View 4 RepliesI got a 2006 2.0t komfort. I started the car this morning and got an airbag fault show up on the dash and now the air bag light is on. What this is and the possible fix?
View 11 RepliesI removed my front seats to steam clean the carpets. After replacement, I get a "Air Bag Fault" warning on the dash. Is that something I can reset?
2000 Passat Wagon V6, 5sp
Well, I recently had the "Airbag Fault" error message (along with the wonderful amber airbag light) both appear on my dash, and oddly enough, I haven't hit anything or bumped anything or done anything that could cause this error. I drive a 2001 VW 1.8T and she only has 48,000 miles on her.
View 1 RepliesGot in my car yesterday and the airbag light on the dash stays on and a airbag fault message pops up in screen next to the speedo. What could be the problem?
View 3 RepliesWell like I said, I have an airbag fault light. I recently installed a sound system and ever since I unplugged the "Passenger air bag light" indicator module from the dash trim piece the air bag light has been on. When a passenger is in my car the air bag does indeed activate and deactive when they get out.
My question, why is my air bag light on? Did unplugging the module from the dash trim peice really cause that? I don't really want to take it to my local dealership and get charged diag time.
so today i removed the radio bezel from my 06 and i left the key on like an idiot and now my airbag fault light is on I reconnected the bezel i make sure that the plug was on and still airbag fault light is on.

View 1 RepliesToday, I got a message on the cluster that said Airbag Fault and then the airbag light has now shown up. Never seen it before...Why I might be now?
View 2 RepliesMy 2015 GTI SE PP 6-speed is 7 months old with only 4000 miles on it. I took her out for a drive on twisting, changing-elevation roads near my house this past Sunday when it was 100 degrees out. My AC was blowing full-force and I was driving moderately hard up a twisty hill at 35 miles an hour in 2nd gear when the EPC light came on and the power was cut noticeably, as it went into limp mode. I pulled over, shut her down and restarted. The EPC light went away, the power came back and I have had no further issues. I only have an OBD II reader, not VAGCOM, and the OBD II didn't read any fault at all.
How concerned should I be about this episode and secondly, what can I look for in case there's a reasonably simple physical issue (like a leaking hose or loose sensor plug) that I can rectify instead of taking it to the dealer (it is under warranty, but my closest dealer does not engender confidence- they treat you like you're a problem when you walk in the door)?
This is my first car with tons of electronics and I'm a little concerned that the EPC issue could get ahead of me. I'm a good wrench, but this is something the ECU is dealing with and I'm not very clear on how to proceed.
Alright just had this light pop up on my 01 passat,
View 1 RepliesStarting a couple of days ago, I am getting the airbag fault light on the dashboard. Can't seem to explain why. I have never changed any wiring on the car, nor installed aftermarket electronics. I have the car for about a year now. At the time when the light came on, the weather outside was very cold.
View 5 RepliesI recently sent for a reset my airbag module, yes my car was in a collision, I replaced passenger airbag(only 1 airbag deployed). And reconnected the module. Using the VAG COM, I scanned the airbag module, shows no fault codes, but i still have a light.. now I'm thinking seatbelts and sensors maybe the problem. Where the sensors for a 2005 passat passenger dash airbag are located.
View 2 RepliesAbout 8 to 10 minutes into the drive and....beeeep, I have an "Airbag Fault" on the dash. Just showed up out of the blue.
View 1 RepliesThis morning when I tried to start my passat I got a number of errors. The car was running fine last night. I had to use all of my keys I had to get it started. At first there was a Air Bag Fault message, and the car would turn over but it wouldn't let itself run. After changing keys I got it started, however none of the gears show up on the LCD. At that time I got the stop low oil pressure light.
When I tried to start the car a third time it told me the car was immobilized. Since then I managed to get the car in the driveway, and now it starts up every time, not like it is immobilized, but I still get the air bag fault and the low oil pressure. Further the RPM's go up when the care starts but then the gauge bounces from 0 to around 1,000 when it is started, and the temp gauge is non functional. The engine itself holds a normal even idle.
After installing the new head unit in my 06 Passat 2.0T, the "Airbag Fault" error appears on the MFD upon startup and the airbag light on the gauge stays on.
View 5 RepliesWhy my low pressure light is on and why my mfd is telling me I have an airbag fault? Where would I want to start diagnosing this problem? I ran power and ground wire with no sensor issues, but once the remote and RCA wires were connected I got the sensor issue.
View 10 Repliestook my car to the dealer to get a key programmed. Its a 2006 passat 2.0t 6speed auto. Anyway, they couldn't get the key to read and now I have a fault on my dash. "Immobilizer adjustment fault". How do I get rid of it?
View 1 Repliesit just pop on the the dash why no accident nobody hit me

I have a full 1 year warranty with the garage who I bought it off and they are linked to VW as well which works but what I need to know is can i get the recall work done on this and what is what withe faults below:
1st - Handbrake fault warning on the dash (only comes on in really bad wet weather?)
