How can I check level of oil in Tiptronic Transmission.
View 2 RepliesHow can I check level of oil in Tiptronic Transmission.
View 2 Replies5.8L C6 .... I can't get a good reading on my transmission fluid level. When the truck is cold the level is well above (2") the checkered area.
When the truck is hot, I can't read the dipstick. It either has a little bit of oil well above the checkered area, or there isn't enough in the transmission to register.
How to get an accurate reading?
Any information about checking the fluid levels and changing the fluid on 2011 Prius transmission and differential?
View 3 RepliesWhere to check my trans fluid level and looking for info on changing the fluid (The process). I'm pretty familiar with mechanics and changing fluids this is just my first time on this car.
View 11 RepliesToday when i started driving my car this morning the tiptronic just stopped working....I can shift into the manual column, but when I try to change gears, it just does nothing. I can't even tell if it works intermittently. It shifted up when i was trying to shift down in a few cases. When this would happen, the gear numbers would still pop up on the dash to tell me what gear i was in. Sometimes when I slide it into the manual column, it just remains in "auto mode" if you wil entirely.
The numbers don't pop up on the dash signaling manual mode, and trying to shift does nothing. I even had one moment where it was in "manual mode" when the selector was actually still in the automatic mode. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Sometimes it goes into manual but just wont shift, and sometimes it wont even switch to manual mode. What would cause this? It seems like such an odd problem, I would assume it's electrical...
I have a 99 V6 B5 sedan & the tiptronic function is no longer working but the transmission works fine. When you place the transmission in tiptronic mode the transmission continues to stay in D. Is there a possibility that there is a faulty relay or some electrical malfunction?
View 2 RepliesI know that when the engine oil level is low a screen will pop up saying to replace the oil.
Is there a way to check the oil level without having to use the dip stick?
On my old HCH it would display the oil life on a side toggle display.
I just got a 2000 passat wagon with a 1.8t and tiptronic transmission. The questions is when it is cold the transmission has a hard time to start driving. But as soon as it is warm it drives great. It is throwing a check engine code havent checked it yet.
View 9 RepliesWhen checking the oil I am having difficulties determing the level. It is difficult to determine an actual line of the oil level. Oil is smeared above the dimples of the dipstick. I know it is not two inches above the top dimple. I have two other vehicles in the family and it is very easy to tell the level. After driving how long should I wait for the oil to settle into the pan? How to determine the level on the dipstick. A friend of mine to said to check to see if the lower dimple is filled with oil.
View 1 RepliesAfter trying to check the water level in my auxiliary battery and not getting a clear view of any place to add water, I decided it was time to remove the battery so I could get a better understanding of how this was to be done. I went through the whole process of dismantling all the brackets, clamps and wires that were in the way, removed the battery and, to my surprise, read the warning on the top that said "Never add water" and "Do not attempt to remove cover". Oh well, I'm supposing this is an agm battery and I'm going to let "sleeping dogs lie".
View 13 RepliesI went out and checked my engine oil level when the engine was cold and the oil level was near the bottom of the hash marks. Drove the gti for around 15 min and fully warmed the engine and waited five minutes and rechecked the oil level. to my surprise the oil level was actually higher! it was now at the top of the hash marks. if I added oil when the engine was cold I would've over filled my engine. I always thought it was the other way around with a cold engine all the oil would have drained back to the oil pan and should read higher when cold. Why the oil level reads higher when the engine is at normal operating temperature?
View 5 RepliesI just got a 2016 Camry XLE with auto trans and was looking around under the hood. I can't find the typical auto trans fluid dipstick used to check the level of hydraulic fluid in the trans.
View 4 RepliesI know this may seem like a really dumb question, but I was checking the oil on my 2008 prius today and noticed I get different readings on the front and reverse side of the dipstick. One side I have a halfway mark between the 2 marks, flip it over to the backside and I see my oil level is full. So I'm not really sure what the correct reading is.
View 19 RepliesI know checking your oil level is a pretty easy thing but I am having a serious issue right now. I checked my oil and my dipstick has oil on it but it isn't leaving the napkin wet. Like there is oil on the dip stick but it just doesn't seem right. Nothing on the ground were I stopped at before I got home. How long will it run without causing damage?
View 14 RepliesIs there any way to check your level of the power steering fluid on a 2013 xlt 5.0,
View 4 RepliesOK; I give up. How do I check the trans. fluid level on my 2010 F150 6 spd. auto trans????? I see that there is NOT a dipstick in the engine compartment.
View 14 RepliesIt's a 99 Passat 1.8 T
The last time it was checked: Last year around March-April
I have a question regarding my mk4 jetta. I plan on swapping my tiptronic transmission, which is beginning to fail (at least that's what I'm assuming the really hard upshift is indicating), to a standard manual transmission. The previous owner had it stage1+ tuned.
View 2 RepliesMy transmission has been shifting funny lately in only a couple of the gears. it shifts into drive hard if not warmed up first, and shifts very slow from 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th. I do live in cold weather at the moment and all of these shifting problems go away of are less noticeable once my car has had time to warm up.
View 3 RepliesI am going over this new truck I brought home not long ago. and I haven't picked a service manual up yet but I figure since I've owned manual tranny's before it's pretty obvious on the basics.
The fill and drain plugs are on the same side correct? I found them on the passenger side, figured the top one was the fill plug.. So I remove the plug and I get bathed in gear oil to the armpit and topcoated the driveway; Geesh the smell hasn't changed one bit.. I'm guessing the PO topped the fluid to the top of this transmission. Because I expected to stick my finger in the hole and either feel fluid or not. Not get a bath Unless I removed the wrong square plug.. I don't think I did.
What seals can I expect to be blown because of this if any? I haven't put many miles on it since I bought; it maybe a 100 total. I have no idea though how long it was driven though before I picked it up.
I have a problem with automatic tiptronic transmission my golf MK4 TDI 1.9 2001, it dosent engage on 4th gear when i am driving, the codes that I received for this foults:
