My passat 2000, 1.8T keep running sometimes after i take the key off... No turbo timer or any modifications like that. Everything was fine. Started recently. Problem occurs only sometimes, that is why people at VW dealership can not figure it out. If it still running I hit brake, and it shuts off.. Ignition switch replaced.
View 5 RepliesGoing to take a look at a 2000 v6 passat with 130k on it. They had the car serviced at Jiffy lube and now the engine makes a loud noise after running for a minute or so. The wrong oil was used. So I'm thinking the oil pump and screen are clogged up or the oil becomes to thin when warm therefore not providing proper lubrication.

View 5 RepliesWhen I purchased my 2005 Limited 6.0l I just assumed it had the factory gears in it which are 3.73s but I noticed the other day that my speedo is pretty much bang on with the 35" tires. So, that got me to thinking maybe they've been replaced already. It runs right around 2000rpm at 70mph.
View 14 RepliesSomeone ran me into a curb and a puddle last night and my car stalled just at the end of the puddle. I pushed it and let it sit for two hours and it tried to crank but wouldn't.
This morning at 8 I cranked it and it started up and immediately shut off. It's still trying but not turning over. I've dried the plug wires, connections, and battery terminals. I even took the distributor cap off and it looked dry. I've not lost any oil since and the oil looks fine. I have a Cold Air Intake on it and removed the pipe from the engine and it looks dry as a bone. Does this sound like hudrolock? Either way what can I do next?
I have a 2000 Honda Accord Ex that began to run very rough when cold. After warming up it seemed fine. Now the car runs rough whether hot or cold. The car only has 23,000 miles on it. The cap, rotor, and wires all appear to be good.

I have major oil leak which starts leaking when the car is running, i cannot see from the top and when i am underneath the car , I cannot see far enough up in the there to see where it is leaking, It is not coming from the seneding unit or the oil pan,,when the car is running it just pours out oil.
View 3 RepliesA few weeks ago my car was running perfectly fine, i filled it up with fuel and then it started running a bit rough. Would drive ok but could feel it surging and if i backed off on the accelerator it would try stall.Also the fumes in the car were a lot stronger than usual. Got home and it stalled, started it up and was idling rough and blowing black smoke :/ no engine light has come on though. I did the typical thing and googled possibilities, the mojority said that it was the purge control valve so i replaced that with a new elantra one (part numbers were the same) and its still running rough We are now thinking it could be the oxygen sensor? Have checked vacuum lines and stuff for air leaks and cant find any. Unplugged the oxygen sensor while car was running and it made no difference at all.. If the oxygen sensor was working properly it would of affected how the car was running, right?
View 1 RepliesMy 2000 Accent 1.3 has developed a problem recently: starts fine and revs freely and smoothly when parked. When I pull away it will get very rough like it's firing on only 2 cylinders or so, at certain points during the rev range rather than continuously. Very juddery.
After a minute or so, before the engine temp is even up to normal operating temp (according to the dial) it runs perfectly. When I start it up later the same day it's fine. It only happens the first time in a day that I use it. The more days I go without driving it the worse it is.
In the last couple of years I've changed spark plugs (always in good condition when I replace them), HT leads, coil pack, a lamda sensor (the first after the exhaust downpipe) and a fuel pump and filter.
Having had bit of a disaster today (shutting keys in boot that cost me 85 quid, that's why you don't buy from people who've lost the spare key), I noticed back box mounts and back box are rusting.
Is it possible to swap the standard rear silencer for the 2005 1.3/1.5 accent with the twin outlet one for the coupe 1.6?
It looks very similar and the pipe bends look the same..? What a hissing noise is when in gear and running? Stopped it doesn't make the noise, and as soon as clutch is depressed while rolling it stops.. Had a new clutch fairly recently.
Car starts but dies after it runs less than a minute. Put new gas pump and filter and didn't work. What else can I check?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2000 LC that has a few symptoms - intermittent misfire/running rough at these times it has:
dark smoke
uses 3 times the fuel
loss of power (to normal)
will pick up revs slow without running rough and runs normal at high revs.
dies misses and then picks up revs slowly when accelerator is pushed fast to the floor from idle.
Hyundai mechanics checked computer and it coded change spark plug leads this did not fix the problem, and have no idea.
About 6 months ago the car was doing the intermittent thing when it died and liquid was heard splashing on the ground. I found the main petrol line connecting to the pump had come completely off. After replacing all problems ceased and the car ran perfect with full power etc.
I've checked the fuel lines none appear to be leaking etc.
Car dies after running about 6 miles mostly at idle 15 mins later will start back up and run for short time mostly dies at idle. I have checked converter normal temp , plugs are all white but not dark in color , fuel filter had some dirt so it was replaced, maf sensor was replaced in 2011

He replaced the catalytic converter and put every thing back together, but the car won't run. Will start, but dies right away. Took off new cat,and runs with that off, but not sure why it won't run with the cat on.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2000 Kia Sportage and the dash lights and running/parking lights are not working. The 10 Amp fuse for the tail/running lights keeps blowing. What could be causing these problems on this year, make and model car and where I should look to find and fix the problem? I am trying to find and fix these problems as fast as I can, but I am not real sure as to where to even start looking.

The past few months I've noticed a tug or miss fire at low RPM (2000 AN UNDER) the past week its gotten worse, some occasional rough idol and the missing is getting worse. Whats wrong?? Problem:The engine quits running. Idle, part throttle, moving, stopped, open or closed loop doesn't matter. Sometimes it will re-fire immediately, other times it may take a dozen or more attempts.
There is no MIL, and my TECH 2 is finding no issues.
I have a 2000 hyundai accent and when i fill with fuel it surges like its running out of fuel and stalls when fuel is gets low it runs fine.
View 2 RepliesMy wife's 2000 grand am 2.4L engine is acting really funny. this is the first problem we've had with it. i was driving it to pick up my kids from school. on the way i stopped and got some gas from the marathon then drove about 5minutes and it started running really ruff lose of power wouldn't go above 30mph seemed like the transmission took longer to shifter to.
i made it to the school as i was about 2 1/2 blocks away. got my kids check the oil and it was really low so i got 2 quarts as it was a gas station in walking distance. i thought it was a lil better but i started driving it and it had the same results. i got it home about a 10minute trip regularly and parked it.
the next day day it ran then stumbled hard. and every time i tried to start it got the same think was like a lock up. it did crank but when it tried to start it stumbled or locked up. i pulled the plugs had some wet threads oil was on the first on and the threads and around the spark plug b4 i pulled it out.
2 of the other plugs had red stuff on them not on the threads though. here are some pictures also i will show a vid of what its doing. i did a compression test and here are the numbers starting with the first one with oil on threads.
190-194-200-190+ compression test with cold engine.
Also smoked puffed up not sure from where yet..
