I just bought a 98 passat sedan v6 four days ago. When I purchased it the turn signals and hazards were working. I was driving yesterday and they went out all of the sudden. Thought it was the fuse at first, changed it, still not working. I bought a turn signal flasher relay, but the repair manual doesn't tell me which one it is so I can change it.

View 3 RepliesThe right turn signal on my 1998 Ford Explorer recently stopped working. The flasher was making a horrible buzzing sound when I tried to signal right, but worked fine signaling left.
I just replaced the flasher, which has cleared up the buzzing noise when trying to signal right. The flasher clicks like it's supposed to, but the lights still do not flash.
Here's a summary of the current symptoms:
-Hazard lights work fineFlasher clicks; interior indicators flash; exterior lights flash
-Left right signal indicator works fineFlasher clicks; interior indicators flash; exterior lights flash
-Right turn signal does not work
-Flasher clicks
-Interior indicator stash off; exterior lights stay off
What to check next???
I drive a 98 Ford Contour Sport. When I was driving today, I signaled a left turn, and the signal began working erratically. This also happened with a right turn, and, since I deliver sandwiches, happened when I turned my hazards on. Throughout the day it got worse, and eventually stopped working. I'm willing to bet that it's a wiring issue since all of my fuses are fine.

View 3 RepliesI just found a nice Prius C for sale with little damage to the front right corner, no frame damage or anything, just some bodywork needed. So, after it was fixed up. I brought the car back and there is weird issue that I have - turn signals and Hazard lights dont work. When I turn it on, i can hear clicks from it, but I dont see lights blinking on the dashboard and my head/tail lights dont blink as well.

The turn signals and high beams do not work on my 1998 ford ranger xlt 4x4. I have replaced the multi function switch, the yellow flasher relay checked all fusses and all are good. What could be the problem?
View 7 RepliesI recently got a pretty cherry 98 Ranger 3.0 2wd extended cab auto. So far all it has needed was wiper blades, floor mats and a heater blend door. Last week my daughter informed me that the flashers and the turn signals stopped working. I looked for blown fuses and then took the low road and just bought a new flasher (my alldatadiy manual showed that the flasher was common to the turn signals and the hazard flashers so I took a shot at just throwing a part at it). That didn't fix it or else. Any pointers?
View 3 RepliesCar is 2000 Corolla with 58k miles. Today, I had my hazard signals on while parked when suddenly....they stopped blinking. The signal lights in the dash just stay on...they do not blink. I also verified that both front and rear lights also turns on...it just doesn't blink.

From what little I know about mechanics/electricity, can I just pull the wiper fuse and put it into the turn signal fuse while I wait for a new fuse? Do I need to disconnect the battery?

I have had an ongoing issue with my 2010 Santa Fe Limited with the battery randomly being drawn down and would not start the vehicle.
I saw a post somewhere on the internet to remove the Negative connection on the fender and grind it down to the bare metal so that it has a good ground connection.
I have done that last week, but last night before turning in for the night i looked out the window and saw lights in my driveway. I went out to investigate and found that the Santa Fe's turn signal/hazard lights were all on front and back and not flashing.
I got in the vehicle and turned the lights on and off with no keys and they all went out.
I got the schematics for the Santa Fe and i believe it could be the Hazard relay that seems to be located inside the I/P Junction box or could be the Hazard Relay Control in the BCM.
So I get to explore my first repair with this new to me car. Yesterday morning, turn signals works fine. That afternoon, the stalk apparently stopped working, which I have heard of. Interestingly though:
-the brights and cruise work
-the hazards work (my improvised indication that I'm turning )
-the stalk had been replaced once before by the PO.
Did this thing eat another stalk, or are there some other things I should check first?
I have a 2006 F250 Superduty 4x4 that the brake lights hazards and turn signals have stopped working in the rear.. The middle cab brake light does not work either.. The running lights do work as well as the turn signal and all lights in the front.. I also checked the trailer plugs and both work for running brake and signal lights.. I have checked all fuses under the hood as well under the dash with a test light and i have nothing blown.. I have replaced the Brake switch as well as the flasher module under the dash and picked up a new multifunction switch (Turn signal/hazard) and that didn't work either.. I'm stumped at this point.. I have not checked the bulbs yet but wouldn't think they would all blow at the same time.. (will do this next)..

Next thing I know I hear a pop and now no turn signals, hazards or brake lights on my 99 F250 SD V10. My 3rd (center) brake light does work though when I press the brake, it's just the tail brake lights that dont work.
I can't find a blown fuse for the turn signals or brake lights (not really sure which fuse box it's in since the manual doesn't tell me what fuse is what)
I however did find what I'm guessing are the flashers behind the radio. What might have went wrong where before I start dumping money in to flashers and relays.
The next question is, can I jump in to the marker/turn signals and add another single LED light to them off the front? If I can which color wire does what?
Recently, I lost function of brake lights, turn signals, and hazard flashers. All happened at the same time. Some threads discuss flasher relays, short steering column wiring (position of steering wheel), and fuse failures.
I checked #18 fuse and a few others. All had continuity. I assumed my bulbs were all good. My hazard push-pull switch did not feel right. There didn't seem to be engagement. At this point, there was a good chance that the multi-function column switch had failed so I decided to try replacing it. I'm happy to report that this switch was the cause of all the light function failures and now, all is well again.
Removal is done by prying the key lock switch cover off,, removing three 1" Philips head screws that attach the lower column shield to the upper shield. At that point the upper shield can be completely removed. The lower shield was not totally removed because the tilt lever was left on. The switch is attached to the column with two 3/4" Torx 20 fasteners. The upper is easily accessible and the lower fastener can be removed by pulling the lower column shield down so access can be achieved. The two wiring harnesses have a conventional harness lock to depress and the connectors pull outward from the switch. Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the dowel locator and small plastic dowel on the lower shield.

The car isnt always running while this is happening, key is not in the ignition. Car can be unlocked or locked and it still happens.
The turn signals and hazard lights on my nissan sentra are working some times and all of a sudden they stop working. The problem is occuring almost every day. What could be the problem?.
View 4 RepliesI have a 1998 Ford F150. The turn signals do not work nor the hazard flashers. When I trun on the hazard flashers(they do not come on) the turn signals will then work. Checked all fuses both under dash and in the engine compartment. With flashers turned on and using the turn signals, the relays located in engine compartment are working. It appears that the only way for the turn signals to work is to recieve power through the hazards.
View 2 RepliesWell now I have to replace the multi function switch due to moving my steering wheel and the headlights sometimes working and turning signals not working. I saw a great video on youtube about changing a Multi Function Switch and it shows where the air bag needs to be removed. I was hoping that since my truck is an older 1997 F250 LD I wouldn't have to remove the airbag. Is there a way to do this w/out messing with the airbag on the 1997?
