The squeal is loud almost every time I brake early in the a.m. usually.I've taken it in to the Dealership - but by the time I got there at 9-10 am - the sound stopped.They did not have any explanation or answer to stop this.
View 5 Replies2004 TB EXT. Replaced pads on all 4, installed new hardware kits front & rear, the anti-rattle clips even had the deluxe black coating on the back (mounting) surface to reduce noise. Occasionally squeaks under light braking at low speeds, such as approaching a stop. About 1 out of 4 stops it does this. Semi-Metallic pads. Irritating noise. Never had this happen before, put same brand & style of pads on my truck, no noise.
View 6 RepliesMy front driver's side tire squeaks like an old mattress when I drive, especially over any bumps or when turning. Could this be caused by a cracked wheel rim? I got new tires and had them rotated/balanced about 3 months ago. The squeaking started right before this so I asked the tire place to check it out, but they said they didn't see anything. The squeaking has become increasingly more annoying since then. Note: I also got new struts about 6 mos ago and then drove my car across country. Since then I have driven quite a bit in the city which involves very bad pot holes.
View 1 RepliesI have a 1995 Mazda Truck, B2300 series that is a 4 wheel drive. Recently I had the front brakes replaced, new clay disc brakes. Not so long after that I started to hear a noise as I was braking as well as squeaking. I thought, of course it had something to do with the new brakes. The sound happened occasionally at first and now is every time I brake.
I can hear it as I'm coming to a stop, sounding like it's coming from the rear. It's a rubbing type noise, like a wa, wa, wa, wa that happens until I have stopped. After 2 mechanics I now have a $700 estimate to replace the u-joint, and they aren't even sure if that will fix it.
The front brakes are new. The rear drums have been replaced and machined to fit properly (they thought that was the issue). Is this common or something that I have to fix every such and such miles?
I just purchased 2007 XLE V6. I love the car but there are annoying squeaks from the dashboard. How to stop the squeaks?
View 5 RepliesThe bolts or screws on the inside front of the doors may need to be retightened. Mine have loosened over time. Just wondering if this maybe a possible cause of rattles or squeaks in the doors others here have experienced. My door shell appeared to be sticking out a bit and it could be pressed in, so I fished around for a cause and fixed it.

View 20 RepliesI have a '99 Passat 4 door sedan, 1.8t and have started to notice some serious groans and squeaks in the front end. I can get it to squeak in the garage just by pushing up and down on the front end, and by turning the wheel while stationary.
The car's 10 years old and I expect some back talk but, I'm wondering what I can lube on the front end. I took a look last weekend and the cv boots are fine, there's nothing leaking out of the car and no real ugly surprises under the hood.
My cursory peek inside the wheel wells didn't turn up any grease fittings, although I'm guessing there have to be a few. I can, almost fondly, remember all the zirc fittings on my '67 beetle and am wondering if there are any easy solutions to my squeaking/groaning problem.

View 7 RepliesI have been cruising vortex for the last month and finally pulled the trigger on a low mileage Red R32. I am quite excited and love driving the car around.
First, when my sunroof is fully open there is a great deal of reverberation at speeds of 30mph plus. In fact you can feel the whole headliner vibrate. However, if I push the sunroof wind deflector down just a small amount everything is just fine. Is there some adjustment to that wind deflector?
Second, when I test drove the car at first the car started up normally with no unusual noises, but since I actually purchased the car, the car makes several squeaks while the motor is turning over. The dealer tells me this is normal. I took the car in because of the squeak and they found a bad water pump bearing cause they heard some other noises with the engine idling, but that the squeak upon startup is normal operation. That doesn't make sense to me.
How is your 2012 Camry holding up as far as interior rattles and squeaks go?
View 14 RepliesA little background: My 2015 DSG is just shy of 40k miles. I have recently the DSG fluid hoping it would fix my issue. I also have a DSG tune, but the problem has been around well before the tune.
So here's the intermittent issue.
When I leave a corner or from a stop, the DSG tries racing toward 6th as quick as it can and even with my pedal beyond the 50% margin. When it does and my window is down, I can hear a slight squeak when it shifts, and you can feel the hard engagement of the gear. What the issue could be or what could be causing the squeak? I also get a slight vibration under WOT in 5th and 6th at low RPM's. I am thinking its either the mechatronics unit or the clutch packs that are prematurely wearing out.

I have a rattle from the rear driver's side, a vibration from the passenger-side dashboard and a squeak in or near the front passenger seat. I feel like I'm losing my mind!
I drive a 2006 Hyundai Sonata 4 cylinder (2.4) that has about 81,500 miles on it. Recently, I notice front-end squeaks when turning either hard left or right while traveling 10-15 mph or more. There are no squeaks on straight-away driving. The squeaks are not loud - more like muffled squeaks - and occur 1-3 times per occurrence. I asked several people at auto parts stores. Most tell me that it is likely my tie-rod ends which have no grease fittings. One or two people have mentioned CV joints but I discount this as there is no damage to the boots and I do not get the tell-tale clicking noise on turns.
View 2 RepliesThe wife's had her 05 for about two weeks now, and while riding in it the other day, I noticed that the brake pedal now squeaks like a SOB. I know it's a simple fix.
Also, is there any way to VAG the rear hatch, so you don't have to constantly use the door switch or fob to unlock the hatch, even when the doors are unlocked? And, is the any way to change the brightness of the overhead compass screen? At night, unless I lean over, I can't read it from the driver's seat. Those are my only rants thus far, which are nearly nonexistent. PS - got the hitch put on and pulled for the first time last weekend. Nothing but good things to say.

View 11 RepliesI have an 04 Saturn Ion redline that just recently started sweeping from the front driver side when I turn left. It doesn't happen all the time normally in warm to cool weather, and when I'm turning slower ( around 10-20 mph ). I know it's not the brakes or the rotors as I have just replaced them this week. And my drive axle boot looks okay. What the problem might be? I'm not a master mechanic but I have done some things just as need be so technical advice won't confuse me.
