View 1 RepliesMy 2005 F-250 does not have power when the engine is cold. When the engine warms up then it seems fine. I believe that the fuel injectors need replacement. I was told that one cannot get new injectors. They are all re-manufactured. Is this correct?
View 14 RepliesI may have to replace fuel injector #8 on my 2004 6.0. Aside from doing brakes and rotors, I don't have any experience working on my truck.
Side note- this is the second injector to go bad in the past few months. Ford also wanted to replace the HFCM, so I'll be doing that as well.
One of the main on going problems I've had with my 2004 W8 is that the fuel injector wires have been failing, one at a time, a few months apart. So far 5 of the 8 have been replaced. (Actually they weave in an overlay wire set). Four were fixed under the factory warranty, and one was done after 50,000 miles with a (very) small amount of that cost covered by my Warranty Direct extended warranty.
In any case, a few days ago another wire failed. This time completely, causing one cylinder not to fire at all. (The previous times the failed wire just caused intermittent mis-fires). Anyway, this time VWoA got involved and has decided to replace the whole fuel injection wiring harness, on their dime! Even though I have 65,000 miles on the car.
I bought a 2005 F150 supercrew w/ 5.4 Triton engine brand new. It now has 16000 miles on it and all was well until...
I was driving to work 2 days ago and all of a sudden my truck started acting all weird. I couldn't accelerate and it seemed as though I was driving over rumble strips. I went directly to the garage and they told me that 2 fuel injectors mal-functioned and that flooded everything with gas. I needed 2 injectors and 8 spark plugs. The next day the garage called and said that they replaced the parts but now there is a terrible knocking noise and that I needed a new engine.
I am not a car wiz so what other things should I be aware of? What other questions should I be asking?
cant figur this out have no signal to injectors and no power at fuel pump 88 f150 5-0
View 2 RepliesI have a 94 F250 5.8 liter with 96K miles. Can I remove the fuel rail and clean or replace the filter that is placed at the top of the fuel injector?
View 10 RepliesI changed my fuel pump cause it died and now my mileage is about 100 less per tank? What could it be.
View 2 Replies2002 Passat Wagon. My fuel door wouldn't open last week. Did some reading here, and found that I could manually push in the plunger to pop my door open. Great! Now I could fuel the car. I'm a bit bummed that there's no cable or some other way to manually actuate the motor. Maybe I missed it? I had to open the right cargo door and reach in and around a plastic tray to pull open the door.
Anyway, I grabbed the multi-meter, and tested the harness, while I had a buddy pull the switch. I'm getting 12v when the switch is pulled. OK, so that means the actuator is bad.
I need to remove and reinstall a new actuator. I'm not quite sure how to get enough access to get at the mounting bolts for the actuator. I assume I need to remove interior trim and molding to get at it, but I'm not sure how to do that.
The access door on the right side of the cargo bay allowed me to get my hands in there to pull the door open, and to unplug the harness, but I'm going to need to pull apart interior stuff to get at the motor.
Any pictures or directions on how to disassemble the interior trim to get at this motor?
Rebuilding my 7.3 and I'm in need of the removal and install tool for the injector sleeves/cups for the 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel.
I'll pay all shipping charges and a small fee if required. I hate purchasing a tool I'll never need again, rather better not need.
In the last 300 miles, I have replaced all 8 injectors with rebuilt units. Shortly after assembly I had P0264, P0270 and P0272, so I replaced #2 and #4 injector. When I went to pull the oil rail, the two screws holding the top of the #4 injector were gone and the injector was in half. Easy to say, this was this issue with that one. I am assuming #2 had a coil issue.
After assembly, I am still getting P0272 with a rough idle while cold or hot. It does seem to lessen at higher RPMs.
FICM has less than 300 miles on it. Atlas 40, Ultra mods from ficmrepair.com.
Injector harness is new.
Using AE - Injector buzz test is ok. Power balance shows number #4 with slight issues. I will post screen shots tonight. ICP is always within a few points of desired. It builds in excess of 3,600 at WOT.
I have only driven 10 miles since the assembly.
1) Can air in the system contribute to this code? Should I continue to drive around and reevaluate?
2) Should I send the FICM back to Ed for review?
3) Any other thoughts?
I recently had my injectors changed at Ford and while I was driving it started dumping coolant. If the leak can be cause from the injector replacement or if they didn't put something back together right... 2005 f 350 6.0...
View 14 RepliesI replaced the rings on all 8 injectors put in 8 new glow plugs and a relay. My truck is still putting out grey/ white smoke at start up. It goes away after about a minutes. Truck runs a little rough a first then smooths out. I know some smoke after doing a job like this is to be expected but I was thinking I t would go away by now. I've been running through my head what I might of done wrong but I can't think of anything.
Does it just need all new injectors and not just rings ?

i have a 1991 s10 2.5 liter that will not start. i have spark, and fuel to the injector but nothing from the injector. how do i determine if the injector is bad or something is not telling it to spray?
View 1 Repliesis there a way to check fuel injector to make sure they are working.
View 3 RepliesI have a 1999 Dodge Stratus in which I am having fuel injector issues with. A few weeks ago I replaced the #4 fuel injector with a new one and now the #4 fuel injector has failed again. What can cause this to happen?
View 8 RepliesI have a fuel elk coming from the fuel rail on top of an orange; what I can only assume is an injector? Fuel races out of it and puddles beneath the truck. I hate driving it cause now everything stinks like gas. I've tried pushing on it with no luck. How hard would it be to fix this issue? I'm mechanically inclined but feel this may be beyond my skills.
View 5 RepliesI worked with my buddy troubleshoot and remove a faulty fuel pump. He received it a week or so later and did the install himself. After this, he states that while pumping gas at the gas station the nozzle no longer cuts off automatically when full causing overflow. He says this has happened at different stations and different pumps. I told him to go double check connections and that everything was sealed. I am wondering what could be causing it..

So the fuel pump module on my truck is falling apart, and I figured I might as well replace it....
View 10 RepliesSo whats everyones favorite? Reason? Its been a while since I had to buy any for a gas engine.
View 14 Replies2009 Corolla XLE. 88K miles. My Corolla hadn't been driven for almost a week. This morning the car wouldn't start. Upon turning the ignition key, there was no clicking though. I tried to jump start it multiple times with no success. I thought maybe I am doing something wrong with the jump start.
Called Roadside assistance. The guy had me try to start it once and kind of figured out what was wrong. He started the car and pumped the gas at the same. The car started. He said the vehicle is fuel injected since it has been sitting at the same spot for almost a week. He suggested I should let it run for sometime. Its pretty cold here today (~35F real feel). Since this happened, I started the car multiple times throughout the day without pumping the gas and it did start without any issue.
I am pretty sure its not normal for this car as I never had to do this before. Is there something wrong with the car? Do I need to take the car to the mechanic and have it checked? What should I expect in terms of any mechanical repairs? I dont want to get stranded somewhere and would like to get it fixed.
