View 1 RepliesI have problem in my VW Passat v6 2002. When insert car key to turn on start Engine, The screen shows an error message: "immobil activated" That means: Immobilizer is activated! And after that car is auto turn off then the Engine shut down in one second with flashing key light! As the fuel tank is empty..
But When I try to start again after an hour / two hours it's works!! This situation comes up if the car was parked from last night until the moment of start on in the afternoon!!! What is strange that this problem does not occur only at the time of day warm, Between 5 and 11 o'clock in the afternoon hot days!!! Because this problem is not never happen in the evening and night.
I go to the Workshop for dellership Car Agency. They re-programmable keys, But the problem is still continuing.
Shop said o2 sensor and they just want to replace one. I can get universals for around 80 each, will they work if this is in fact the problem?
View 1 RepliesDriving to work today, was changing from one CD to another with the steering wheel controls, when the current CD indicator started flashing and the error message "CD Error" appeared. Unlike other, similar threads I've seen, the CDs were all able to be ejected, reloaded, and ejected again, but will not play.
View 10 RepliesAlternator on my 2006 GX failed, caused battery to discharge and vehicle stopped. Alternator was replaced, battery (was new) is testing fine. All electronics and indicator lights normal except Nav system. Display reads insert proper disc. I have ejected and reloaded disc multiple times, no change. Disc is OEM, one release back.
View 14 RepliesI have VW Passat 1999 and i have some issue in my car AC cooling system. When I switch on my AC under the sun temperature 45-50 its start working, engaged the compressor and after few second throw the cold air but after some time the air is still there but its hot. I feel there is some issue with engaged the compressor as the radiator fan is running high speed mode.
I hear the clicking sound of AC but its disconnect after maximum 5 sec and then again clicking sound after 15 second (Delay of connecting and disconnecting of AC, its throwing HOT AIR). When I drive the car its working fine and throwing the cold air but the issue is when i stop the car on traffic red light or stop for long time when i stuck in traffic. What and where is the issue ?
I have this error code on my VW 1999 passat 1.8T automatic car. How to resolve it. My friend reset it and CEL went off for few days and now it came back again. How to resolve it??
View 2 RepliesIt happened to passat. Once I hit about 75mph on highway I get a stop engine (oil presser low light). It flashes than goes off once I lower my speed. I checked all fluids are normal. It throws a 12 code an says oil passage blocked, cam positioning sensor, skipped timing chain. These are what the code says could be wrong with it. The car runs fine with no hesitation at idle or normal city driving. I have already flushed the oil with cleaner, and still getting the light.
View 5 RepliesI was able to borrow an OBD-II scanner to read the error code(P1818) currently displayed. I was wondering if the P1818 Error Code is related to a faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM).
View 1 RepliesSometimes my '06 B6 (43K miles) starts then immediately dies. This continues for about 10 - 15 start attempts, then everything returns to normal. When I read error codes I get an immobilizer error - 001299 Incorrect immobilizer key. Also P0513 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent.
View 3 RepliesMy cousin's B5 wagon automatic 1.8T ('00) was shaking and vibrating intermittently. I took it down to Autozone and borrowed an OBD2 scanner. This is what it said (only one code, and the CL was off, although it comes on intermittently):
P0741 - Torque Converter Performance or Stuck Off
P0302
P0301
P1545
P1300 X2
I have no clue what is wrong but I have an exhaust leak and when I am accelerating I can hear the loud shhh sound like the turbo is leaking but I still have power like normal.
The CEL tripped yesterday and this is the code autozone pulled. WHat does it mean.
View 3 RepliesSo I have my CEL light on error codes are P0036 & P0141.... how do I fix it??
View 1 RepliesMy buddy's left front tire came off last night destroyed his rotor and cracked his rim but the weird question is his digital speedometer is reading 18mph not matter if he is moving or standing still and he has a light that shows low tire pressure and system error we check all the connections and connectors but noting is broken. How to fix this or clear out the fault.
View 18 RepliesI went to a stereo shop to have all my doors covered with DynaMat. They did a great job there but now I have an airbag error. How do I reset this? I do have a VCDS cable. I know it was because the battery was not unplugged before the door trim was removed so I'm not that worried, just wondering if VCDS can take care of it or I MUST go to the dealer.
My other issue are the interior lights. I had them all replaced with LED bulbs and when I left the shop I turned the map lights on and all was good. I left the shop to put some fuel in and when I started the car again I had no lights. Now NONE of my interior lights go on. What Happened? I've seen plenty of people with LED bulbs in their cars so I didn't think anything could go wrong? Do I just go back to the stock bulbs?
Check engine light is on... Then about 2 mins into driving Emissions Workshop comes across the dash.. i Ran the code it says
P1176 Oxygen sensor correction limit attained (bank 1)
What exactly does that mean in other words. also what is bank 1? im not sure what oxygen sensor it is out of the 4 of them.
i have a 2000 30v 4motion.
I have a 2003 1.8L Volkswagen Passat which I hate to say I've been lax on taking care of. In the past year I've been good about getting the oil changed and using fully synthetic oil. I am now getting an error message that says STOP Check Oil Press. Stop Motor. I took the car to my mechanic who can't tell me exactly what's wrong. From what I'm reading here, it looks like I'm dealing with "sludge."
My car is at a little over 60,000 miles and I'm wondering what to do. I don't mind spending the money to fix the car, but I really don't know how to figure out exactly what's going on, and what I should do. The mechanic I took the car to is going to completely empty the oil and then get a gage of the true oil level...
P0016 - Crankshaft Position | Camshaft Position Correlation
Bank 1 Sensor A
2006 Passat - 3.6L V6
Here is my issue: I was lazy and waited a bit too long to get my oil changed. I finally did 3 days ago. I have been very busy so I decided to take it to a local mechanic to let them take care of it. They flushed the oil, ran other oil through it with a new oil filter, flushed that, then put in new synthetic oil with another new oil filter. They also replaced the air filter.
Everything was fine for 2 days.
Then, while I was driving in stop and go traffic, the "EPC" and "Engine Malfunction" lights came on. There was also a loss of power and the car seems to wait too long to shift gears.
So, I took it back to the mechanic who had it a few days prior. He pulled the code from it (posted at the top), and cleared the code from the car. That mechanic told me that I need a "cam position indicator sensor". He also claimed that what he did had nothing to do with this issue. I decided to check with the dealer. He cleared the code and I left. After clearing the code, the car drove fine for most of that day, then it returned.
I spoke with the VW dealership's shop manager and he said that he does not believe that is the issue at all and asked me to bring it in. He also mentioned a clogged oil line as being the potential culprit.
I have a 2012 passat se and the airbag error light came on, after it did all the buttons on the steering wheel and the horn stopped working. How is the best way to fix this?
View 4 RepliesI have VW 1999 V6 Turbo Passat automatic Sedan.
It's Check Engine Light [CEL] is ON for a while. The code comes as 1476. The mechanic tried to erase the error, but CEL comes back after 60-100 miles. Clearing the codes works for awhile but Error reappears.
The code is for "EVAP Leak detection pump Malfunction/Insufficient Vacuum".
The local mechanic is not sure what to do about it and suggests me to visit the Dealer/showroom. After last time visit to the VW Dealer/ Mechanic, I am sacred to go again, due to exorbitant cost of the last repair. I don't think it was justified.
What should I do now? Where to start?
