I have a 1990 Mitsubishi Mighty Max that squeaks like you're opening a screen door whenever it goes over bumps. Is this just because the old or do I need to get it to a shop to fix something?

View 17 RepliesLooks like my struts and springs are getting old that they're making squeaky noises over the bumps. Had a shop checked to make sure and they suggested replacing them. I've been wanting to do air ride but not a lot of good shops in town have done that before. So far by searching, most complete kits run around $4k or so without installation. Is that about right? How complicate is it to do the installation?
My second option was to purchase coilovers and put them in myself. Cheap and easy. But again, there are 4-5 brands out there? Megan, D2, BC, K-Sport, etc? I want it mildly lowered and not too bouncy. What spring rates should I get?
So I have an 06 Sonata with 56k miles on it. A few months back it started squeaking by the struts. It got worse last month and was pretty loud when going over speed bumps. Especially in the mornings
During my research on replacing them I came across a you tube video of a guy using AT-205 resealer to fix the squeak. Of course I bought some and was about to try it out but noticed that there was a lot of dirt and grime around the struts and other rubber mounts.
I decided before using the AT-205 I should clean everything first. Took some degreaser and sprayed everything I could see, including any other rubber mounts in the area. Rinsed thoroughly with water. Let it dry overnight and before applying the AT-205 decided to see if there was any change. To my surprise, there is no more squeaking. (It has only been 2 days though).
Hopefully it will not come back otherwise will use the AT-205 and failing that, will have to take the plunge and replace the struts.
I have a Gs 430 - 2006. After hitting bumps in the highway big or small it seems like my dash or suspension squeaks inside the car. Since I can hear it so clearly I'm leaning towards its the dash or something behind the dash, It seems to be coming from the drivers side.What could it be?

View 1 RepliesMy '12 Tig SEL is approximately 6 months old and I've started to notice some squeaky brake noises this week. Just under 10k miles at this point, the vast majority of those just regular commuting to/from work. No rally racing antics on my end, I swear. We have been in the midst of a killer heatwave on the East Coast though...I wonder if the heat could be a partial culprit?

View 4 RepliesI have 2011 SE (2.4L) that has a VERY noisy squeak that increases with the climate control's blower speed. The noise stops completely if the fan speed is set to OFF. It has been rectified twice by the dealer, who said they just vacuumed it out or something, that there was leaves/trash somewhere causing this. I don't even park near trees or anything! Anyway, my car is now out of warranty, how can i do this myself?

View 6 RepliesThis is about a 2000 gmc sierrra 2500 truck I purchased with 194k a few years ago. It now has 232k. Whenever I go from a complete stop, the noise sounds as if it comes from the rear area. It sort of has a sliding umph noise, as if a slide hammer is going from front to back with a resounding stop as I move forward. I have checked the driveline, the rearend, the bed attaching bolts, and most everything in the rear section for tightness.
I had the bed loaded heavily once and it seemed to not make the noise. When I tow a boat or tow nothing it makes this noise with a sort of bang or stopping sensation at the end like the slide of something that then stops. Who wants to ride under my truck for a diagnosis? Could it be in the transmission? ha, it could be anything we all know that !
I am getting an irritating squeaky sound when driving around and I have targeted the sound to be coming from the rear side interior panels on the passenger side. I discovered the sound while sitting in the far back 3rd row bench while someone drove me and ran over reflectors on the road (this is one way I could find to recreate the sound) and if you push a lil bit against the "pillar" area on those side interior panels at the rear you can easily hear it but when driving it becomes quite a bit annoying. I have thought about taking out both the lower and upper portions of the panels and maybe trying to dampen it a little by putting some electric tape in certain areas and areas that come to contact with the other panel.

View 3 RepliesI have noticed what I can best describe as a squeaky noise that appears to be coming from the rear of the vehicle. At first I thought it was the breaks, (as most of the time when I left off the breaks after being stopped I hear the noise), but I also notice the noise while turning and also when getting into my car to sit in the seat (Or pushing down on the rear of the car). Almost sounds like something in the suspension needs to be lubricated (a bushing perhaps)?

View 36 RepliesI recently had an oil change at a new shop. While I was there, they said I needed to get a power steering and brake fluid flush and recommended a fuel induction service. I have a 2003 Honda Accord with about 107,000 miles on it. The car runs fine, I have no problems. Occasionally, when I hit the brakes, there is a high pitched squeak.
I've been doing research and getting mixed results on if these services are necessary. What could be the cause of the brake noise?
I have 2002 BMW 325xi (all wheel drive). For about 2-3 months now there is a squeaky noise coming from passenger side front wheel. It sounds like a really bad and rusty coil spring but the weird part is that that noise only appears in warm weather. It has nothing to do with how much distance I drive. If it is 70 odd degrees or warmer outside, the noise starts. In warm weather, the car does not have to be running/moving to hear the noise. I can just push down the passenger side front and hear the noise. I took to a mechanic and he wants me to replace tie rods, control arm and struts. basically the whole suspension system on the front for this noise (in other words, he does not know what exactly is making the noise, so replace everything)
View 5 RepliesMy 2006 santa fe drives great,,,except now it makes a low squeaky noise when parking and turning the steering left or right...it does not make that noise while driving at any speed in a line or on bumps...the strut top plates? can i just grease that?
