When I turn on the car, I let it idle for about 2-3 minutes and then I drive off. When I do, I notice that there is a clicking noise for about the first 10-15 minutes while i am pushing the gas pedal. After that it seems like it has been warmed up. My dealer said it could be the drivetrain or the exhaust....I dunno who or what to believe.
View 14 RepliesWhen the engine is cold and I start it, everything is just perfect. After 2 to 3 minutes while idling I start hearing a clicking noise, which is not loud, but I don't like it. I'm sure that there was no noise before. I cannot locate the exact location but it is surely somewhere near the air filter. When I'm close to the front right wheel the noise is most clear and when I lean back behind the wheel.
View 4 RepliesI just purchased an 06 passat 2.0t with 59,000 miles on it. It has the 2 yr /24k mile warranty I've had it about a week.
Today I noticed something odd. The car is in motion, in an overdrive gear, idling (about 1500 rpm). When I push the accelerator lightly, I feel a very faint "pop" or "click" in both feet on the floorboard and can hear a faint click noise as the RPM increases. This happens at any speed, but is more noticable at higher speeds. Again, it is still hardly noticeable at all.
What concerns me is that it is a repeatable condition. Is this something I should worry about now or perhaps wait and see how it develops before worrying about it? It should be noted that there is no gear change when this happens.
I've noticed that when the Prius is shut off a few minutes later you hear a clicking noise from under the drivers seat. Sounds almost like a solenoid. It only happens when the car is shut down.
View 2 RepliesI have had my car a whopping 3 weeks and I noticed a weird click. Was driving my car today between two concrete walls with the windows down, and accelerated in 3rd into a little bit of boost and noticed a click-click-click rapidly as I accelerated. As I let off the gas, it slowed down and stopped. The car is stock, and it doesn't sound like any type of spooling from the turbo itself.

I've been noticed that the car has a loud clicking noise when I accelerate, and it is more noticeable at lower speeds due to less wind noise.

I noticed when accelerating (and the display shows that I am using the ICE but not so much that it shoots up into the "Power" portion on the far right) that the there is a clicking noise coming from the front passenger side of the car.
It sounds very much like this:
I don't hear it when only the electric motor is running, and I don't hear it when I really punch it and the power meter is completely filled up. Its more when the power meter is in the middle of the display and the ICE kicks in and I am slowly accelerating.
When I accelerate from stop the left wheel it like makes a "clicking" noise as the car starts accelerating, once in motion there is no "clicking". What might cause it?
View 6 RepliesLexus IS300... The sound is coming from the rear. It appears to be left rear. It comes and goes, but seems to intensify when accelerating and right turns. It's annoying. It's embarrassing. I have taken it to several different shops and nobody seems to be able to figure it out. What it could be?

I have a 2007 Azera with a 3.8 engine. It has 16000 miles without any problems. There is a clicking noise coming from the engine compartment when accelerating. The noise only occurs when the engine is cold and seems to be more pronounced when accelerating quickly. I do not hear it when the car is idling.

Loses power if stay on accelerator. If let off and then reapply, it will momentarily go away. Appears to be only when air conditioning on. Bad AC or just the pulley?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2011 F250 6.7 Turbo Diesel I recently purchased. I am hearing a noise when accelerating from a stop. The only time I'm hearing it is when the window is down. The noise sounds like someone is tapping an aluminum pop can. It is easily reproducible as well. I decided to get under the truck and have my wife toggle the transmission from park to reverse. They noise does not occur unless one foot is placed on the brake and the accelerator is lightly pressed. (My wife had the opportunity to run me over and claim it as an accident but lucky me she decided not too). Below is a video. I had a hard time locating the noise. It sounds like it may be coming from the exhaust or drive shaft. The drive shaft does not spin when toggling from reverse to drive but the ticking noise can be simulated and heard when lightly pressing the gas while holding the brake. Something need lubed somewhere?

I have a 2000 Passat 1.8 T. When I initially start it up on a cold start I get this load "jet engine" noise which last approx. 2 to 3 minutes. Once the sound stops it sounds like a jet turning off his engines. I do have a check engine light on, but the car seems to work just fine otherwise. No power lose or other problems. What the heck is causing this noise?
View 2 RepliesSo after getting my car back after 7 days. Was getting my Heater core replaced. I now hear a clicking noise from my fan. Doesn't matter if its hot or cold it makes this clicking noised from the Fan. It does it from Low to Mid but stops at high speeds.

I have no clue what is wrong but I have an exhaust leak and when I am accelerating I can hear the loud shhh sound like the turbo is leaking but I still have power like normal.
I have a 06 2.0T and noticed last night when stopped at a light, a loud whistling noise was heard. When I would accelerate, the noise would go away but when coasting, it could be heard again. Is this the diverter valve? Is it easy to change?
View 12 RepliesFor a week now, my car whistle pretty loudly (I can hear it windows closed) when accelerating. After reading about 2.0t problems, I thought it was either a bad DV or PCV. I tried to diagnose if my problem was related to a bad pcv. So I disconnect the tube going from the intake to the pcv and plug the hole on the intake. Then I went for a ride and it whistle like before...so does this test confirm that my pcv isn't my problem?
As of now, I never saw traces of oil around the oil filler cap. When the engine is running, as soon as I press on the accelerator(even lightly), the whistle begin. As soon as I remove my foot, it whistle for a second then it stop. At a stop, if I press on the accelerator, the whistle will begin at only 5500 rpm and up.
No CEL so far related to lost of boost(I had a cel last week and they change fuel sensors and regulator). Also, the car pull pretty constantly but seem less powerful than before.
I've been hearing a slight clunk when accelerating from a stop, a very faint split second clunk between in 1st year.
Last week, I pointed the noise to a technician at my dealer and he diagnosed it as the cam adjuster lurching backward as the car moves forward.
He replaced the cam adjuster and the gasket set (058-109-088-E, 058-198-217, and 058-198-025-A). When I got the car back, it seemed like he had fixed the problem. However a week later, the noise is back.
My car stared to make this horrible screaming noise like a bad belt when I was on the freeway. When I would accelerate the slightest it would go away. Take my foot off of the accelerator, the noise would start again. I pulled over then the check engine light came on. I had it towed home.
View 9 RepliesGf's 01 B5 Wagon(tip) has the clunking noise only on accelerating from a stop,does not do it any other time,does it in tip mode as well,tie rod ends,rotors and front brakes were replaced about 2 months ago,could this be a ball joint/control arm issue,I read as much on this in the other threads when I searched,no noise on turning or braking,possible mount issue?
View 2 RepliesAs the title states, my 1.8 liter manual will not start. No clicking noises, nothing. Once inside the car, the lights and the auto lock work, but the radio, auto trunk, auto gas hinge, windows and radio will not function. The radio says safe mode. I checked all of the fuses, and all are fine.
