed the little circle sign that you get when the tire pressure monitor senses that one tire has lower than usual pressure. After driving for more than one hour that sign went off. This morning the same warning came on again.
View 6 RepliesThe Tire Pressure Warning System display on my XLE hybrid shows icons for four tires in a horizontal row with the pressure readings beneath each icon. The icons are not arranged in the logical layout of two by two. There is no indication to which tire an icon corresponds. In other words, if the display indicates low pressure beneath one of the four icons in the horizontal row, you do not know to which tire the icon corresponds.
View 14 RepliesMy 2009 Silverado 1500 with only 12,000 miles has begun intermittent display of all warning lights that are normally seen at start up. They stay on for 2-3 seconds and all gauges drop to -0-. When the warning lights go off, the gauges return to normal. It is not as prevalent after engine reaches normal operating temperature.
View 3 Replies"Check lights" just popped up on the display. Low beam lights appeared very weak. Hooked VAG-COM, it said that the right xenon bulb is a problem. Strangely, high beam won't even turn on!? Pulled the right headlight assembly, checked the high beam bulb - no problem. Inspected the inside of the assembly - no visible problem. The xenon bulb looked almost burnt out.

When I started yesterday the red triangular warning light, circular yellow light with exclamation symbol in center, and vsc warning lights did not go off. No previous problem with these. Top half of display screen blank. Vehicle started/ran normally. No change in handling or braking. On highway, cruise control would not activate.
