Nissan :: Alarm Going Off After Connected To Charger
Feb 18, 2015
The van's battery died all the way.
I went to jump it off and as soon as I connected the charger it's loud and annoying alarm started going off.
I tried pressing the Disarm button and the Arm button, nothing happened.
What do I do?

Working on a 2001 caravan. Been sitting for about 6 months with no battery installed. decided to work on it. Got a new battery, and when I connected it the alarm went off. I dont have panic button for it so I unhooked the bat.
I think I hooked the bat back up with the thicker gray key in the ignition. I think that is the key with the chip.
The alarm did not sound but the engine will not crank, seems like it it in some security mode blocking start up. I tried cycling the key in the driver door but that did not work.

How to stop my Pathfinder from randomly spouting it's alarm? Happens about once a day, I think it only happens when the car is locked but not quite sure.

I have a 2005 Nissan Quest. Last night while driving around 45mph I heard what sounded like water being spilled on the passenger seat next to me. There was no water. A few minutes later a loud alarm sounded for a minute or two, also focused on the passenger side of the van. Then silence, followed by the water sound again, but that soon stopped and I did not hear the blaring alarm again. The car's performance remained unchanged.

New 2015 Mercedes E350 wagon ..... The day after I took delivery, I tried to open the new wagon's doors (it has a keyless feature) and nothing happened. I tried again and still nothing happened. I then took the smartkey out of my pocket and tried to click open the locks and nothing happened. I then took the ancillary key out of the smartkey and unlocked the car manually. This set off the alarm which would only stop when I closed the door and relocked the car.
Also, the car would not start. It was like I had broken in to the car. A few minutes later, while waiting for roadside assistance to speak with me, I tried the door handle again and discovered that the doors would now open keylessly. I have driven the car several times since the incident (which occurred yesterday) and it has not repeated the problem. What caused the problem? Is this a one time glitch or am I in danger of being stranded somewhere?

So I had my hood open to check my oil, not a big deal for a 2001 Jetta 1.8t. When I shut the hood, the car decided to simultaneously lock, and now the horn/alarm is going off and the key fob won't unlock the car or disable the alarm. And the keys don't work in the door/trunk so I can't get inside. What I should do?

How good the alarm on a B6 is. I mean, it goes off when the doors are opened and the alarm is on...but how easy is it to steal a Passat.
I wanna put a navi in and do a few things...but I just don't feel ok doing them and knowing I don't have a GREAT alarm.

I have a 2006 Charger R/T. My car used to not start (even thought the battery, starter, and alternator was good). I had it fixed, and the problem seemed to be electrical. However after that, it would always start, but would go into "limp mode". I let it sit for two days, and the limp mode disappeared. However, it will only start on occasion. It won't start after about 30 mins after use. It won't start for a few hours. All electrics work fine, it just won't even attempt to crank. Try to start it later, it will work fine. Even though the check engine light was NOT on, I was able to pull three codes out of it: U0100, U0103, P0700. I did have to replace the notorious "pink thingy", but everything (should be) connected fine.

Have a problem with their front 12V charger not working? Could this be a fuse issue? I couldn't find the specific fuse location in the manual for the front charger.

I've been wanting to get a wireless Qi charger for my Samsung Galaxy S5 and have thought of a few options:
1. Have somebody custom wire a Micro USB into my glove box.
2. Put it into my center console (no custom install needed).
What about the phone moving around when the car is in motion? Other pros and cons?

By hooking it directly to the battery, putting the solar panel in the sun to keep it fully charged? It's 1.5 watts. 12 volts. It has a built in over charge protection.

I found a decent deal on a 2nd gen prius. But I am going to need to repair the battery. I have already known that I can test and only repair the needed cells (since I looked into the situation when I was buying mine a year ago). Looking at the forums and saw there were a couple of chargers being recommended by the users; such as the supermate DC6 or the Hitec 44151 Quad X4.
I will likely want to charge 8 cells at time at least, as I would ideally like to get the car fixed in a couple of weeks.

QI charger cutting out after a minute or so? I use QI charger at work and my phone works fine with it (Nexus 4), and when I put it in the car there is a little whirr sound and the orange light comes on and all is good. However after a minute or so the orange light starts flashing and the charging has stopped - even though the phone is definitely not fully charged (can have hardly any battery left). I had a "bumper" case on the phone and took that off just in case it was raising the phone slightly, but it doesn't seem to have made a lot of difference.

I bought a BatteryMinder Model 2012 charger. This is a low-amperage temperature-compensating multi-stage charger/maintainer/desulfator that is supposed to avoid the wear and tear that lesser chargers inflict on batteries in long-term storage.
The charger comes with a 2-foot cable section with a terminal connection on one end and a capped plug on the other. I like the idea of an easy disconnect so I don't have to get under the hood each time I want to take the car out for a jaunt. My first thought was to run the cable and plug to the grill area of the car, except there's no easy way to do this without the plug showing. Also, the permanently-attached cable is only 2-feet long.
So I'm wondering about the windshield wiper tray, passing from the battery over the hood's rubber seal:
I attached a photo, showing where the charger cable might run. I can't see any conflict with the wiper or other functions. Am I missing anything?
The charger itself would be screwed to the garage wall.
Also, how about using a charger/maintainer with a cover over the car? This charger should not be pushing the battery and causing any water loss. So, I'm thinking that destructive gases should not be a problem. Again, am I missing something?

Finally got around to installing my new Hybrid battery charger from Hybrid Automotive in my 2007. Pretty easy & straight forward wiring install.
After installation I did the first test just hook up the charger to its dongle and no interlock and it looks ok shows 250 volts and 0 amps on there charger display but I have no battery fan. The fan is on in the charger but no hybrid battery fan..
No 12 volts from there charger to there fan control box input.
Install directions say all the fans should be running from the get go. Then I installed the interlock to see if it will charge and it does. Shows 222 volts and .337 Ma's which is correct but still no battery fan. No 12 volts form the charger.

So I tried using a faulty cellphone charger in one of my charging ports. I heard a loud click and now my car is not starting. So, the first thing I looked at was the fuse for the start and engine, thinking they may have been blown, but that was not the case.... Where do I go from here?
