My back left door doesn't unlock when I use my lock/unlock button on my key (works sometimes, but for the most part it does not)... What might be causing this or how I could fix it??

View 2 RepliesWhen I hit the unlock button on my key fob or inside the car the one door just doesn't want to unlock.. I have had someone tell me before that i can unhook my battery for 15mins then do something else.. I can't remember what they said.

View 5 RepliesParked my car in freezing temperatures overnight and noticed the door handle's unlock button is frozen and does not work. Was still frozen after my 45 minute drive to work. Try spraying it overnight with windshield washer to prevent freezing and ice damage?
View 9 RepliesStarting a few weeks ago, my drivers side door of my 2007 Camry doesn't unlock either with the keypad or by using the button within the car. Someone broke something off in the lock eons ago so now I'm just climbing over the passengers side which stinks. This isn't happening all the time, usually just when I'm in a rush But it's happening more frequently.
View 3 RepliesLock/unlock button on door handle failed? Over the past couple of weeks mine has iced up a couple of times. I'm pretty sure water is getting behind the button and freezing. Now it seems like the button only works intermittently, and it definitely has a spongy feel to it when you press it. Off to the dealer I guess. Though if it's because of ice it's probably going to fail every year.....
View 3 RepliesHere is what is happening, if I press the unlock and lock button on remote or from any switch in the car , the front passenger door will not unlock! all of the doors will lock and unlock, except the front passenger dorr will not unlock only, it does lock,just not unlock, i think it may be a bad motor or actuator, I am sure it will be covered under the CPO warranty, especially since its only been less than 1 week since i had it.

I also have a 2012 Honda CRV, and I'd like to set the key fob/car behavior like the CRV, in that when I click the unlock button, all doors open, instead of the 'classic' behavior one click drivers-side, two clicks both sides - is there a way to set this up ?
Also, I used to have a 2005 Honda Accord, and it had a neat option/behavior - hold down the unlock button after unlocking the car, and the driver and passenger side windows go down - pretty handy when you've parked the car during a hot day - can program that into the key fob/car ?
I am getting ready to tackle a few projects on the new X. First I would like to fix the door locks. passenger side front, it makes a noise when i hit the lock/unlock button, but doesn't move. Hoping it is the actuator but wanted to make sure first. Is the actuator the first culprit to fix? I guess, How do i know it is the actuator? Wanna order them from rockauto soon. I've researched on here door actuators, looks pretty simple.

I did replace a battery a ways back ... I can't remember if this started happening right after that or not ... I've lived with it for a while now and am annoyed enough at this point to fix it ... View 6 RepliesMy wife tried to close the hatchback door on our 2010 Prius I, something was in the way, she forced it and now I can't get the door to unlock. I tried the manual door release which is small metal lever on the lock assembly (as covered in the user manual); however, the lock won't release the striker. I've unbolted the lock assembly to see if the striker was jammed in the lock mechanism. I can now rock the lock assembly back and forth and I don't see any foreign objects in the locking mechanism, but still cannot open the lock. How to manually open the lock mechanism (is there somewhere I can apply pressure to force the mechanism to open and release the striker)? Again, the metal lever discussed in the user guide does not work.

View 2 RepliesMy wife's 2012 Pilot EX-L has developed an odd problem. Occasionally the front passenger door will fail to unlock when I use ether the door panel unlock button or the FOB. I figured it was a bad actuator and I was going to fix it next weekend, but today I noticed that when the issue happens the rear trunk also fails to unlock. It seems odd to me to have 2 different actuators go bad together, and really odd to have them both be intermittent and in sync. What else could this be?
I have noticed when it rain really hard water gets into the back door hatch through the screw holes for the license plate. That could be related, or it could be a red herring.
I did a search and read the manual but I can't seem to figure it out. Is there a way to unlock all of the doors by pushing the unlock button on the key fob once? I see in the manual it can be done I think by turning "remote 2 - press unlock" on in the car settings but it doesn't seem to work. Also am I reading correctly that there are no door unlock sensors on the rear doors? With my LS and my old IS I could touch the rear doors and all of the doors would unlock but this can't be done on the GX?

View 7 RepliesI have a 2002 passat. Recently, the door locks have been doing strange things. The key fob will unlock the drivers door only. Yesterday, when I hit the unlock button, the door lock button went up but the door remained locked. Even using the key itself, the door would not open. I had to climb in through the read hatch (it was a wagon or I'd still be locked out). Where the problem lies? The dealer suspects some component in the drivers door is malfunctioning. How to trouble shoot this without taking the door apart? If not, how do I take the door apart?

View 2 RepliesJust passed 700 miles on my new baby, loving every minute of it. What I don't quite understand is why the remote start shuts off when you unlock the door. That just seems so counterintuitive. I'm sure there's a legitimate safety reason why, but it seems to add more wear to the motor by turning it off and on so many more times since one has to start it again once getting inside.
Any way to hack the system in such a way that once remote started the car doesn't shut off when you get in?
Logistically it might be an issue since I'm sure stepping on the brake would shut the car off when running on remote start (since no actual key gets inserted into a keyhole)...but then again the key being in proximity could permit driving the vehicle... I dunno.
I took off the door panel of the passenger side door because i needed the serial number for my speaker which is going out, well once iI got everything i needed i replaced the door panel back on it was actually quite simple and took less that 10 mins I didn't even unplug ANYTHING, but then when i get into my car to start it up and go to my mom's house it wont start, nor will it unlock with the key, the lights and everything come on but the engine wont start!
