Passat (B5) :: A/C Blowing Out Ever So Slightly

Blend Door? maybe? exactly what work goes into replacing/repairing this piece? what are the chances of it just being the blend door..if the compressor works, the line is cold, and I know the air is blowing..its just not coming out of the vents.

I just bought a 2000 f250 diesel truck and am having problems with the ac. When I first turn on the ac it blows very cold and works perfectly but after about 5 or 10 minutes it will start blowing warm and slightly humid air for probably around 5 or 10 minutes and then suddenly the very cold air will come back. This cycle repeats over and over again and I'm not sure what is wrong.

I just bought my frist VW, 99 Passat with V6 and tiptronic. Awesome vehicle! The car has 42,000 miles, but no records of any maintenance. What needs to be done at this interval - besides regular oil change, of course. I can also hear some valves going slightly "tik-tak" when cold, is that normal for the 2.8 or should I start worrying about adjustments. Having a bad crank on one of these before, or is it valves I hear? Also, should I change oil every 3,000 or 5,000 miles?

When I'm driving and i let off the gas and come to a stop, my car dips close to 200rpm below idle and shudders slightly and goes back to idle.
My car just doesn't seem to have the amount of power that it should. My roommate has a 1.8t jetta with just a few more mods than I do and his car seems so much faster. I put an APR chip in my car and i still have a lag in the throttle..my car jerks..and it just doesn't seem that my car has the right amount of power.

My '03 W8 with 22,000 miles on it has had a slightly bumpy idle since I got it, the dealer has told me that this is not a big deal. This afternoon, however, I noticed that the idle has suddenly become much rougher, though it has not thrown a CEL. The idle is noticably rough at speeds below 10 mph and while it is fully stopped (in Drive, Neutral, and Park). I just picked my car up from the dealer this afternoon after it had a window control module replaced, and now it looks like I am going to have to go back to the dealer. I know that they are going to give me the run around and try and convince me that nothing is wrong with my car, but the idle is rough enough to shake the whole car and it sounds as if there is a new (or louder) noise coming from under the hood (other than the valvetrain noise). I suspect that this might be the clogged oil screen issue, but I really don't know what to do.

After installing drive gear springs i had a wheel alignment done. Since then the steering wheel is not level even thought the car goes straight it is slightly off. i brought it back 3 times and every time they did the alignment the steering wheel is off either the left of the right. i made an appointment to have it done at the dealer but cant figure out why they cant get it right.

I took my Passat to a VW dealer this weekend for an alignment. I could tell the car was pulling slightly to the right. Later that day, I received a call from the dealer that sub-frame needed to be replaced because they could not align the car. I asked if the sub-frame or any other component was bent because I don't recall hitting anything hitting anything could cause this kind of damage.
The dealer said that there was nothing bent but he could not align the car and I need to replace the sub-frame. I told him I just wanted to pick up the car and take it to another shop. I then received a call half hour later that the front right wheel was pushed back further than the left one and they will try to adjust it. I am not sure what is normally involved in VW alignment but I believe that I am getting poor advice from this dealer. Likewise, I am not sure if some inexperience weekend mechanic who did not know a lot of alignments and just wanted to throw parts at the car?

Just had the unfortunate scene of seeing the engine light go on but I knew something has been up for a couple weeks just couldn't figure it out but today when I came to a stop my car starts revving slightly without me doing anything and when in park the rpms just increase slightly not alot.

Had a little accident with the '12 Passat and the front left side of the bumper popped out a little bit. I have very little experience working with the outer body of cars so I am a little bit hesitant about whether if I should just remove the entire bumper and readjust it, or is there a way that I can realign it without removing it entirely? Though I have no problem removing the bumper if needed.

Just had new front tires installed today and drove home. Car felt fine driving at 60 kph. Drove tonight on the highway and felt a bit of shaking. Its not as severe but can be felt sightly. Didn't feel this (slight) shaking with my old worn tires at highway speeds. What could it be? Btw, bought the car used last year at my local dealer and I haven't done an alignment yet since then.

I have a 2006 V6 4Motion and one of the HID bulbs has slightly dimmed and is projecting a light purple beam. I called my local dealership and was told this is normal and VW will not replace the bulb under warranty unless it's projecting under a certain candlepower or the unit is completely out. I plan on having the dealership check the bulb, but if it's starting to go bad, I will just replace it.

Noticed the steering wheel shakes just slightly at highway speeds. Happens to me when I'm at around 65-70mph and above. It's just very slight, so I really wasn't thinking its an alignment issue at all. I didn't know if this was a bit normal for these B7s or what. I've had alignment issues in cars before and this just doesn't feel that bad, but its enough to give me pause.

I just turned on my car to move it out of the drive way and i noticed it starts rising when cold probably like 25-50 rpm then goes down, then back, and so on. i never noticed this before. is it a cold start assist or something like that ? i dont believe it does it when cold ( never noticed )...

My car has a little bit of a shimmy between 65 and 80, can feel it more when changing lanes slowly, after 80 slows down to almost nothing and by 100 is gone. Road force and high speed balanced, new set of tires (Mich. PS2) still does it. One more detail, the steering wheels is slightly tilted to the left when driving straight, anything to do with this? I'm suspecting the rotors too, but I only have 3,400 miles on my car.

Ok everyone the good weather is back, so the drivers side window is down and, I am back to diagnosing an issue that I've been having for some time now. BTW were dealing with my DD 02 1.8t wagon. So all the time over any little bumps in the road or anything that i roll over that "shakes" the drivers side wheel I get this terrible rattle noise. I mean it sounds like I am a dump truck bombing down the road with a bunch of shovels in it......well not that extreme but that sort of shake noise. Anyway the noise however does not occur over any bumps when i even just slightly apply the brake. So I know that it has got to have something to do with the brake rotor or caliper or something on that wheel. Any common issues with brakes? I mean i doubt it is hurting the performance of the vehicle but it is extremely annoying and i feel like something isn't stable that should be until i apply my brakes.

My brakes were terrible and finally got roders and pads for front yesterday ... well the pad on passenger side was like not there anymore almost metal on metal and driver side was not close to being that bad but like driving down road there was a slight hi pitch tick that only occured when steering wheel was slightly tilted left (counter clockwise).
We redid front pads and roders (did bad not to long ago) and now there a terrible rubbing sound and it only occurs when again wheel tilted left or making a left hand turn cant figure it out thought it was the wire clip to hold caliper in place but that's clearing rim .... it sounds like metal on metal and driving me nut was driving last night and after awhile it did go away but i have feeling it going to happen again when i drive it today ...

I have a 2004 Passat 1.8T and I am having issues with my a/c. it isn't blowing cold air. The first time it happened, I paid to have it recharged and it worked for 2 weeks then it went on the fritz again. I had the gas pressure checked and it is at a regular level. The second cooling fan comes on when the a/c is turned on, the fuse and the relay are also good. I checked the a/c pressure sensor and it is also working properly. I suspect that there is a valve or sensor that has seized up (due to the temporary addition of refrigerant). I also scanned the HVAC for fault codes and the only fault is an air flap position motor.

My b5 passat manual 1.8t engine. my car came chipped on 20lbs. i lowered it to 15. but everytime i boost it doesn't pull hard anymore and it doesn't spool. instead it sounds like its blowing out all the air. Now i have it a 10 lbs because its no point in 15 or 20 because it doesn't make it there anymore. I also have a Forge DV.
Next problem : I can only have my heat at level 1 or else it wont blow hot air. if its a 2 or higher it blows out cool air. my temperature gauge is always in the middle.it only went over once. just a little bit.
Next at around 75 to 80 mph i get this vibration in the steering wheel. Like a minor shake.

So, I get in my car yesterday after being away for the weekend (the car has been sitting for 4 days). I get in and crank the AC and it blows warm air. My first thought was "here we go, I need a new AC compressor". I decided to pull into a driveway and I turned off the car, and then turned it on again. When I restarted the car, the AC kicked in like it is supposed to. Cold air as always. Is this a sign of the AC going out?

2.0t's smoke alot at WOT. I haven't seen it first hand from behind the car, but when I floor it and look in the rear view I see a little bit of smoke. Not black or anything. It has always been this way. Bought the car new (2006). Is this natural for the FSI?
