My 2000 Passat 1.8T is being evil again. Fuse 15 keeps blowing and I can't seem to find where the short is... however, its stuck at my work. Its a pretty big short, the fuse sparks as soon as I put the fuse near it. BIG SPARKS. Any way to start it without that fuse in?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 Accent and I'm having a problem with the brake lights not working. The tail lamps work when the night lights are turned on so it's not a bulb issue. The brake lights keep blowing the fuse. Brake lights will only work with a fresh, new fuse but only works for about a trip, give or take and then its blown.
View 1 Replies2000 Model, The fuse keeps blowing on this. I thought it was the cruise control fuse because the cruise kept not working and when I replaced fuse it would work. Only for a little though, then I looked at manual and it says the fuse is for the brake position switch. I am presuming this is just like the old days and that is the brake light switch under the dash. They use to have two wires now there is like five. Anyways I do not see any bare wires or anything that would blow a fuse, is it common for these switches to go out or what??
View 13 RepliesEvery 3 or 4 days my 2000 Camry 4Cyl Std Tranny keeps blowing out the 30A Buss Fuse in the under hood fuse box. What this fuse runs and what could be the problem. I don't think my Fan Motors are running could this cause the Fuse to pop.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2005 accent that keeps blowing the ecu 1 fuse. It is also showing a code for "system voltage low", and the battery is wet around both posts. I read somewhere else that the alternator could be surging and blowing this fuse. Had both alternator and battery checked at autozone, battery is said to be on the way out and alternator shows its fine. Battery does not show any problems, start car just fine.

View 14 RepliesSo i bought an excursion 3 or 4 days ago and yesterday I went to install a double din dvd receiver. As I was installing something shorted out and I blew the radio fuse. No big deal or so I thought. Got the radio in and replaced the fuse but then the X wouldn't start. Went through everything and found a 5 amp fuse and a 15 amp fuse blown as well. Turns out the 15 amp fuse is for starter motor or something. Well I replaced the fuses and they kept blowing. Unhooked the radio completely and still keep blowing and the X is still obviously not starting. Pulled every relay I could in hopes something would reset and nothing. Any clue what it could be at this point?
View 14 RepliesThe fuse marked #14 which controls the starter and the windows keeps burning. This first happened about 3 months ago and I took it in to a shop which charged me to check all the wires just to tell me that all the wiring was insulated properly and to let me know incase the fuse blows again to keep a spare at all times. Today it happened again and when I replaced the fuse it blew even before I could properly install it and blew 4 fuses in total.

Found the fuse and fixed it with a replacement, but its down it three times all together since then?
View 9 RepliesMy wife's 2013 Passat started blowing hot air. I checked the fuses and they are ok. I looked at the sensor switch for the AC on the passenger side of the engine compartment and it looks like the wire caught on something and frayed/cut through. I don't see where it went through to fix. Finding info on this car is a slight challenge. The owners manual doesn't even have a map of the fuse panels.

ok i have a 2000 passat v6 last nite i was removing my trunk light because it went out, after that i closed my trunk and went to park my car in the garage but wen i tried turning it on it wouldnt the headlights turn on the dashboard lights turn on but my alarm doesnt lock or unlock. My interior lights dont work either. i checked my fuses and their all fine. I tried jump starting it but that didnt do anything either what can the problem be?
View 1 RepliesI took my 2000 V6 Passat into the shop because my heater vents were blowing cold. They tested the system and told me the following:
The hoses leading to the heating core are warm, but no warm air is leaving the heater core, indicating that it's plugged up with corrosion. They testing the coolant fluid and found that the incorrect coolant had been put into the system and that the fluid was carrying an electrical charge that must be corroding the aluminum portions of the system. In addition, the engine temp sensor is kaput and never goes up.
They offered a garden hose flush the heating system for a few hundred bucks, but warned that it is only 50% successful. They recommend replacing the heating core.
FUSE 38 Keeps blowing...it controls the fans and dealer is not sure why. Coolant fan control (FC) control Module.....

View 3 Replies2007 FJ Cruiser, 4WD, 65K Miles. I replaced the 120 AMP Fuse. Starts, everything seems to work, but the 40 AMP Fuse (ABS Motor) is blown. New fuses blow as soon as I place them in. Brakes pedal has little resistance and can barely stop the vehicle at slow speeds.
What will stop the 40 amp ABS fuse from blowing?
Every time I step on the brakes, there is a bright spark in fuse #13. My brake lights, turn signals and hazards don't work. At this point my truck isn't drivable.
According to the owner's manual in my truck, says circuit #13 is for "stop lamps, CHMSL/hazard, trailer tow stop lamp, and speed control."
I'm assuming that the hazard part covers the turn signals as well, but I know the cruise control works even when the fuse is blown. I used it last night on the way home (this was before I realized I didn't have brake lights).
So I know I have a short somewhere. The only mods I've done to the lights are the aftermarket headlights, but if the fuse only gets blown when I step on the brakes, I don't see what that would have to do with it. Also, these lights have been installed and working for about a month before this started. The only thing that I did around the same time was install the gauges. I ran the power to them from #5, the customer access circuit.
Are there any other "common" areas for this to happen? I already removed the rear brake lights and it didn't work. I am quickly running out of 20A mini fuses.
Every time you engage the car in drive it blows a fuse. I have checked through the wiring but cannot see what the cause is.
View 14 RepliesI have an 87 ST. Recently the turn signal fuse keeps blowing out. This only happens when I use the right turn signal. It will cycle about 5 or 6 times then the fuse blows out. Hazards are fine, left turn signal is fine, all bulbs, contacts, and wires are fine. I'm guessing it could be either the turn signal switch itself, or the relay.
View 1 RepliesMy R32's Fuel Pump Fuse keeps blowing. This started after driving my car in a bad rainstorm. I think water may have gotten in the door which could be causing the short, but I am not sure. This car has two fuel pumps as it's been modified. I know for a fact the main fuel pump works as it did prime after replacing the fuse (then letting the car sit over night then opening the door). Right after the fuel pump primed though, the fuse blew. I decided to replace the fuse and start the car. The car started and ran for maybe a second or two before the fuse blew. I took a look at this thread in regards to the fuel pump not working as I thought the fuel pump was dead till today. I was wondering what are the possible problems that could be causing the fuse to blow? Could it be the relay? Could it be the switch in the door shorting? Also, where would I find the relay? I know it's under the dash, but is it under the panel on the passenger side or driver side?
