Passat (B5) :: 2008 W8 - Fuel Injector Wires Have Been Failing
Sep 22, 2006
One of the main on going problems I've had with my 2004 W8 is that the fuel injector wires have been failing, one at a time, a few months apart. So far 5 of the 8 have been replaced. (Actually they weave in an overlay wire set). Four were fixed under the factory warranty, and one was done after 50,000 miles with a (very) small amount of that cost covered by my Warranty Direct extended warranty.
In any case, a few days ago another wire failed. This time completely, causing one cylinder not to fire at all. (The previous times the failed wire just caused intermittent mis-fires). Anyway, this time VWoA got involved and has decided to replace the whole fuel injection wiring harness, on their dime! Even though I have 65,000 miles on the car.

Started my car up this morning and it felt like it was running on 5 cylinders and the check engine light came on.
I looked and a Rat had made a nest with foam insulation and chewed through a fuel injector wire.
2008 Camry V6 77,000 miles.

I bought a 2005 F150 supercrew w/ 5.4 Triton engine brand new. It now has 16000 miles on it and all was well until...
I was driving to work 2 days ago and all of a sudden my truck started acting all weird. I couldn't accelerate and it seemed as though I was driving over rumble strips. I went directly to the garage and they told me that 2 fuel injectors mal-functioned and that flooded everything with gas. I needed 2 injectors and 8 spark plugs. The next day the garage called and said that they replaced the parts but now there is a terrible knocking noise and that I needed a new engine.
I am not a car wiz so what other things should I be aware of? What other questions should I be asking?

My eXcursion is showing the typical signs of a failing fuel pump. It cranks and fires on a few cylinders, then quits. I released the schrader valve on the fuel rail but very little pressure is released. From these indications, and after checking for a blown fuse, it appears the fuel pump is going. I say going because it did start after this happened, but would you trust it?
I ordered a new fuel pump, it's due in tomorrow. I remember seeing instructions on how to drop the tank but can't locate them with the search function. I'm also concerned with how to remove the pump from inside the tank. I know you have to spin off the big plastic ring, how do you get the pump off the bottom of the tank?

This car was bought new 2008. All is well w/ everything. It's a joy to drive. However, we were told last week, that since the car is 8 years old (or soon to be), we should worry about the hybrid battery failing and should consider a new car. So, that's the question. Repair or replace?

I have a 1999 Dodge Stratus in which I am having fuel injector issues with. A few weeks ago I replaced the #4 fuel injector with a new one and now the #4 fuel injector has failed again. What can cause this to happen?

I have a fuel elk coming from the fuel rail on top of an orange; what I can only assume is an injector? Fuel races out of it and puddles beneath the truck. I hate driving it cause now everything stinks like gas. I've tried pushing on it with no luck. How hard would it be to fix this issue? I'm mechanically inclined but feel this may be beyond my skills.

Since my daughter has been complaining for lack of entertainment in the rear-seat while traveling, so rather than purchase a mobile DVD, headrest monitors seemed to make a better investment.
Today I took the headrest out of the drivers side to take some measurements and see if I can route wires through them, to under the seat. Didn't look likely. I also did not see any seat opening at the rear of the front seats.
I have heated seats so I don't wanna mess-up that aspect of these seats. Is there any way to route the wires without tearing up the seats. How this can be done. I want to get this info before ordering the monitors.

I just got this truck about a month ago now and today it started fine and when I got home from work, I ate dinner and then went out and it started fine and once i got home i let it sit for an hour and then went to do more errand and it wouldn't start. I checked fuses and what not it all looks ok. I got the truck to start by jumping the wires on the starter. What might be causing the truck to do this? as i say today is the first time this has happened?

2004 Passat 1.8T ... The unlock part of the remote won't work ... It used to, but won't now ... The trunk release and lock buttons on the remote work just fine though ... I did replace a battery a ways back ... I can't remember if this started happening right after that or not ... I've lived with it for a while now and am annoyed enough at this point to fix it ... In case this comes up, this is the only remote I have for the car right now ... Bought it used and it only came with one ...

I replace an AEB motor in my Passat(1998), but for some odd reason the shift screen is inactive and fail to engage. Fluids have been refilled, reverse light comes on, but no go.

2009 Corolla XLE. 88K miles. My Corolla hadn't been driven for almost a week. This morning the car wouldn't start. Upon turning the ignition key, there was no clicking though. I tried to jump start it multiple times with no success. I thought maybe I am doing something wrong with the jump start.
Called Roadside assistance. The guy had me try to start it once and kind of figured out what was wrong. He started the car and pumped the gas at the same. The car started. He said the vehicle is fuel injected since it has been sitting at the same spot for almost a week. He suggested I should let it run for sometime. Its pretty cold here today (~35F real feel). Since this happened, I started the car multiple times throughout the day without pumping the gas and it did start without any issue.
I am pretty sure its not normal for this car as I never had to do this before. Is there something wrong with the car? Do I need to take the car to the mechanic and have it checked? What should I expect in terms of any mechanical repairs? I dont want to get stranded somewhere and would like to get it fixed.

I have an '88 EXP Escort with the non-HO 1.9L
I was noticing a rough idle (vibrating, sounded like it was bogging down)
I changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Still happening.
Noticed that my o2 sensor was unplugged. Plugged it back in. Still happening.
Went to check the air filter and noticed the insane amount of fuel that was coming from my injector.
I am getting horrible gas mileage (8-12mpg)
Here is a video of what I am seeing: [URL] ....
What would be causing that much fuel to be sent out?
