Passat (B5) :: Car Is Totally Immobilized, Engine Won't Start

I'm in some sort of crises (passat 2002 GLS); I was trying to inspect the fuel tank release switch on the driver door panel, Now the the car is totally immobilized, can't bring the window up, the remote doesn't open or close the window and most important, the engine is not starting.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Completely Non-responsive / Engine Immobilized

My 2007 Lexus ls460L is completely nonresponsive to anything. The key won't work and it won't lock on unlock from inside the car either. How would I go about resetting the engine immobilizer?

Volvo :: 2002 - How To Reset The Pump After Been Immobilized

Posting for a friend, 2002 Volvo s60 5 cylinder N/A. She got in a fender bender, only seems to be cosmetic damage. Airbags did not deploy. Says it stayed on long enough to pull off the road and then cut out and wouldn't start. I'm not familiar with volvos and any information i have found online is completely contradicting.

Assuming Ecu cut fuel after impact, I have read there's " a switch under the dash" which I find unlikely. Other info say to replace fuel relay and many say it has to be taken to dealer and hooked up. Any information as to reset the pump after it's been immobilized?

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Tapping Noise On Cold Start Up For About 3 To 4 Minutes And Then Totally Disappears

I bought a 1996 Lexus ls400 last July to extend the life of my Santa Fe. So during the summer months, I've hardly been driving the SF. My problem is that if I don't drive it for 4 to 5 days, I get a tapping noise on start up and it continues for about 3 to 4 minutes and then totally disappears. As long as I drive it every other day I never hear that sound. Not sure if this is a recent development or has always been there as the SF used to be my DD.

Mercury - Sable :: 2003 - Stalled When Engine Temperature Was Totally Normal

I have a 2003 Mercury Sable with about 80,000 miles on it. Just took a 900 mile road trip across the desert and 10 miles away from my destination the car stalled. At the time the engine temperature was totally normal and there was more than enough fuel in the tank. The next day I got the oil changed (it was about 1,000 miles overdue...) and also got the fuel filter changed (my mechanic told me that whoever changed it last put it in BACKWARDS!

So happens it was the DEALERSHIP! Ugh). Still the engine is acting funny. At very low speeds the engine will sort of hiccough and jerk just for a moment. In super slow stop and go traffic the engine JERKS when I go from a standstill to a low speed. I need to drive this thing another 900 miles in about 7 weeks and I'd like to have this figured out before then.

Passat (B6) :: FSI Engine Chirp Noise When Start The Car And Engine Is Cold

I have a 2008 FSI engine and I have a chirping noise when I start the car and the engine is cold. The noise goes away when the engine is warmed up. This noise has been like this for a very long time (more than two years) and I was not seriously concerned about this until I found the below video which has exactly the same noise.

The owner in the below video says that the timing belt and the belt tensioner had to be replaced and that his engine was only at 26K miles. I am at 46K miles right now but I definitely had this noise when I was around 20K miles as well.

Touareg :: Battery Has Been Discharged Totally?

I went away for a week and upon returning, I couldn't get my V6 to start. I couldn't get anything to work....auto lock, headlights......and then I discovered the battery has been discharged totally. I am really shocked as how could this have happened. I have checked everything but nothing seems abnormal as I remember checking every detail before locking up the car and leaving for my trip. This is the longest time which I did not use my car. Before that the longest was less than a day. Btw, the car is only 2 months old.

Passat (B5) :: 1998 VW Engine Won't Start

I just bought a used 1998 VW Passat and everything seemed to be working fine until today. I drove the car up the road to get some food, went inside and not even 30 minutes later came back out to get in my car to go to work and the car wouldn't start. I turn the key and push in the clutch like normal and nothing happens except for the lights inside on the dash come on, but the engine doesn't begin to turn over or anything. The emergency flashers in the dash begin to flash automatically, don't know if that has anything to do with it.

She has a 2000 Passat. This has kind of been a recent problem where we would turn the key, hear a single click, and nothing would happen. After a few tries the engine would finally start. This has been going on for a few weeks. Now, it just won't start. The car only has 55k miles on it. Starter motors don't die after so few miles do they? Passat (B5) :: Engine Cranks But Car Won't Start

When I turn the key to start the engine, it makes the sound (I don't know what to call it) that it makes before the engine actually starts but it just keeps doing that. The dash has the battery light on in red so I think that might be the problem. It also flashed "STOP" at me on the dash so I stopped fiddling with it.

The dealership is only a few blocks away but they are closed until tuesday. What is usually the problem in this case? I know almost nothing about how cars work.

Passat (B5) :: No Start / Engine Has Zero Compression

Picked up a 2001 Passat today, it doesn't run. At first I thought it was a timing belt and I was prepared to fix it, but it's NOT the timing belt.. The belt looks good. The car turns over with no interference, I took the valve cover off and everything looks fine. But, the engine has ZERO compression.. it turns over with ease, and a compression tester doesn't even register. The car has the following codes:

Camry 2012+ :: Sun Totally Washes Out LCD Screen On Car

Basically unless its at night the sun totally washes out the lcd screen on my car. Even with tinted windows its pretty bad. I've seen some hoods like they use to cameras and stuff. Any way that don't look hideous to block some sun from hitting the screen?

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Oil Light Came On / Dipstick Totally Dry

I purchased a 2008 LS460 off a lease last summer at 28,000 miles. I had an oil change at 36,000 miles this summer (with one oil change in between). At approx 40,000 miles my oil light came on and after checking the dipstick it was totally dry. It took 2.5 quarts to fill it up. I immediately brought it to my local Lexus dealer. After topping it off they stated they wanted to do a "consumption test" where I drive 1,000 to 1,500 miles and then check the oil level. After 1,400 miles the dipstick looked way down to me (under the lower indicator on the dipstick), but Lexus said it was .4 quarts down and "totally normal consumption." I complained, and we re-performed the test. I had it in there today after 800 miles and the dipstick was less halfway between the full and low on the dipstick. The "master" mechanic again says it is .4 quarts down and "normal oil consumption." If it's .4 down at 800 miles, isn't it gonna be 2 quarts down at 5,000 miles?

I mean i get the oil changed every 3k miles, using synthetic oil, air/fuel/oil filters i always change every 3k miles with the oil change, i also got a tune-up at 45k miles and get the tranny flushed and new tranny oil every 15k miles, I dunno whats up with my passat...

Passat (B5) :: 2002 1.8t Engine Stumbles On Start

I have 57K miles on my 1.8t. It runs great except for the first start of the day. About half of the time, first thing in the morning it runs rough for the first 30 seconds. Like it is running on 2-3 cylinders. Then it sorts out and runs great the rest of the day. I took it to my dealer where they charged me $200 to replace the spark plugs. I would prefer to fix this myself if I can.

Having problems with start up? It feels like the engine wants to stall when I start it and as if the flywheel is so heavy. It also like jerks the car. You can clearly tell it isn't a smooth start up. Maybe the starter?
