Passat (B5) :: 1998 - Radio Security Code Malfunction

My mother has the code to the radio, but when she was entering it she did it wrong. It now says "2 SAFE" or something similar and won't allow any other info entry. We even disconnected the power again and it still says the same thing. How do yo uget it baack to the point of allowing the 4 digit code to be entered?

My 98 blazer (130k)recently started showing code p0740 tcc circuit malfunction..
The truck runs fine (except for the water pump I just blew) this is a tranny solenoid code. but my tranny seems to be shifting ok..
Is the solenoid easy and cheap enough to replace myself? I am trying to make up my mind if its time to start thinking of trading this blazer in on something with less miles or to fix it up and keep on trucking..

I have a 98 camry with code p0755 - shift solenoid valve#2 malfunction.-What are some of the most common causes. How to test it ,the issues that cause this and what to do also after replacing it if bad? Also are these to be replaced in pairs with both 1st -2nd shift and 2nd to 3rd shift .
If I have high miles on it will adding the 2 -3 quarts of new fluid give me issues as to mixing with the old and part breaking up in transmission(I've heard a lot happens when u replace very old fluid with new or flush it fully)..will be replacing filter also but not the rest of fluid still in transmission at this time. Looking for a link a pic. of the exact location on transmission inside pan .of it(looks similar to other shift solenoid near it )...

I have a 98 camry w factory alarm and the battery died out..When i replaced it the radio didn't come on. What is the procedure to reset it? The code is on the front -16408.
After turning on I tried holding the 1 button with tune up and saw nothing on screen. The fuses are ok and the cd player eject button works(is on top of radio/cassette player). Nothing comes on screen through entire procedure.
What to try to even pull it up for entering code?

While on business travel, my wife's 2003 1.8T Passat wagon had the MIL illuminate. I had her pull the OBD2 code while I was away, and it came up with P0420. I have been reading up on it, but I have found much in the way of troubleshooting this code. I don't want to just start randomly replacing parts until the light goes away. When I get back I am going to look for exhaust leaks, but barring those what else can be looked for.

I've recently started popping up a random P2181 performance malfunction in cooling system.
It's so random and shows no signs of any other problems that I'm confused. Temp gets hot, stays exactly where it should be, 200. Never gets a tick hotter, or even close to above 200. Air works, heat works fine. No loss of power. It only seems to come on when I really put my foot down.

I have been having issues with a security malfunction in my car. Every great once in a while, most of the time when it rains, my security function in my car gets tripped and I am unable to start my car. The security light on my dash lights up and I have to wait 5-10 minutes for it to go off before I can start my car. I'm sure it's just a bad fuse but it can be very inconvenient sometimes and make me late for work! Where to even begin to look and I'm afraid if I start pulling wires that I might get locked out of my car completely.

I'm an Mk3 guy but I've gotten the hang of these beasts when I started to fix my brother's '99 B5 AEB. I got a VCDS scan from a friend and got this.
5 Faults Found:
18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low

17953 - Throttle Valve Controller: Malfunction

I'm thinking either the throttle body is toast or maybe the ECU.

I am getting to check engine codes and I can't figure out what is causing them, one is P1296 cooling system malfunction, the other is P1654 Check DTC Memory of control panel ECU, any clues as to why I'm getting these, I did have a bad thermostat i changed that and it's still on, I also used the new prestone antifreeze for all makes and models, cause I am about 200 miles away from a dealership for g12.

VW passat 1.8 tubo 20v 1998 R/reg automatic/triptonic I have a misfire/stutter when accelerating, have fault code 00529, changed plugs/maf/air filter/checked coils, cleaned throttle body, and still the car has the problem, it goes to the dealer on Saturday, I have told them I dont want the car back until this problem has been sorted.
Also been told it is the ECU for the gearbox! Picked the car up from the dealers after the oil service and inspection this is what they found. play in nsf track rod end. fault with engine control unit. fault with tci unit on top of the air cleaner?. could the tci unit be the cause of the problem that I have been getting! They also washed and vacuumed my car and left me a nice tin of mints.

I had this problem for a while. My radio is always on when I stop the engine in my 2008 Passat. But lately, the next day when I started the car the radio was sometimes off.
Well, apparently the random turn off was an indicator that my battery was slowly getting bad and not holding a full charge. Yesterday my engine light came on and when I took the car to the service department they found out that the error code was triggered by low voltage.
At the end, they changed the battery. This is the first time I am changing the battery on this car since I got it in 2008. So 5 years on single battery is pretty good I assume.

So i got a 98 passat sedan used and was told it read a p0411 code. The person at autozone told him it was a cam sensor. The sensor was replaced. I know now from the manual that codes reads for sec. Air injection system , incorrect flow. It could be the vacuum lines. Now lets say it is the vacuum lines. Their is a misfire on cylinders 1-3.

I have a 1998 1.8T Passat, Manual, with a P0422 DTC which always comes back after resetting. I don't have a Ross Tech since I own an older Mac. I have also sensed a more than usual odor from the exhaust and I have had a very noticeable loss in power at times.
The mechanic took a look at it and said that the cat was rattling and possibly partially plugging the exhaust system. He has ordered a new one for me - it will be here in couple of days. About 15 mins after I drove away from the shop (check engine light still on), I was accelerating away from the light and I felt a gentle jerk in the car and the power and acceleration and power that we all love in the 1.8T came totally back. It feels like a new car again. You really don't realize what you had missing until it comes back.
Does this make sense? Is this consistent with a the "plugging/unplugging" of an exhaust system by a bad cat? I just want to make sure the mechanic is doing the right thing.

2011 LS 460 with Nav. I have programmed abut 60 numbers into my car.
The Bluetooth seems to be working just fine, however everyday when i leave work my phone s not recognized because it has recognized another phone. Once I re-establish my phone it works fine.
I am wondering if the generic Bluetooth security code that Lexus has is allowing other phones to link to my car and then my phone disconnects. My parking lot has quite a few Lexus
I want to change the security code but wonder if I do this if I might lose my contacts I have entered
How to change code successfully on their phone and if so how did you get the phone to re-link

My 98 1.8t Passat is throwing a P1565 Idle Speed Control Throttle Position Lower Limit Not Obtained. I have cleaned the throttle body with no improvement and cleared the code many times with no luck. The car only has 114k on it car runs fine although some times will give me problems starting it ill have to sit and crank it for 40 seconds or more and also will idle on rear occasions 1300 vut normally between 850 and 900.

My radio displays the word "Safe" when the car starts and will not work. I am guessing that the electric system failed at some point and I now have to put a code in the radio to get it to work. My question is: exactly what buttons do I push to do this?
