Check engine light is on and my code reader is giving me a P0000 code that is not listed in the Bentley's list of OBD II codes. My nose is telling me it's emissions related as the exhaust smells too rich. And the car is nearly stalling at idle. Suspect #1 is the MAF but the OBD II code does not support this.
View 13 RepliesI just recently purchased a 2001 Prius with 92,000 miles on it and the check engine like comes on frequently. I have a scangauge and I scan for codes and it comes up P0000. I clear the codes the light goes off and everything seems to be ok. I'm not even sure where to start "looking" for something to be wrong.
View 17 RepliesPurchased a used 2005 Prius with 30,000 on the clock. Have put 5,000 miles on the car with no problems. Recently the check engine light came on and my Scan Gauge indicated a trouble code of "P0000". Cleared the code and four days and 500 miles later the check engine light returned with the same code. Car runs great even with the light on. Have check the fuel cap which was and is tight.

Just got a check engine light last night. Pulled the code and got a P202a fault. Some digging indicates its the Ad-Blue tank heater module. TDI forum indicates its anywhere from $850 to 1K to fix. Also that it's not covered under any extended warranty (now there's a shock!) The cars going back to VW so that's not happening.
Is this one of the conditions that will cause the car to go into limp mode at some point? I know that happens when the ad-blue runs low. I'm in Florida so the heater isn't really a big deal. I need to use it another couple of months and I don't want to have this thing leave me stranded. If I have to I'll park it.

Encountered this check engine problem > 16805 and 16815 < I replaced the 02 sensors, problem solved for 1000 kms, and now the dreaded light is showing its face again ! Possible secondary air system at fault? Cat about to go, or already gone?

View 17 RepliesI got a P0118 error code on my car. Looked up some things and most people were saying change coolant temperature sensor. I changed it 2 days ago and have not had a chance to clear the CEL. Its still on now, guy at Autozone would not clear it, said it was against company policy.

I recently purchased a 1999 vw passat gls 1.8t. Initially the guy I bought it off of told me that when he was rebuilding the turbo he stripped the main shaft bolt, so it needed a new turbo. So I bought a k-04 off of ebay and installed it. The battery was dead so I replaced the battery as well. When I first tried to start the car it would start for a second kind of chugging and then die. I went to my local auto parts store and rented a scan tool and it gave me 2 codes. The first code was P1545 and the other was P1818. As far as how many miles the engine has on it I don't know for sure as the engine has been replaced and apparently no one knows how many miles it actually has.
View 2 RepliesWe have a 2003 VW Passat 1.8, front wheel drive. The check engine light is on. The code is p0778. When we start the car the gears light display lights up in red for all gears . We put the car in reverse, back out the garage and when we stop, we get a bump. And we shift to drive the car moves slowly with some hesitation.
Sometimes after the car runs for 10 minutes, then turned of for a few second then started up again, the problem goes away. Before this problem started, we would start the car in the mornings, and put in "R" , and only the reverse gear would light up. (which is the way it is suppose to work).
