View 8 Repliesi have a 2001 Passat & my ABS & Brake warning lights have come on with no other symptoms. Brakes work fine - local mechanic can find nothing wrong!!
View 2 RepliesSo I have a 1.8 5spd wagon which flooded out the comfort control module. I got another CCM but I still have a flashing oil pressure light. a flashing brake warning, a solid ABS light and an airbag light. The tach doesn't work and the MFD only occasionally works. Before I replace the ABS module I would like to eliminate anything else that might be in common with all these systems, is there a hidden fuse anywhere or a relay?
I tried unplugging the ABS module and it didn't change anything, do I need to code the CCM it has the same numbers on it but even after replacement the power windows still don't work even though the door locks, mirrors, and dome light on all but the drivers door ( I assume the micro switch is bad)work now, also the car starts.
MY friends's 2001 Passat has an issue. Brake lights work fine when the headlight switch is turned off. When she turns the headlight switch ON, her brake lights are stuck on. Left, right, and center. What could this be? Seems like maybe a fuse or brake light switch.
View 2 RepliesI found out last night that all 3 of my brake lights are out. However, my tail lights work, and my turn-signals work. So obviously its not a big wiring deal. I was looking for the brake switch but i don't know where its at because i looked underneath. What fuse is the brake lights cause my manual doesn't have it listed. I drive a 04 Elantra GLS.
View 6 RepliesThe brake lights stay on when I turn the lights on. If the light switch is off they work fine. Is this a brake switch? Or something else.....
View 3 RepliesI recently noticed that my brake lights will not go out. I thought it was the brake switch, so I replaced that, but no luck. I have not replaced any bulbs recently. I checked all fuses. I disconnected the battery to try to reset something. Nothing has worked.
View 6 RepliesMy Santa Fe is a 2004 V6, with a replacement engine. I told I am in need of a new A/C compressor but haven't been able to get it done yet.
This evening I heard a squealing noise. It suddenly stopped, and then my brake and battery lights both went on.
I'm guessing my serpentine belt went out tonight. But I also wonder if the A/C compressor is contributing to the problem?
The brake lights on my 02 Elantra won't turn off. Do I likely have a faulty brake light switch? If so, how do I replace it?
View 5 RepliesSo We just got this car from a used dealer 10 days ago!!! Already has multiple issues even though it only has 115K miles on it!
1. Brake lights will not turn off! All 3 rear lights stay fully on even with no power unless I disconnect the battery or remove the fuse. Made sure all the doors are closed and the trunk is too. Only way to keep it from killing the battery has been to take the fuse out when I park, then putting it back in when I leave, but wife usually drives it so it needs to be fixed ASAP.
2. AC blew a fuse after 3 days!! They claimed to have replaced the compressor, but I cant understand how a fuse blows on the AC. Is this normal or just a fluke?
3a. There is an on off switch next to the drivers right leg along the center panel to the left of the radio. It's a simple on off switch, but I dont see it anywhere in the manual. Is this a switch to turn on the 4WD?? I can't figure out what it is for.
3b. only the 2 right side window switches also dont work. They work with the drivers main panel. I assume its the switches in the doors that are bad and I need to replace them? Hope that will not be too much drama to find and do.
4. It has a preinstalled video dvd system. It only turns on when the engine is on, or key is in on position, but when I restart the car it has to reboot and reload! Any way to rewire it or jump the fuse / relay so it's always on standby and getting power so it doesn't do this? Which fuse is for this unit??
I have a 2002 Elantra and all of the TCM, ABS, AIR BAG and BRAKE lights come on as soon as I push the throtle and the car starts moving forward. I looked inside the owner's manual but all it says is that if all these lights come on at the same time and stay on the car needs to be taken to the dealership ASAP.
View 4 RepliesThe car is off yet the brake lights stay on.
View 6 RepliesMy wife's Passat's ABS and Brake light comes on for a few seconds, but does not stays on. If the ABS is non-operable should both lights stay on?
View 6 RepliesAfter change sparks plugs, I can quickly see battery and brakes light goes on. I can feel a lost of power when the light goes on. I've check all vacum hose and cabling and all seem to be ok.
View 1 RepliesThe battery light brake light and ac not cold all happened at the same time. The power steering & power brakes are working.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2001 Hyundai Accent. The brake light recently came on. I never use the emergency brake so I am not sure what it may mean. I wanted to know if any one know what this could be about before I take the car in to a mechanic.
View 5 RepliesI have a 99 Passat Brake lights are not working, but center strip is. Replaced bulbs & fuse Could it be switch? Is center strip on a different circuit? Check engine light came on recently and then went out.
View 30 RepliesABS light and brake light flash and beep, no pad light, then turns my asr off. From what I've read... it could be brake switch or abs module? But what about battery or alternator taking a crap?
View 24 RepliesHappened to pop into my garage tonight and notice my brake lights on my 04 GLX won't turn off. I checked to make sure I didn't leave the main lights on or anything else I can think of. The only way I could get the lights to stay of was to pull fuse 13.
View 8 RepliesOk, so my brake lights don't come on when I hit the pedal, but the instrument cluster does. I checked the fuses and they're fine.
View 1 RepliesI have replaced the brake light switch two times - still nothing going on with the brake lights. The turn signals and taillights work fine (replaced all the bulbs anyway). For what it's worth, what made me start this repair was that the third light was coming on, but not the brake lights.
That is when I went to the dealer and bought a new brake light switch. After installing that, the third light didn't work...so, I downgraded what I had to begin with, it seems. Thought maybe I had done something to break it when I installed it, which is why I bought another one. As far as I'm concerned, I followed the installation instructions meticulously, yet still nothing.
I have also pulled all the fuses in the access panel by driver's door and inspected them.
