My father took the car to the grocery store and lost the keys. When we got the car from the dealer we only got one set of keys and proceeded to order a second set. Forgot to pick the other set and when I did the key did not worked. They (the dealer) swapped the 2 last digits from the VIN number so they had to reorder the keys. In the meantime how do I open the car. It is a 2003 Passat V6.

View 11 RepliesMy son locked my keys in the cab of the truck. To complicate things, I have the Ford upgraded alarm which disables the keypad. And the real kick in the $^%, is that I only have 1 set of keys. I'm definitely going to have a couple of more sets of keys made when I get inside, how to get inside the cab. I live way out in the boonies and really would like to avoid calling a locksmith.

View 11 RepliesOkay, my keys are locked in my trunk. I called roadside assistance and they opened the car, but the trunk won't open with the button on the dash. The seat release levers are, of course, in the trunk, so there isn't a way in the trunk. Is there a way to get into the trunk and bypass the lock systems? It's a 2013 Sonata GLS by the way.

View 3 RepliesI have a leased 2014 Toyota Corolla L, which came with two keys. The keys are chipped, but have no buttons on it - I have to insert the key into the keyhole in order to open the door.
I lost one a while ago and now lost the other one. Prior to that, I had several spares made, which allow me to open the door only (not start the engine).
Toyota dealeship told that because I lost all the master keys, I now have to get 3 keys from them and reprogram the whole car ($400 total).
A local locksmith says that he can use a spare that I have and cut a blank chipped key and program it.
I lost my all smart keys, what's my next step?
I go to lucksmith but they say I have to change the smart key Assay computer.
Locked my keys in my car. A locksmith came and instead of using the tool to unlock using the unlock button, he just pulled the regular lever inside with the tool to open the door while it was locked. Since then I cannot open the driver's side door from the inside. It will open, lock and unlock fine from the outside. It is unlocked when I attempt to open it from the inside. I pull the lever and nothing happens. I have to unroll the window and open the door using the outside handle or crawl over to exit from the passenger side door.
View 4 RepliesWell heck, the PO of the truck I just bought has lost the spare key to the ignition, and the key that opens the tailgate and unlocks the spare tire. First question, is the key to the tailgate and spare tire the same key or are they different?
Second question, is there any simple way to have new keys cut for these things?
here is my problem on a 02 passat. on the remote, the little siver hook that holds your spare keys broke off. i had a new spare remote that had never been programed. so what i did was to simply remove the blank key and replace it with the cut key. also i took out the computer chip (i guess that is what it is called) and put it in the new remote. so i have the same key with the same chip that has always worked only in a different fob. BUT when i start the car it will only run for a sec. or two then it will shut off and i will get 'imoblizer disabled' ???? everything else on the remote workes. this makes NO since to me at all and is driving me crazy.
View 3 RepliesMy 2003 Honda Accord radio will turn on while the car keys are not in the car. It's been happening for months now. If I leave the radio powered on while the car is off it will drain the battery by the time I try to start it again in the morning. If I turn the radio off before the car keys are out I can still see the radio receiving power (the clock on the display lights up).
I had a different issue about a year ago where if the radio was on it would make really loud popping noise then go silent. I could usually get it back by turning it of an on several times. I it to a car audio shop who soldered the connections in the radio and I haven't had the problem since. After this I also had an iPod/iPhone adapter installed. It seems as though the issue with the radio staying on may have started somewhere around that time.
What could be causing this? The guy at the car audio shop says that he thinks the radio is just bad and that Honda had a huge problem with radios in Accords from that year. However I don't want to spend money to put a new radio in only to have the same issue after.
I thought nothing of the ESP light when I was driving home since it just snowed another foot and it was slippery. But, just got home and when I turned the car off I noticed the displays are staying illuminated with the keys out and doors shut. Not the center info display in red the small ones to the sides .. One is the odo/km display. Are these related ? I disconnected the battery since I have to sleep and don't want to wake up to a dead battery.
View 2 Replies2003 Explorer Sport, 4X4, keyless entry. Bought the truck brand new but never had occasion to use the keys in the door and tailgate locks. Tried them this week and they did not work the locks. I first thought that the locks were frozen. Not the case. Stopped by the dealer and he suggested spraying WD40 in the locks. Didn't work. Got a new 'blank' cut by the dealer in case the key was worn, didn't work. What might be the issue? I was thinking that the wrong cylinders were put in the truck on the assembly line. I have a key fob remote and keyless entry but it would be nice if the key unlocked the doors in an emergency.
View 6 RepliesNormally when I lock the car, the red LED on the driver's door flashes quickly a few times and then flashes slowly whilst the car is locked. However, a couple of times recently I've noticed the LED is lit steady after I've locked the car.
What this means - e.g. is the car trying to tell me something isn't fully closed or something? The manual doesn't seem to cover the LED...

View 5 RepliesHad to leave my Passat in front of Target after spending hours trying to figure out how to get in the trunk from the backseat. I couldn't believe I was dumb enough to place the key in the trunk while putting all the bags in there!
Now we were able to use one of those door airbag tools to fish a wire in and get the driver door open by pulling on the door handle. The door unlock switch did nothing when pressed. Once I got the door open I thought all I had to do was press the trunk release button, but it was not popping the trunk as it always did before.
I went into the backseat to try and pull the seats down, but cannot find anyway to fold down the back seats. My friend said you can only release the latch from inside the trunk, but there has to be a way. I only have the one key and I'm sure it will cost an arm and a leg to get a new one made. How to get those back seats down?
my battery went dead on B6 all 4 doors and trunk are locked.
