About 8 to 10 minutes into the drive and....beeeep, I have an "Airbag Fault" on the dash. Just showed up out of the blue.

View 1 RepliesStarting a couple of days ago, I am getting the airbag fault light on the dashboard. Can't seem to explain why. I have never changed any wiring on the car, nor installed aftermarket electronics. I have the car for about a year now. At the time when the light came on, the weather outside was very cold.
View 5 RepliesI turned on the car today and about a couple minutes into my drive I noticed the airbag light was on. I pulled over, turned off the car, then turned it back on. The light came on with the rest of the warning lights, turned off when they all turned off, and then came back on a couple seconds later and stayed on. The car has just been sitting in my driveway. Only thing worth noting was that last night, while walking past the car, I noticed I had left one of the windows open. Also noticed my glovebox was open since I had gotten something out of it earlier in the day but forgot to close it. I turned the ignition half way to just use the battery to close the window (without turning the car on) and went to bed.
View 29 RepliesWell like I said, I have an airbag fault light. I recently installed a sound system and ever since I unplugged the "Passenger air bag light" indicator module from the dash trim piece the air bag light has been on. When a passenger is in my car the air bag does indeed activate and deactive when they get out.
My question, why is my air bag light on? Did unplugging the module from the dash trim peice really cause that? I don't really want to take it to my local dealership and get charged diag time.
so today i removed the radio bezel from my 06 and i left the key on like an idiot and now my airbag fault light is on I reconnected the bezel i make sure that the plug was on and still airbag fault light is on.

View 1 RepliesToday, I got a message on the cluster that said Airbag Fault and then the airbag light has now shown up. Never seen it before...Why I might be now?
View 2 RepliesHad the outline of the passenger airbag show on the dashboard? My 2013 Passat has a very noticeable outline on the dash right above the airbag door. The dealer says they have not seen this before.
View 11 RepliesAlright just had this light pop up on my 01 passat,
View 1 RepliesI recently sent for a reset my airbag module, yes my car was in a collision, I replaced passenger airbag(only 1 airbag deployed). And reconnected the module. Using the VAG COM, I scanned the airbag module, shows no fault codes, but i still have a light.. now I'm thinking seatbelts and sensors maybe the problem. Where the sensors for a 2005 passat passenger dash airbag are located.
View 2 RepliesThis morning when I tried to start my passat I got a number of errors. The car was running fine last night. I had to use all of my keys I had to get it started. At first there was a Air Bag Fault message, and the car would turn over but it wouldn't let itself run. After changing keys I got it started, however none of the gears show up on the LCD. At that time I got the stop low oil pressure light.
When I tried to start the car a third time it told me the car was immobilized. Since then I managed to get the car in the driveway, and now it starts up every time, not like it is immobilized, but I still get the air bag fault and the low oil pressure. Further the RPM's go up when the care starts but then the gauge bounces from 0 to around 1,000 when it is started, and the temp gauge is non functional. The engine itself holds a normal even idle.
I got a 2006 2.0t komfort. I started the car this morning and got an airbag fault show up on the dash and now the air bag light is on. What this is and the possible fix?
View 11 RepliesMy airbag light won't go away, and everytime i pass 25mph my dash says airbag fault. Is this another sensor that went out?
View 4 RepliesI removed my front seats to steam clean the carpets. After replacement, I get a "Air Bag Fault" warning on the dash. Is that something I can reset?

Well, I recently had the "Airbag Fault" error message (along with the wonderful amber airbag light) both appear on my dash, and oddly enough, I haven't hit anything or bumped anything or done anything that could cause this error. I drive a 2001 VW 1.8T and she only has 48,000 miles on her.
View 1 RepliesAfter installing the new head unit in my 06 Passat 2.0T, the "Airbag Fault" error appears on the MFD upon startup and the airbag light on the gauge stays on.
View 5 RepliesOwn a 2006 Volkswagen Passat 2.0t a/t. My dash board is showing a parking brake fault but as soon as the that comes up my tranny will go into limp mode ???? could the parking brake and tranny be linked together??? My parking brake still engaged and disengaged ??? what can it be ???
View 8 RepliesWhy my low pressure light is on and why my mfd is telling me I have an airbag fault? Where would I want to start diagnosing this problem? I ran power and ground wire with no sensor issues, but once the remote and RCA wires were connected I got the sensor issue.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2013 VW Passat TDI SE DSG and I was trying to do some tweaks. I found this fault code yesterday and cleared it. I scanned it again this morning and it popped up again. I searched and did not foud anything. No check engine light.

After like 20 minutes drive, my car smells like coolant. but it doesn't leak or something. The coolant is on max, and doesn't move at all. so whats that smell. Everybody said you are leaking coolant, but it isn't.
View 3 RepliesI have a leak somewhere in my car. There are no spots left from my parking stall, or any visible wet spots under the hood, but my car continuously looses fluid somewhere. It disappears fast enough that in a 10 minute drive it can go from full to the coolant light and alarm going off on the dash.
