Passat (B5) :: 2000 - Dashboard Light Is Out

I checked the fuses and everything and searched the archived boards but no luck on this topic. I'm almost certain then that the bulb(s) for the dashboard are out. Is there any way I can circumvent going to the dealer to get them replaced? Also, if it's not the fuses or the bulbs, are there any other factors that could be causing this problem?

I changed the bulb in my driver side brake light - routine -done a zillion bulb changes on my car. This time however the dashboard lights up every time I brake!! What gives? Something to do with the brake pedal triggering the brake light button in the footwell area under the dash? Its a 2000 Passat 1.8T sedan - manual tranny.

The lights that light up the A/C controls in my '03 Accent went out. I checked all the fuses in the engine bay and inside the car and they were all fine. Since only the lights relating to the A/C controls are out, is it just a bulb? if so, how do I change the bulb? I began to take off the dashboard cover, but I didn't see any bulbs.

I have an Accent 2003 - 2 door hatchback and for a while the light stays on, on my dash that the trunk is open.. I checked the lock, and the switch, and they are all ok.
Funny thing is, when I press the brake pedal, then the light turns of. Thought I would just deal with it, but it's driving me insane, looking at that light. I had to remove the light bulb from my trunk, since it is staying on all the time, and it had drained the battery.
I found through google some wiring schematics, but doesn't look like it's 100% correct.. Are there any available for my car, or even better, what it could be? (Faulty wire?)

2000 Excursion 2WD 6.8L V-10. Dashboard brake light has come on and is staying on. Fluid is up in reservoir visual on lines and calipers appear in standard nick. Bad brake light switch?

I've been having a problem with my 2000 Alero recently where, periodically, attempting to start the car will end in the car stalling and the security light beginning to flash on the dashboard. Usually after about 10 minutes the light goes off and the car starts normally (well, insofar as feeling like it's going to shake itself apart the moment it hits idle is normal, but that's another topic for another post). This happens about 40% of the time when starting the car, and seems to be happening more and more frequently (which may be my imagination).
I took the car into the dealer (after my local mechanic told me he was familiar with the problem and wouldn't be able to fix it), and they told me I needed to replace the body control module and passlock sensor... Car info : 2000 Oldsmobile Alero~140,000 miles2.4L I-4.....

Starting a couple of days ago, I am getting the airbag fault light on the dashboard. Can't seem to explain why. I have never changed any wiring on the car, nor installed aftermarket electronics. I have the car for about a year now. At the time when the light came on, the weather outside was very cold.

I recently purchased a 2000 1.8T passat that had the engine rebuilt apprx. 16K mi. ago (didn't find out until after I bought the car). After doing an oil change, they day I brought it home, and using a synthetic (Mobil-1 5w-30) the oil light started to come on intermittently. I took it to the shop and had the oil pump replaced, and a couple of day's later it came on again. I took it back to the shop and had the oil pressure sending unit replaced and a day later it came on again. When the light comes on it only stays on for about 5 seconds and goes out. I feel like I'm chasing a ghost. The engine is not making any noise and seems to run o.k.

I have a 2000 passat 1.8t and whenever i stop at a light it vibrates really bad but never when I am driving or in park or neutral. I've taken it to every shop in town and no one can figure it out.

Here are the vitals: Passat, 2000, 1.8T, 39.000miles.
Here is the problem: Brake light will come on, flashing. ABS light on, fix. After 30/45 sec the brake light and the ABS light will turn off.( I do get the "STOP" message) The ASR/EDL warning light will remain on until I turn the engine off.
Next time I turn the car on, and after what appear to be a "drive circle" the "phenomena" repeats it self.

Alright so my mothers car is a 2000 passat 30v v6 5 speed and the check engine light will come on and off at random times. I had the codes checked yesterday and one was for the Mass air flow sensor and the other was for the "heated" oxygen sensor but what confuses me is that the light will shut off then turn back on a day later. I have to get this car through emissions for her and cant with the CEL

So I just bought a 2000 Passat v6. It's not my first VW so I do know a few things but here is my problem.
The abs light is on and the brake light is flashing and in the little display in the middle, it says brake fault stop see owners manual.
Was I told it's a abs sensor?

I'm sure that it comes to no one's surprise here that my clock on my 2001 Accent is not working properly. This seems to be a chronic problem with ALL Hyundais in the 2001-2004 era.
I have acquired a new clock, but I'm looking for some instructions on how to remove the centre dashboard on a 2001 Accent without breaking anything or accidentally disconnecting anything while removing it.
I see there are two screws in the pop out cup holder...once they are out what is the next best and safest procedure to work the dash off all the way to the top so I can replace the clock...and then get it all back together again?

I have a 2000 Passat w V6 thats in the shop at the dealers. The ABS/Brake light in the dash is coming on. The dealer says I need a new sensor in the ABS module. This sensor cost $700 plus about $400 in labor. Seems very pricey to me. My question is, could I buy a used ABS module and replace the bad one with the bad sensor myself? Where could I get a used or new ABS module at a good price? Is it hard to change out?

2000 Passat V6 2.8L ... Ran into some issues w/ the car and need some advice (and where to fix it!). The bottom line is the car is in Walnut, CA area. What's a good close by shop you would recommend? Here is the full description of the problem: A few weeks ago, this happened:
-Car started off fine
-Park the car
-When I come back in an hr, the car won't start
-The engine turns over, but there was no ignition
-After jumping the car, it started just fine
This occurred at least 2 times, and I have replaced the battery and haven't had a problem for a few weeks. Just past weekend, this started to happen:
-Car started off fine
-After driving a while (long distance,freeway), everything was fine
-Park the car, and it started it off fine
-After pulling out of the residential area, and pass a few blocks, at a red traffic light the engine just gave out and stopped
-The engine turns over but won't start
After ~40min or so when I finally gave up, just when I decided to call, then I gave it one more try and the car started just fine? After driving a few blocks, just as I pulled into the red traffic light, the engine gave out again!
This time, I called AAA for the tow. The tow guy came over, measured the battery (battery was fine), sprayed something into the engine and there was no ignition. At this point he concluded it was an ignition problem. We towed the car to the nearest shop. Right after we dropped it off, the engine was able to start!
At this point, the car shop said they won't be able to diagnose the issue since there is no check engine light and the engine seems to be running just fine. So I took the car for another spin, and after 2, 3 blocks, the engine gave out for the 3rd time.
I towed the car back (which was very close) very quickly hoping the problem persists at the shop - but weird enough, the engine started off just fine for the 3rd time.
In summary: the engine stopped 3 times at or came close at a red traffic light, it won't immediately start. after unknown condition/time, it would start just fine again.
At this time we were all dumbfounded. The car had been at the shop for 2 days now and they haven't been able to reproduce any issues.

This morning I tried to drive my 2008 Prius and the "check engine" light quickly blinked and the dashboard didn't light up. The monitor did turn on and I could hear the engine running. The monitor showed that the hybrid battery was almost full. While trying to go in reverse, the camera did not work. We just had an oil change done. The 12V battery was replaced almost 2 years ago. The car has almost 150K on it. I also tried tightening the gas cap. It's obviously winter and it snowed last night (in case that might be a factor).

Brake warning light came on. Diagnosed as bad abs module. Mechanic replaced twice. One shell sensor continues to read not turning while it is turning. Mechanic has check continuity, it's fine. Seems to have a short. He cannot find where it is and next step is ripping out much interior to track tiny wire. Will not pass state inspection with brake warning light on.
