1) Where to find a driver's lower fuse panel in cabin fuse cover/kick space left side, near brake?
2) I have a slight intermittent magic fingers kind of idle. I changed spark plugs, no diff, have been using Techron, timing belt replaced, etc.
I took my car to a mechanic the other day to get the spark plugs change. Then I notice when I turn my car on my seats starts to vibrate when in idle. Is this normal cuz the mechanic says this is normal and that every car vibrates just a little. I read some where it could be the mounts but someone on here told me they not because it doesn't shake my seats just vibrates if I seat there I can feel the seats vibrating on and off its not crazy bad vibrate. It's a minor vibration. I was hoping for no vibration what so ever like sitting in on my leather couch in my living room. Mine is a old model 2002.

View 11 RepliesI guess the roof needs adjustment since my driver side door won't close if the window is up all the way.
Checked the roof and found there is a larger gap on the passenger side than on the driver side. That causes the unevenness of the roof, I think.
Reviving my car after long months of long winter storage and I cannot get the door unlocked. I know the battery is dead so the remote won't work, but I cannot even unlock the door with the key, twisting it back and forth and nothing happens. I am just trying to get under the hood so i can jump the car, but no way to unlock the door. It is a 2002 SC430 , is the key supposed to work ? Or does the car need battery for the key to twist and unlock the door?

A locksmith came and instead of using the tool to unlock using the unlock button, he just pulled the regular lever inside with the tool to open the door while it was locked. Since then I cannot open the driver's side door from the inside. It will open, lock and unlock fine from the outside. It is unlocked when I attempt to open it from the inside. I pull the lever and nothing happens. I have to unroll the window and open the door using the outside handle or crawl over to exit from the passenger side door.

Fuse 19 on Passenger Box: Interior light, personal lights, vanity lights, foot lights, ignition switch light, trunk light, antenna, garage door opener system audio system.
Each time I install a new fuse, it immediately pops. Wondering how to diagnose root cause. Often it seems that wires ran through door grommet can become exposed....I have done no modifications to the vehicle. Not sure if there is a particular area I should start looking for exposed wires, I have a feeling it is going to be a long process with my skill level to find the short.
I just purchased my 2003 sc it has 78000 miles on it and I am not sure if im running rf's in the rear and non rf's in the front. I know the ones in the rear are very different looking they are s800 bct's , and the front they are continentals. Anyway how can i tell between a run flat tire and a non run flat tire??
Do they look different in appearance? All i know is that sucker vibrates damn good at around 55-68 mph. should i get a wheel balance?There is no spare in the trunk and the tires look brand new.
Car has this vibration for the first mile or so. After that it smooths out to nothing. don't hear anything on corners, no metal on metal ( I know they are pressed in bearings sealed).
New rubber, fresh alignment, balanced wheels. Anyway, I can't tell what wheel it is coming from. What would cause a good vibration for a short period of time? Is this the start of wheel bearings? If so, how do you figure out what corner?
I have 2002 SC430 with an annoying vibration through the seat/chassis at 60mph but she's smooth at 55 and slower and at 65+ mph ? Things I have tried so far ...
wheel balance
wheel alignment
2 rims rerolled that were out of round
bushes and suspension all checked
moved wheel positions front to back etc
Thinking now maybe driveshaft or uni joints ? or new tires but that's an expensive exercise !!
My driver side door has not been working for about a month now. It started gradually opening after a million tried but now it just wont open. Tonight one of my lamps stopped working when I was trying to install HID's. I suspect the fuse is burned out but cant get to it cause the door wont open. How can I get my door open. Need headlights as I get out of work late night and dont want to get pulled over for a headlamp being out.

View 1 Repliesgot in the truck tonight and she is blowing nothing but cold out the drivers side but the passenger side works as advertised for temp settings. I have been trying to see if there is a self test mode like the earlier year trucks have to see if there is a code. She is dual zone climate/digital so its an EATC if I am not mistaken. I have tried power cycle, pulled and re-installed climate fuse after inspecting. Tried some of the earlier year self test button combinations to no avail. I did notice if I hit defrost a few times after hitting the power and defrost that the temps would go all 00 but I don't know if that is what I am looking for. I probably know my answer which includes tearing out the dash but how to proceed. Bought her with an aftermarket power train warranty so electronics are off the table for warranty. I know the stealership will charge out the rear to fix it too. All signs so far point to a blend door which is not good at all.
View 14 RepliesI have noticed that when pressing on the brakes at 50 MPH and higher my steering wheel starts vibrating and it feels like the car is being tugged a little to the left. This started a couple of weeks ago, what might be causing this?

1. My 2002 SC430 with 23,000 miles on it is making a low rubbing noise when slowing down, with a slight vibration, not severe enough, but it is annoying and frankly surprising on this car. The dealer tells me it's because the brakes have "glaze" on them, and short of a new brake job, you can jam on the brakes to clear or loosen some of this and reduce the noise. ( I live in the desert so I'm sure I could find a deserted stretch or road for this craziness...) The dealer reports the brakes have 70 - 80 percent life on them and I don't need a brake job.
2. Power steering. I thought this particular car was just hard to steer, but even the tech at the dealer commented it's like I have no power steering. I test drove two other cars, and the steering is markedly lighter on the other two SC430's I drove. (2002 and 2005) Dealer can't seem to find an explanation, but I have to drive this car with two hands around town... I know this is not the way this car was intended to feel.
I don't believe the car changed that much from the 2002 model so as to affect the steering. BTW, I'm using stock tires, not run flat, 4 months old. And the steering is stiff at idle anyway, regardless of tires. The first SC I drove, which sealed the decision to buy one, was so quiet I didn't know the engine was running, easy to steer, and smooth.
I recently noticed the cover for my driver-side door lock seemed was loose and the door lock would move around a bit. Today, to my utter shock, I noticed the door lock cover was missing and it looks like I cannot see the door lock cylinder, worried that it is missing too!
Is it possible for the door lock cylinder to easily fall out of the door if the cover was loose?
I am hoping that the door lock cylinder is somehow physically connected to the door and wouldn't just fall out, perhaps it fell inside the door and I cannot see it. I haven't had a professional look at it yet, but if I am missing the door lock cylinder then I would need to purchase a new lock cylinder and have it cut to match my keys (huge spend, even with Sewell).
The images show what I am referring to, the dark image is an attempt to take a picture of the inside of the hole. The last image is a drawing of the door frame from Sewell with part numbers. Is there a chance the door lock cylinder is somewhere inside the door panel?
One thing I cant clear is how to fix the annoying door clicking. The one bolt behind plastic cover on body side isn't a torx 40 its a bolt/philips and its tight. My 2 bolts on door side dont seem to be getting tight. The doors still clik seems to be in join in middle of door arm.

Was replacing 168 bulbs tonight with led bulbs. Trunk went fine. I got a warm color that's a little whiter than stock and about twice as bright but 1/5th the power. I measured 49 ma vs 247 ma for the stock bulb. Then I went to replace the passenger door bulb. Put the led one in and it flickered on and off a few times and then went out. Figured it was a flaky loose connection. Check the contact and put the old bulb back in. Nothing. Checked the voltage at the connector. Nothing there either.
The fuse that controls that bulb has a bunch of other stuff on the same fuse which all still works, so unless there's a hidden fuse inside the door, then there's a wiring problem that just magically appeared now. I don't think there's a fancy controller. This light doesn't fade up or down and is not on a timer. It's directly controlled by the door switch and is instant on or off.
Our car was rear-ended (we had a great shop to the repairs and the car drives/looks like it did pre-accident). However, the navigation door magically stopped working now that we have the car back. The navigation screen still works fine, but the open/cose buttons will not make the door/lid open.
On other threads I have searched here, people have suggested this could be from the door being off-track (not the case here), a broken motor (could be the case), and/or a blown fuse (also could be the case).
What fuse I would need to check if it is in fact a fuse? I've looked at the fuse boxes in the engine bay (by the battery) and in the trunk, but all fuses look fine. Is there anywhere else I should look for a fuse before wasting a day at the dealer to diagnose/fix the problem?
