Lumina :: Identifying A Tube / Hose?
Oct 8, 2014
There is a tube/hose going from the air intake duct to the rocker arm cover.
I need to replace it but don't know what it's called to look it up.

I was examining EGR valve and found a huge crack on a tube that stems out from the head of the EGR valve and goes into the EGR vacuum controller. I need to find out what this tube with steel core is called so that I could order new one at a dealer. Or can I get this from Autozone or Pepboys too?

I have a 2006 Camry 4 cylinder. The bigger rubber hose coming out from the power steering fluid reservoir has been leaking for quite some time now. I've tried putting a second clamp on it which has worked but hasn't stopped the leak completely. As far as I understand, the big hose has a certain bend to it so I can't just get any rubber hose from an auto parts store and chug it in.
It is leaking all over the nearby surface:
I need to identify the part number for that power steering rubber hose so that I can replace it once and for all. Once the power steering fluid leaks out, my steering starts groaning whenever I turn it.
I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 6.0 Ltr C2500 Auto tran Large Gas tank 120,000 miles. My gas tank filler tube vent hose has come off of its attaching point. It is still connected to the filler tube. I can not see where it connects on the other end. The small hose is long enough to reach the rear bumper on my truck noticed it hanging over the differential on the ground. Where to reconnect it to. I do have a check engine light showing. I fear my truck is falling apart slowly.
View 2 RepliesHow to get the boot or hose off the egr delete tube without having to tear everything apart? mines leaking i have new hose to replace just not sure how to get the old one off...

View 1 Repliesscavenged this awesome Lexus Headlamp whilest scrappin with gahbage in a junk pile clean up job The problem is.. I cant identify it. I googled just about every 'model' number on the back.. no go.
Looks like the 2005-2009 ES 450 Headlamps on ebay,( except its got a light tan color on the back) and different shape that leaves it resembling something Matel might have molded esecial up for a Milenium Falcon Lifesize model Redux, (minus Harrison Ford in a speedo).where to pull a number off this thing?
Yesterday I came home for 20 minute stop. I parked with my front end sticking out of the garage.. Big Mistake! My 10 year old daughter sees the garage open and hits the button to close the garage door and walks away. Worst part is! I could hear the door closing from inside the house and could not get outside fast enough!
I've spent the last 24hrs trying to find replacement parts on the net and all I have obtained is more confusion. Is it all one assembly or am I looking for multiple part numbers??
a co-worker brought over a 2000 chevy S-10 v6 automatic 4x4 with a leaking/broken dipstick tube. he bought the new tube/gasket & 6 quarts of auto fluid, and i told him to get a trans filter & gasket since I may need to remove the pan to get the old end of the dipstick tube out.
I was able to get it all out, and get the new tube in fishing it around the rear of the block for a few minutes. I got everything all seated up the tube had to be tapped in with a rubber mallet from the topside.
I checked the tube & seemed to have a nice seal. I replaced the mount bolt, put the filter & pan back on. filled it up & started up the truck.. rowed through the gears. seemed just fine until I looked under the truck. Almost all the ATF I had put in, on the floor.
I attempted to pull the tube & tried to put a little red RTV on the sealing grommet, on the outside & inside. I cleaned the tube & all other surfaces. same results...
how to adapt the tube to a compression fitting that bolts in to the trans .750 hole...
Was servicing my vehicle today and this tube snapped in half. Called ford, dont have it since its an 'obsolete' legacy part.
Tried 1aauto, rock auto, both dont have it.
Am I out of luck? is there an alternative? can I just use a rubber hose instead to connect the pcv valve to the other end part?
I've notice a milky substance on my oil cap and inside the tube where you add the oil, what can be causing this. 2001 Silverado 5.3.
View 4 RepliesI have the above passat with the AWM motor. There is signs of moisture in the dipstick tube, but not on the oil fill cap. Now today the plastic dipstick funnel snapped due to being frozen to the dipstick.
Now the dipstick had what looks like lithium grease on it. The car has been slowely loosing coolant. But exhaust is clear, no signs of steam or coolant burning through exhaust.
But if the lithium grease like substance on the dipstick was a oil/coolant mix WHY did it freeze . I use a 50/50 mix of pentofrost SF. According to their lable should be good down to below zero. It has not gotten that cold here yet, even at night.
Why or how I could be getting moisture into the motor? And why is it only visible on/in the dipstick funnel and nowhere else.
I have a 2010 camry se 2.5l (2ar-fe). I replaced spark plugs and found oil in #4. It was on plug not in cylinder. There is a little oil at bottom of spark plug tube. My guess is there is a gasket/seal at bottom of spark plug tube. Am I correct? How to replace?
View 3 RepliesI was checking the oil this morning before getting ready to drive (for an hour) to the in-laws for Christmas, and the Effing orange plastic dipstick tube broke about halfway down. Now I'm afraid to drive for an hour at highway speeds, for fear that a lot of oil might come out of that compromised Effing orange plastic dipstick tube part -- would you all agree that I should not drive the car? Figures this would happen on Christmas Eve when nothing is open.

Effing orange plastic dipstick tube!
My car turns very rough and then turns off as soon as I let go of the key... won't hold an idle...
Checked the MAP sensor and when I tried to pull it from the hose the tube was very brittle and broke...
I put in a new MAP Sensor and checked for bad hoses... Still can't get the car to start!
I have changed the compressor for my lumina LTZ 2001... After that a noisy sound start to appear ... And cooling stopped after a while((around a week)) they told me to change the heater core. And I changed it.After that similar sound start to appear again ... And the cooling start to be reduced gradually ...and then no more cold air..The sound appears infront of the next to driver seat.
View 5 RepliesNeed to check a rear brake tomorrow. I looked around the side of the car and there doesn't appear to be a flat spot for a floor jack. There is an area that looks bent like someone used a floor jack there but not sure it is the right place to lift. I have the factory manuals and they don't point to the locations either.
View 1 Replies1st gen lumina. I want to replace everything on my passenger seatbelt. It hangs loose and doesn't fully retract. I've had the door apart and had the lower part (inside the door) off of the door to remove a coin that was jammed in the mechanism once, but I never could figure out how to remove the top part of the seatbelt (up at the top of the door by the window) It's got a black plastic piece that looks like it could come apart but I've yet to figure out how.
View 1 RepliesThis light comes on and have checked fluid levels and all is OK. Where can I disconnect this sucker?
View 1 RepliesI recently replaced a broken brake line on a 99 lumina .I have good brakes and pedal, the fluid level is good, But the BRAKE light (Not abs light) will not go off in the dash.I bled the brakes using the pedal,I dont have any other method. The master cylinder was empty for 8-10 hrs.I'd hate to have to replace the master cylinder instead of something simple and cheaper to get the light to go off.I made sure the parking brake was released also. Not sure if ABS has something to do with it.
