I want to change my B5 center console for a B5.5 one. I've heard that I have to change the handbrake handle too, is this a direct swap?
Anything else I have to be aware of? (besides that the fuel door button have to be relocated).
I would like to make one or both of the 12v charging ports in the center console supplied by constant power, instead of accessory fed.
I haven't torn too deep into this car yet, so is there an easier way to do this besides running a lead from the battery? An empty spot in the fuse block perhaps?
Im looking to take this apart and redo it with a suade material aswell as the passenger and driver doors.. any diagram?
View 1 RepliesHaving rattle on the right side of the center console? If so, did the dealership fix it or did you perform a DIY fix? The dealership said they tightened something a few weeks ago, which worked initially, but it is squeaking again. If I press against it with my hand (or have a passenger press their leg against it), the rattle goes away.

On a trip I managed to pop both the fuse in the rear of my 07 B6 Variant and also the one in the rear of the center console. Checking the manual indicates a 20A fuse in both position 33 and 35 in the right hand fuse panel. Following the numbering scheme in the manual there were no fuses of that value there.
What are the correct position numbers. Also following the other threads my power outlets were switched with the ignition.
They use to come and go now they're just gone. The cd player and everything lights up but the a/c quit all together last night.

I have two questions. Is this one of those wear and tear items not covered under the warranty? (I have 13 months left on the OEM warranty). If it is not covered, do I have to replace the whole console or is there a separate part I can buy to fix it myself.
My wife spilled some cola from the cup holders in the center console and it got into the Hi/Low range rotary switch and the stability control button. Now the button and switch are all sticky and barely work. Looking for instructions on how to take the center console apart so I can get to those switches and wash them out with alcohol or something to get them working again...

Tonight I was moving some stuff in my car around and placed my work badge in the console area behind the shifter of my 2011 Camry LE. It's the area with the aux plug in. I will attach picture. Anyways the badge somehow became stuck between the door and the back side. How to remove the lid?

View 13 RepliesMy R is an earlier model with the Aux-in in the glovebox. I cannot think of a more inconvenient place to put an aux in cable which is why they change it I am sure. I would like to reroute the existing one or at least add an extender cable from the glove box to one of the unused buttons near the ash tray.
