New owner for a 2002 SC, Made mistake when lowering top to hit trunk button, top has stopped half open half closed Light on lose button is solid red and if pushed blinks red but nothing happens.
View 14 RepliesThe temperature gauge continues to go above the half way mark. Yesterday it was 88 here and I ran the a.c.. The gauge got a little over the second white mark from the top. I don't know if this is normal, I have taken it to a mechanic twice and he said I had nothing to worry about.
I am just used to the gauge staying right in the middle, and this one does not do that. The fan that cools the engine is almost always on as well. This is another thing that leads me to think there is a problem.
Would you mind telling me if your 430 gauge moves around like mine? I have to get something done before I hurt the engine?
Top of the back door is hitting the garage while opening inside the garage and getting all scratches, Is it possible to open it only 1/2 way as I can see that option in other SUV's but can't find any setting in the manual. Is it possible to do on 2013 RX 350?

View 5 RepliesWhen I turn the dial on my sunroof control just a click or two, the roof opens to a little more than half open. Basically, the roof has maybe 3 positions between 1/2 and all the way open despite the multitude of click positions on the dial. It's nowhere near precise. I'd like to be able to open it just a little sometimes (not tilt, open).
Is this just the way it is or will my VW dealer be able to adjust something?
I went to open the door that holds the nav controls and it open half way then stops. I pulled as hard as I dared to without breaking it.
View 2 RepliesWe just used the car last night. Hard to believe the battery is the issue. The key won't go in the trunk either. All the locks will not work with they key.
Remote wont open doors (it flashes green so battery is fine) and key only goes half way in. Locked out!
We were borrowing my brother-in-law's 2006 Jetta and the day after a snow storm, the windshield wipers stopped working. They came up half way and then stopped and don't move further. You can hear a whirring noise,like something is trying to go, but no movement. We've been quoted $500-600 to replace the windshield wipers and motor, but we don't think they need to be replaced, just repaired.
View 6 RepliesPulled up to subway today and hit the switch to put the window down for my order. paid the lady got my order hit the switch but the window went half way up and stopped! drove off and tried to make it go down or up, nothing! tried again in a couple of minutes then it went up. I haven't done anything since. Am I looking at a huge repair? Never had a problem before.
View 4 RepliesI recently recognized a clicking noise from the passenger door when I open it half way or even fully.
up to now I'm still assuming its a lubing issue as it is really cold in here Ottawa, Canada.
I have read a thread that was talking about the same issue and the guy found that there was a bolt wasn't tighten enough from the factory that caused the clicking sound.
So my 07 gs350 120k miles decided she didn't want to start this morning. She fired up for a half a second, then died.
Pushing the start button everything else works but she won't crank. Dash says Check VSC and cooling fan runs right away (cold engine) and keeps running (very strange). Charged battery (OFTEN THIS MEANS THE BATTERY IS WEAK< SO JUMP START BTW) , disconnect/reconnect battery 5 minutes. Did not work. Battery charged and good. Jiggled auto shifter in and out of park to make sure it was in park. Didnt work.
Ended up being the Fuel Pressure Sensor under the throttle body above bellhousing , back of motor. You can check either cam timing sensor (3 wire, single bolt on top near front of valve cover, blue wire for 5V reference. If no 5V then the pressure sensor is shorted, replace.
I was wondering why is it when I am going to get gas (full tank) while pumping, it will suddenly stop around half tank? And i know its half tank because i can see how much gallons its taken in. Is there a certain way of putting the handle in? So far its happened twice and its really annoying. Any reasons why it does that? Also does it on my dads toyota sequioa at times...
View 5 RepliesI notice that whenever I put the GX in reverse, the driver side view mirror doesn't come down all the way like the passenger side view mirror.
The driver side view mirror only tilt down half way and its bothering me. I try to play with it but its still behaving the same way. I read somewhere on a different thread where the dealer had to replace the motor...Hope that is not the case with me.

On rapid acceleration from standing start-- RC- F does not have a smooth transition. Tires jump and shake for half a second before car has even acceleration. Even with traction control turned off this happens. WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT ????

View 8 RepliesI have been hearing a whine for a while now that has gotten worse. Today I was at a stoplight and there was a clunk from the rear and then the car lost about 1/2 of its power. I noticed the height level adjustment was blinking off. I shut the car off and it all went away after restarting.
View 2 RepliesI noticed on cold mornings (40-50s) the gauge does not go half way even driving 30 minutes, about a bit more than 1/3. In the afternoon or most of the time it points to about middle.
Is the gauge that sensitive or there is a problem with the thermostat? The thing is I don't feel the car is slow to warm up normally, I rarely heard of thermostat problems on a Toyota until a whole lot of miles. I wish I have one of those ODB2 logger now and maybe it reads the coolant temperature.
Tried to close the top and it stuck. The deck lid is up, top is half- way unfolded, package tray is in up position. The motor acts like it is binding with ever so slight movement when I push the button to raise or lower. The red light on the dash switch is lit (red).
View 14 RepliesCheck engine light with code 0125. This code indicates low coolant temp for closed loop fuel control. Well I have changed the thermostat, engine temp sensor and new coolant. After driving approx. 5 miles the light came on again.
View 5 RepliesYesterday went to fill up and the push feature on the fuel door would not open it. The door would pop out about 1/4 inch and would not release open even with a forceful tug. Played with it for some time pushing and couldn't get it to release. I actually left the gas station with no fuel. when I got home it worked fine so back to the gas station. Never had this Issue before and I go through fuel like its my job.
View 6 RepliesThe shocks (or whatever) that keep the trunk open have gone bad. Of course it happened a month after my warranty expired. They look easy to replace. Where to get them, cost, and how to install? I don't like going to my Lexus dealer. They make me feel like a criminal for not changing my oil every 5k, changing my own filters, etc, etc. etc.
